Kaela Coleman is graduating from Falcon High School this year. She has participated on the FHS Cross Country team all four years and received the Career Most Improved award. She has received the Academic All State First Team award for both cross country and track. She is an active member of the Student-2-Student organization. She has served in many youth leadership positions at church where she has also received her Young Womanhood Recognition. Kaela will attend Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah this fall and then plans to attend dental hygiene school. We’d love to feature Meridian Ranch graduating seniors in the upcoming issues of The View from Meridian Ranch. Spring is here and there is a lot of activity in Meridian Ranch. The days are longer and warmer. Landscape improvements are in progress. The County’s dog park at the Falcon Regional Park is open. Some worn park benches and tables have been replaced. The Meridian Ranch Recreation Center has seen numerous upgrades to fitness equipment and facilities. The outdoor pool opening is schedule for May 25th in conjunction with the annual Hawaiian Luau. Our children are enjoying Spring sports programs. Soon the summer day camps will be full of young campers. The Meridian Ranch Developer continues to expand the local road system and houses are getting built faster than I can take in. Spring is my favorite season.

Just around the corner is the “Falcon Freedom Days” Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, June 29. On that day, there will be a children’s parade. Also, a 5k run called “Red, White, and Blueberry” where each runner will be treated to a delicious piece of blueberry pie after the race. Special music will be provided by a great band from Nashville. And, of course, the annual fireworks display will be better than ever. Due to the encroaching new houses, the fireworks will be lower to ground and not visible from as far away. But the actual display promises to be even more exciting than in past years. The Metro District is soliciting donations to help cover the cost of Falcon Freedom Days.
