Design Review Council Corner Wishing Meridian Ranch residents a very happy and safe 4th of July! Please enjoy the music from your porch and the fireworks from above! We would like to congratulate our May Yard of the Month in DRC No. 1.: 10807 Klondike! Thank you for keeping Meridian Ranch a beautiful place to live!

Here is some great information from Tall Timbers on selecting trees at the nursery: When you buy a high-quality tree, plant it correctly, and treat it properly, your tree should last for many years. When you buy a low-quality tree, you may have many costly problems even if you take great care in planting and maintenance. Consider the following when selecting a tree at the nursery:

All improvements must be submitted and approved prior to installation! Please utilize the website or email us directly so the DRC Boards can review and approvals can be communicated in a timely matter.

•

Tree should appear healthy. No discolored bark, wilted leaves, etc.

•

Branches should be spaced evenly around the trunk.

•

Tree trunk should taper from a solid base, gradually becoming more slender towards the top.

Websites: www.meridianranchdrc.nabrnetwork.com

•

Tree foliage and branches should be distributed on upper 2/3 of tree.

www.meridianranchdrc2.nabrnetwork.com Resources; Governing Documents

•

Tree should contain a central, dominant leader.

If you have not already communicated to the DRC team regarding the dead trees in your yard, please do so as soon as possible. The community lost a lot of trees due to the early frost in October prior to the trees going dormant. They were hit again from the freeze in April when the trees were coming out of dormancy. We would like to work with you if you have difficulty replacing your trees in a timely manner.

•

Tree should be free from mechanical damage.

•

Tree should be free from insects and diseases.

•

Roots should not be girdling, circling or potbound.
