I carry a camera whenever I play golf, just as I would a putter. Golf courses can be as beautiful as any park, often more so. When I'm out on a course it inspires the photographer in me sometimes more than the golfer, which isn't always a good thing. But even if my golf is rubbish and I haven't hit a fairway all day, I can usually count on a good photo or two: my alternative to a birdie or eagle, even the odd ace!

This book is the result of snapping while golfing in the Auckland region and at a few other North Island locations over the last couple of years — I haven’t been let loose on South Island courses yet. There are more Remuera Golf Club photos than others in this book because I am their course photographer.

Before coming to New Zealand I was involved in the golf industry in various roles (trainee golf pro, selling golf holidays, golf centre marketing, golf journalism), most of which involved golf course photography, so I’ve had some practice. I can safely say that my golf photography is better than my golf! Let me swing by your golf club and give it the photographic treatment it deserves.
