Award. A recent documentary “The Mom’s of Magnolia Street” also won an esteemed Peabody Award that honors excellence in broadcast and digital journalism in the public service. Work aside, Evita is currently enjoying 12 years of marriage to husband Phil and playing lots of Uno with 8-year-old daughter Penelope. She believes Mercy helped cultivate the spirit of friendship, learning, travel and adventure in her—values that continue guiding her decisions every day. The sisterhood at Mercy is SO REAL and still alive in her life, especially in her closest friendships—”Alma Mater, oak-clad acres, thee we hail in song!”

Maureen Carey Maleki ‘04

married Cyrus Maleki just last month in Morgan Hill, California! The wedding was a perfect day. Maureen’s sisters Gina Carey Herrera ‘90 and Megan Carey ‘95 served as maid of honor and officiant, respectively, and close friend Jamila Sinlao Zanette ‘04 was also a bridesmaid.

Chef Monique Lopez

Feybesse ‘06 is the co-owner of Tarts de Feybesse, a pastry business that has garnered attention in the Bay Area for its homage to traditional French patisseries in Paris that uses modern technique and gorgeous aesthetics. Though she mostly dabbles in the sweet world, she presently has an extensive savory experience in starred fine dining restaurants in San Francisco, New York, Copenhagen, and Paris. Monique credits her evolving style of cuisine to French and Filipino influences along with classic elements learned throughout her career. She is also a proud mother. While always on her feet as a chef, she is still constantly fighting a laundry battle at home. In 2022, she was one of the chef contestants on “Bravo’s Top Chef” (Season 19) in Houston.

2010

Jenise Spiteri ’10 competed in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics in Snowboarding Halfpipe and was the flag bearer for Malta in the opening ceremonies. See the Alumna Spotlight on Jenise on page 40.

Melanie Ann Paragas ‘14, PharmD

Two years and 16 rotations later, I’m feeling extremely grateful for the connections, lessons, and opportunities I’ve had with UC Davis Health. As a student and PGY-1 resident, my experiences have been invaluable in preparing me for the next step in my career. I am very happy to share that I’ve accepted my dream postresidency position as the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Pharmacist at Oregon Health & Science University.

2016

Alexis Solorzano ‘16 recently graduated from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles and received her Juris Doctorate this past May. She plans to sit for the California Bar exam in July.

2019

Maggie Dugoni ‘19 writes, “I am so excited to finally announce that I have accepted a position as Product Development Intern in the immuno-oncology biosimilar sector at Coherus BioSciences! I want to thank everyone who helped me throughout the process. I cannot wait to start this new journey this summer.” Maggie is studying Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at Villanova University where she will be a Sophomore. Maggie is involved in the Society of Women Engineers, Delta Gamma, American Society of Chemical Engineers, and the Relay for Life Leadership team.

2021

Meaghan Sowers ‘21 made the President’s List at CSU Long Beach achieving a 4.0 GPA during her first year. She will be transferring to UC Santa Cruz’s Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies program as a junior in Fall 2022.
