THE SISTERS OF MERCY

A Legacy of Caring

Moved by the needs of people suffering from poverty, hunger and lack of shelter, Sisters of Mercy Foundress Catherine McAuley devoted her life to serving others and connecting people with resources to those in need. Mercy Foundation continues to uphold Catherine’s rich legacy, believing in the inherent dignity and value of all people, and in the generosity of the human spirit.

Inspired by the mission of the Sisters of Mercy to connect those with resources to those in need, Mercy Foundation raises philanthropic support and community awareness to enhance the lives of people in the communities we serve. Mercy Foundation focuses on health care, education, housing, and care for the poor and elderly.

Mercy Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas West Midwest Community. Our tax ID number is: #23-7072762.

FROM 1954 UNTIL THE END OF NEED

For more than six decades, Mercy Foundation has been partnering with the community to further the mission of the Sisters of Mercy, who have served the Sacramento region since 1857. Together, we help feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, educate the underserved, and care for the sick at local Dignity Health hospitals and clinics. Our ability to aid the most vulnerable is only sustained through individual acts of generosity and kindness. Join us as we continue our mission “until the end of need.”
