President’s Message
Renee Blickle and her fellow Mercy McMahon Terrace residents are so grateful for the improvements to the dining room. Ample space allows them to socialize and dine together, especially during the holiday season!
Mercy McMahon Terrace Celebrates New Dining Room and Kitchen Since its opening more than 30 years ago, Mercy McMahon Terrace has been welcoming Sacramento-area seniors and offering them support and comfort so they may flourish throughout their golden years. Reflecting the Sisters of Mercy’s legacy of caring, Mercy McMahon Terrace has a spirit of genuine warmth and compassion. To ensure the needs of its current and future residents would be met, in early 2020 Mercy Foundation began raising more than $1.25 million to renovate and expand the community’s kitchen and dining room—adding all-day dining and a wider variety of menu options. The exciting project was completed this fall and the community’s grateful residents and hardworking staff who support them are thoroughly enjoying the beautiful and open new dining area and expanded and efficient kitchen. “The larger dining room is just wonderful,” shares 90-year old resident Renee Blickle. “The new chairs and floors are lovely. And the room is so bright, open and friendly– just like our community.” Mercy Foundation is deeply grateful to donors like you whose gifts ensure residents of Mercy McMahon Terrace live in the beautiful environment they deserve while receiving the very best care.
The holiday season provides a wonderful opportunity to pause our busy lives and reflect gratefully on the many blessings all around us. During this meaningful time, we joyfully celebrate you, our steadfast supporters. Through your heartfelt generosity, you further the mission of the Sisters of Mercy. The stories you’ll read in this newsletter illustrate a sampling of ways your compassion helps those in need. From the tiniest babies needing extra care in the hospital, to appreciative seniors enjoying their golden years, your generosity helps people in our community in all stages of life. Thank you for truly making a positive difference for our ministries and those they serve. Wishing you and your loved ones a beautiful holiday season and health and happiness in the new year,
