Arts & Sports Precinct
Welcome to your new Arts & Sports Precinct.
A vibrant space where students can flourish, learn, move and belong. Mercedes College is excited to reveal its plans for the new Arts and Sports Precinct. Designed to provide a future-focussed and sustainable learning environment where students can explore their potential, the Precinct will offer a new performing arts centre, a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor sports complex and communal spaces. Supporting the vision of the College and its Mercy Key values, the Precinct will further embed Mercedes College as a world-class learning environment, providing superior learning opportunities for students encompassing body, mind and spirit. The new Arts and Sports Precinct was developed with the invaluable input from the broader College community over the
past few years, ensuring that the design considered solutions for traffic management and safety, technology and learning, and environmental factors. The result is a beautifully designed and functional space for coming together, connection and collaboration that meets the needs of the school community now and into the future. I invite you to take a closer look at the design.

Everything we do centres upon helping our students to flourish, to be the best they can be.
The new Arts and Sports Precinct offers students functional spaces to meet the needs of body, mind and spirit. The design is inspired by the College’s beautiful surroundings and the grounds’ botanical nature, connecting our heritage with the future through contemporary style. Based on input from students and the community, the new Precinct offers spaces for sport, performing arts, connection, community and learning.
Performing Arts
Connection
Gleeson Hall is being transformed into a centre for creativity, self expression and performing arts, providing spaces for collaboration, rehearsals, group activity and a stage and auditorium for performances and events.
The new Precinct not only connects key campus areas with each other for better student connectivity, it also offers indoor and outdoor spaces for students to connect with each other and have a sense of belonging.
Community Community is such a big part of who we are. The design addresses the needs of our College community, the community surrounding our grounds, and the broader community with a focus on sustainable practices and materials.
Learning The new spaces created within this Precinct allow our teachers to be more flexible in their approach, taking learning out of the classroom and into more inspiring, creative and contemporary surroundings.
