FESPA Awards 2017 winners revealed FESPA has announced the winners of its 2017 Awards at a celebration dinner during FESPA 2017. The 2017 Awards attracted entries from across 37 countries, with the top prizes being given to entrants from across Europe, Asia and Australasia.

This year’s winning pieces included innovative entries across all categories, 3D printed shoes and more than 30 t-shirt entries. The Special Effect (31 submitted) and Point of Purchase Products - Paper and Board (26 submitted) categories proved to be the most popular among entrants.

Following 4 weeks of voting online, the 2017 People’s Choice Award was presented to Australia-based 3D printing company OMUS for the stunning Louis Vuitton pop-up store that was created using 3D printing technology.

The dome-shaped structure was 3D printed in 48 sections which were then assembled and wrapped in film. Because stocks were limited, additional material had to be air freighted in to complete the project.

In total, the team went through about 900 kilograms of gel printing material. The Best in Show Award went to Atelier fuer Siebdruck Lorenz Boegli, Switzerland, for its entry in the Special Effect category, ‘Le Monde des Effects’.

This entry – a newspaper which combined a variety of different screen printing techniques – was universally considered the most outstanding example of innovation, grabbing the attention of every judge across the 14 categories.

Tobella Soler who was member of the judging panel commented: ”People could be of the opinion that screen printing is an industry in decline, however the innovation that we are seeing across all Award categories highlights that this is certainly not the case."

"Screen printing is here to stay as it’s an irreplaceable technique for multiple applications. Conventional screen printing is a special craft and keeps surprising me. The special effects that can be achieved in graphics and posters are breathtaking.”

The Young Star Award went to Sandra Zomer from the Netherlands, for her entry ‘Illusive Mind’. This fashion collection focuses on playfully distorting the communication in order to reveal the boundaries between reality and individual perception.

“Surrendering to an illusion in which given materials, appearances, shapes and prints create a motion that exists only in our mind”, commented the designer. She has won € 1,000 and the recognition of the global printing community.

The FESPA Awards celebrate print excellence, inviting printers from FESPA’s global print community to demonstrate their most creative and inspiring work. This year, the Awards were judged at the FESPA’s new offices in Dorking over the 1st and 2nd March by an independent panel of industry experts.

With such a broad selection of high-quality entries to preside over this year, the judging process wasn’t easy. Graeme Richardson Locke, sales and operations director at Vektor, who served as a judge for this year’s FESPA Awards commented: “As so many submissions were of such a high quality it made for a very difficult job for the judging panel to differentiate on technical execution alone. Fortunately with a range of criteria to be scored we managed in all cases to reach a consensus without too much argument.”

“With 14 categories and hundreds of entries the sheer volume of entries to be evaluated was challenging we certainly needed the two full days to review everything. Even with more than 30 years of printing experience the scope of techniques employed presents difficulty in appreciating the methods used.”

“However, by working together the five judges could pool of a great deal of knowledge to ensure the rightful winners won their place in the awards. It is also an enormous privilege to be asked to judge and

the process is hard work but very rewarding,” Graeme added.

The judges, who FESPA hand-picked based on their specialist knowledge and experience within their own print fields, highlighted the amazing range of creative applications of both, screen and wide format digital print, seen in the entries.

“Print service providers are pushing better quality and performance at every stage of design and production. Whilst screen maintains it hold in terms of durability and the use of spot colour and special pigments, digital is being selected for shorter runs and higher levels of complexity in image resolution and finishing.”

Since then, the Awards have been showcased online for people to vote for their favourite to win People’s Choice of the Year. And all shortlisted entries are also on display at FEZPA 2017, which took place from 8-12 May at the Hamburg Messe in Germany.

lations go to all our winners and finalists from this year’s Awards.

The entries have shown the power of print to create impact across all types of brief. It’s great to have been able to share these shining examples of creativity and best practice, which mirror the FESPA 2017 ‘Dare to Print Different’ theme, showing the diverse range of applications made possible by wide format print. The aim of the Awards is to recognise the talent of our global print community and to inspire others. From the quality and breadth of entries I’m sure that this has been the case!”

Helwan University Wins Seven Awards at Arab StarPack International Competition design. Another branch was Visual Graphic Design, which involved a development of an existing design.

Finally, Save Food was a special activity for agricultural products to propose new ways, designs, and ideas for smart packaging and to prolong its life and validity.

The ceremony was attended by a number of dignitaries including the Lebanese Minister of Industry Dr. Hussein Haj Hassan and Deputy Prime Minister Saad Hariri; Thomas Schneider, the President of the World Packaging Organization; Cristiano Pascini; the UNIDO Representative; François Paras, the Ambassador of Switzerland to Lebanon; Dr. Fadi El-Gemayel, the President of the Arab Union for Paper, Packaging and Printing Industries, and Ahmed Gaber, the President of the Egyptian

Printing and Packaging Industries Chamber.

Amira Yassin of the 4th Division of the Industrial Design Department won the first prize of Pan Arab StarPack at the level of the entire Arab world in structural design. In Architectural Design Competition, the winners were Amira Yassin from the 4th Division of Industrial Design, Shaima Massoud from the 4th Division of Industrial Design, and Marwa Mohammed from the 4th Division of Industrial Design.

In the Visual Design Competition, the winners were Ahmed Magdy from the second division of the advertising department, Iman Ammar from the 4th Division of printing, publishing and packaging, and Amani Amer from the fourth division of printing, publishing and packaging.

The students of the Faculty of Applied Arts at Helwan University won 7 of 41 awards in the first Arab StarPack International Competition. The awards were distributed at a large ceremony in Beirut, Lebanon, at the headquarters of the Union of Arab Chambers, followed by an exhibition of all the works of the participating students.

More than 1,000 students from 60 universities from 13 Arab countries participated in the competition. The competition was organized by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization and Poverty Reduction UNIDO International and the lebanese packaging center LibanPack, for the best packaging designs.

The competition has three branches.

FESPA announces dates for 2018 Global Print Expo in Berlin

FESPA has announced that its FESPA 2018 global print expo, will take place over four days from May 15 to May 18 2018 at Messe Berlin, Germany. The next global print expo is expected to cover nine halls of the Berlin Messe showcasing screen, digital and textile printing solutions.

FESPA 2018 will again be co-located with European Sign Expo for non-printed visual communication solutions.

sional director, FESPA, comments: “We always consult with our exhibitors on the location of our shows and Berlin was one of the favourites. We’ve received positive reactions from exhibitors for the Berlin event, which is evident from the floor space already booked and optioned, even before FESPA 2017 began.

“Berlin is a favourite city as many of our exhibitors have positive memories of our last Berlin event back in 2007. It is the capital and largest city in Germany and the seventh largest in Europe, and a world renowned centre for culture, politics, media and science. Importantly, Berlin is a continental air and rail traffic hub, accessible from all major European and international cities.”

One of the world’s leading conference organisers itself, Berlin Messe is in an accessible position, located just a 10 minute car journey from Berlin airport.

This makes it easily reachable for international visitors and just a short journey from the city centre, which is home to over 750 hotels.

When FESPA was last located in Berlin it attracted increased attendance from Eastern Europe, especially Poland and Russia, in addition to the traditional core audience from Western Europe.

Occupying 10 halls with specific zones for screen, digital and textile print, FESPA 2017 is still running from 8-12 May at the Hamburg Messe with the biggest ever edition of the global print expo.

Throughout the week, thousands of print service providers and signmakers from around the globe are flocking to the exhibition to see the latest innovations in technology and consumables from more than 1,000 supplier brands, and will witness dozens of product launches.

Additional panelists will join the panel to cover the full workflow process including RIP, print, cutting, heat press and sewing. Eager to learn more about what attendees will hear during the panel discussion, Smithers Pira asked David Brewer to share his viewpoint on why workflows are so impor-

tant to the industry and what are some of the biggest technical challenges in workflows right now.

"Workflows define the ability to run production in efficient, consistent and profitable manners. Automation which begins with job entry on through all phases of production, file processing, printing, finishing, packing/kitting, shipping, billing. Every step can be analyzed for value added and non value added and through the workflows we try to reduce NVA time and mistake proof the processes," Brewer commented.

Smithers Pira has been running the successful Digital Print for Packaging US conference since 2010. Given the event’s growth, the company is expanding into the tangential market of digital textiles. According to a recent market research report by the Smithers Pira team, the digital textile industry is forecast to become a $2.6 billion market by 2021. Digital Textile Printing US will be co-located with the first 3D Printing for Industrial Applications conference, June 5th and the 8th Annual Digital Print for Packaging US conference, June 6-7th.

McGowans Print takes world’s second EFI Nozomi corrugated printer

At FESPA 2017, EFI announced that McGowans Print is taking an EFI Nozomi C18000 single-pass LED inkjet corrugated board press for its Dublin factory.

It’s the second printer of its type to be installed worldwide, and according to McGowansHYPERLINK "https://www. mcgowansprint.com/" CEO Malcolm McGowan, “it checks all the boxes for point-of-sale applications and it allows us to quickly enter the packaging market as well."

With much of its business centred on high-quality display graphics applications, McGowans already has a demand for corrugated display work, and current and potential clients who it believes will also use the company for corrugated packaging as a way to migrate away from litho lamination

processes that are not economical for short- to medium-run work. The Nozomi “takes us to much longer runs and new markets that we cannot reach today with our existing digital printers,” said McGowan.

The 1.8m-wide press can print up to 75 linear metres per minute, producing up to 7,224m2/hr. It can print on materials from 14-point card stock to triple-wall board. The new EFI Fiery digital front end (DFE) McGowans is installing with the printer will provide a scalable, ultra-high-volume workflow for high-quality, ultra-high-speed inkjet versioned, multi-SKU or personalised production applications. McGowans also uses EFI software to drive its Webto-print operations.

EFI announced the McGowans Nozomi order at FESPA 2017, where it also debuted an industrial scale textile printer called the EFI Reggiani ReNoir Flexy, showing the new 3.2m-wide EFI Vutek 3r and 5m-wide 5r roll-to-roll LED printers, and introducing the EFI Pro 16h wide-format hybrid LED printer.

Version 5 of EFI’s Midmarket Print SuiteHYPERLINK "http://www.efi.com/engb/products/productivity-software/ productivity-suite/pace-suite/" – promising efficiencies for display, signage and graphics customers – was also

shown. The Reggiani ReNoir Flexy can handle a variety of fabrics - from knitted to woven as well as low- and highstretchable and stretchable materials - using new ‘Dynaplast’ technology.

The 1.8m-wide printer is available with eight printheads and has a production speed of more than 400m2/hr, with a resolution of up to 2,400 dpi.

The Fiery driven EFI Pro 16h roll/flatbed LED printer includes white ink, and is said to faster speeds than other EFI entry-level hybrid production platforms, with some print modes offering up to a 30% higher throughput. The EFI Vutek 3r uses UltraDrop Technology 7-picolitre printheads and can run at up to 345m2/hr. The bigger EFI Vutek 5r - the first of which is going to Beflex in Hungary - has throughput speeds up to 455m2/hr. Options include an inline finishing system - x-cutting, slitting and collecting - and additional white and light colours.

The latest version of Midmarket Print Suite includes improvements such as a Superwide Format component database for easier estimating, planning and management in dedicated signage and graphics production printing environments, as well as a new workbench tool and deeper integration with imposition and fulfillment components.

PostNet International Franchise Corporation (“PostNet”), a leading design, printing and shipping franchise with 660 locations in 9 countries, has been purchased by MBE Worldwide, one of the largest third-party logistics, printing and communication service retail networks in the world with 1,600 locations globally.

Both franchise companies currently operate in the business services industry, offering premium shipping, logistics, printing, graphic design and postal services. The acquisition of PostNet gives Mail Boxes Etc. a strong presence in the U.S., South Africa and several other countries where the PostNet brand is well established and will continue to grow. Combined, the two companies will have an extensive

reach of nearly 2,300 locations in 33 countries.

Brian Spindel will continue to serve as President and COO of PostNet, reporting to Paolo Fiorelli, Chairman and CEO of MBE Worldwide. Steve Greenbaum, Founder and former Chairman and CEO of PostNet, will serve as a consultant to MBE Worldwide on strategic matters. PostNet’s Headquarters and the existing team will remain in Lakewood, Colorado. The two companies will maintain their individual names and concepts.

Esko wins two EDP Awards for technological innovation Esko’s industry leading technology and its positive impact on today’s demanding print production environment has been recognized with two EDP awards. Both were presented to Bruno Vermeulen, EMEA Marketing Director at Esko, at the EDP Award Ceremony held at FESPA, Hamburg.

Two Esko solutions: Esko’s ArtiosCAD and Esko Automated Quality Assurance were awarded among 31 winners chosen from more than 150 entries. The EDP Association aims to better assist the technology-appliers to find the right solution for their applications. ND4C.COM Installs Eight-Color Komori GL840P ND4C.COM, a customer-focused trade printer based in Houston, Texas has just installed a Komori eight-color 40-inch perfecting press (GL840P) equipped with Baldwin LED. Sandusky Packaging Creates New Market Opportunities With KBA Rapida 106

Sun Chemical presents textile inkjet inks at FESPA 2017

Under the umbrella theme of Brighter Ideas, Sun Chemical showcased its comprehensive portfolio of inks and innovative ink chemistry platforms at FESPA 2017.

Highlighting the depth and breadth of its solutions, Sun Chemical was demonstrating its capabilities and expertise within four zones on the stand: Digital Textiles, Graphics, Industrial and Partnerships & Technology.

In the Digital Textiles zone, Sun Chemical presented its range of four SunTex textile inkjet inks optimised for Epson printheads. Delivering improved ink consumption when compared to leading competitors, SunTex inks are specifically formulated to enable high-speed and long print runs, the company reports.

Included in the product range is SunTex Sonata DTE, a transfer dye sublimation ink series for printing polyester sport garments. This ink has been awarded the OekoTex EcoPass, enabling printers to achieve the Oeko-Tex 100 printed garment certification.

Also, part of the range is SunTex Sonata DDE, a dye sublimation ink developed to meet the key requirements of direct print to polyester fabrics, delivering excellent show-through properties for double-sided output such as flags and banners. SunTex Sonata

DDE is also said to offer excellent wash and bleed fastness, a critical feature for outdoor printed fabric applications.

Sun Chemical was also presenting its innovative SunTex Encore PDE pigment ink. Encore PDE is the result of many years of R&D and is formulated to deliver improved colour vibrancy, while maintaining excellent wash and wet-rub resistance, according to the manufacturer. Encore PDE can be printed directly onto both natural and synthetic textile fabrics, such as cotton, viscose, silk and polycotton, which are widely used for interior decoration and home furnishing.

Completing the range is SunTex Concerto RDE, a reactive dye ink series that is said to deliver excellent colour vibrancy when printing directly to fabrics, such as

silk and cotton, while maintaining the soft feel, a key requirement for clothing garments. In addition, Sun Chemical presented an Eco Pro pouch feed system for its upgraded Streamline ESL 3 ink.

With the Eco Pro system a sealed ink pouches fit into a cradle above the printer which is plumbed to lower cartridges, which slot in as normal.

The closed system removes the risk of air bubbles from entering the system. Sun Chemical offers the 800ml ink pouches for the Streamline Ultima HPQ LO (CMYK) and the new Streamline ESL3 (CMYK, LC, LM, LK) ink ranges.

At FESPA 2017, the company was showcasing a pouch system for its upgraded Streamline ESL 3 solvent-based inkjet inks, designed for wide-format printers - colourmatched with the Roland Eco Sol Max 3 ink series.

Mimaki presents new 3D printer at FESPA Mimaki announced the first details of its new 3D inkjet machine at FESPA 2017 last week, due to be commercially available by the end of this year. The machine, which was announced at FESPA 2017, is still in prototype stage and is being called the 3DUJ-P for the moment. Mimaki describes the 3DUJ-P as the “world’s first full-colour modelling machine”, offering up to 10 million colours.

It uses high-definition modelling based on Mimaki’s advanced UV inkjet technology and prints at a maximum modelling size of 500x500x300mm.

It can achieve 84% of the Fogra 39L Colour gamut and prints using water-resistant acrylic resin modelling material, with a strength equivalent to ABS. 3D objects are created through repeated curing, layer by layer, with the ink and supporting material being ejected simultaneously. “We are proud to announce that this is the world’s first full-colour model, offering up to 10 million colours,” said Mimaki Europe managing director Yuji Ikeda, who was appointed to the role on 1 April 2017. “The markets are growing and this is just the first 3D machine we would like to run with. From our side listening to the market and from other continents there are possibilities with

our 3D printer, for example outdoor signage, product prototypes, mockups and modelling.”

In standard mode, the machine can print five “pieces” in around 10 hours, but it also runs in high-definition and high-speed modes. Mimaki president Kazuaki Ikeda said that this was the biggest ever FESPA for Mimaki, and also announced a €1bn sales target for the end of the next financial year, with €400m targeted for Mimaki EMEA. The Japanese-headquartered manufacturer is also launching the latest in its UJF range, its UJF-3042 MKII EX, along with its new TS30-1300 sublimation transfer inkjet printer.

The UJF-3042 MKII EX UV-curable flatbed joins a number of machines in the UJF range. While running at the same speed as the UJF-3042 (2.48sqm/ hr), which was launched last year, it has two extra ink channels with additional printheads to load varnish, white ink and primer.

The 1.3m-wide roll-to-roll TS30 is intended for low-volume runs, targeted at clothing and apparel companies looking for a simple dye sublimation printer. It prints at up to 20sqm/hr and can print full-colour images on polyester fabrics, including on bags, scarves and socks, along with mugs and glasses.

Mimaki will also show its TX300P-1800 direct-to-textile printer, which recently had a module added to simultaneously load textile pigment and dye-sub inks, along with its Tiger-1800B highspeed direct-to-textile machine. The machines are available in the UK from exclusive Mimaki distributor Hybrid.

Hybrid UK national sales manager John de la Roche said the price of the TS30 will be “very competitive” and “may surprise a few people”.

“For Mimaki to be showing three different textile machines aimed at totally different markets shows our commitment to the industry,” said de la Roche. “FESPA is an important show for Hybrid and we will be supporting Mimaki and looking forward to seeing the British and Irish visitors that will be travelling to Hamburg.”

The 1.9m-wide Dragon is a roll-to-roll machine and uses eight heads. It runs in four or eight colours and prints at a maximum speed of 137sqm/hr.

It is aimed at the sign, display graphics and interior dĂŠcor market.

The 1.9m-wide Scorpion is rollto-roll machine with an adhesive belt option for stretched or knitted fabrics. It is available with either 16 or 32 heads, running at maximum speeds of up to 550sqm/hr, and is aimed at the high-end fashion market.

The 3.2m-wide Eagle roll-to-roll printer is also available with the adhesive belt option and runs at a maximum speed of up to 543sqm/hr. It is aimed at the display graphics and home textiles market.

The Scorpion is available with acid/pigment or reactive ink dyes while the Eagle uses disperse or pigment inks. All three printers run at a maximum resolution of 1,440dpi and have variable drop sizes of 3-24pl. Miguel Ferreira, sales director for Mtex and New Solution, said that the use of the different kinds of ink is what is so important about the machines. “These are the new machines, with new technology and the innovation is that you can use

different kinds of pigments.

So for sign and display you would use disperse or for home textile you would use reactive pigment. We are truly at the next wave of digital textile technology innovation. At Mtex, we have invested millions in manufacturing and R&D

facilities so we now manufacture everything in house from the humble nut and bolt to the complete machines you see here today,� Ferreira said.

New Solution also used FESPA 2017 to launch its new packaging machine, the NS Multi, which Ferreira said is important in that it can produce lower quantity runs of packaging jobs. It is mainly

intended for the customised box market. The five-colour (CMYKK) NS Multi prints at a maximum speed of 300mm/ sec at a maximum resolution of 1,600 dpi. It has a maximum web width of 1.1m and has an additional lamination module, which laminates hot and cold at up to 18m/min.

UniNet Europe Introduces New Sublimation Toner and Inks and Wide Format Inks at Fespa UniNet, worldwide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of ondemand LED digital print technology, launched three new products for the European market at Fespa 2017. The show marks the official launch of iColor Sublimation Toner, Absolute Color Sublimation Ink and Absolute Color Wide Format Inks.

Available worldwide, the UniNet iColor Sublimation Toner is a CMYK toner kit developed to produce outstanding quality, and vibrant color prints at half of the cost of sublimation ink. The printed output transfers onto polyester-based textiles, as well as sublimation coated hard surfaces such as ceramic, metal, wood, acrylic and more.

The release of this specialty sublimation toner technology allows users to increase their business possibilities by saving on transfer printing

costs. Users can also enhance the capabilities of their iColor digital transfer system by using it for four different applications: Heat transfer printing with white overprint, right side reading with white underprint, regular CMYK prints without white and now sublimation transfer printing – all with the same machine.

Exclusive to Europe, Absolute Color Sublimation Inks are formulated to produce high-quality sublimation transfer printing on polyesterbased textiles, using both coated and uncoated transfer papers. This outstanding ink formulation produces bright, vibrant colors and the highest density black on the market, while providing substantial ink consumption savings. Durst unveils new and upgraded kit at FESPA 2017

Four new presses were presented on the manufacturer’s stand, the UV-based Rho P10 250 HS Plus and Rho 512R Plus printers and the waterbased Rho WT 250 and Rhotex 325.

At FESPA 2017, which took place from 8-12 May at the Hamburg Messe, industrial inkjet specialist Durst unveiled a raft of new and upgraded machines.

The upgraded Rho 512R Plus and Rho P10 250 HS Plus printers were presented under the slogan of ‘Investment Security and Reliability’.

These two machines supersede the original Rho 512R and Rho P10 250 HS printers. The Rho 512R Plus enhances the company’s 5m-wide printer with

a new Fine Art printing mode at 1,200dpi. Additionally, in Production mode the machine can now reach speeds of up to 400sqm/hr, up from the 360sqm/hr top speed that could be achieved on the original Rho 512R. “The quality improvement with Fine Art mode is significant,” said Durst Group executive vice-president of global sales Barbara Schulz. “We introduced this mode on the flatbed side last year – while we felt it would appeal to smaller digital specialist segment customers doing very highquality work, it’s actually been more in demand than that so we wanted to roll it out on the roll-to-roll side as well.”

The Rho 512R Plus also offers a new V-cut system while new, additional colours are said to enable finer colour transitions. The Rho P10 250 HS Plus offers 40% greater productivity than its predecessor. It also includes an ink-saver function, which saves up to 15% of ink, as well as an advanced application for roll-to-roll doublesided printing.

Field upgrades are available for existing 512R and Rho P10 250 HS users wishing to add the new

features of the Plus models to their machines. The company was also showing its new software offering, Durst Analytics. This preventive service option is said to guarantee user uptime by monitoring important machine parameters and taking proactive service measures.

On the water-based side, Durst was presenting two machines under the slogan of ‘Innovation and Sustainability’. An updated version of the manufacturer’s Rho WT 250 flatbed printer is now capable of printing on plastics such as polypropylene for the first time. The machine can also be used to print on paper media and corrugated boards.

Additionally, the Rhotex 325 3.2m-wide eco-friendly printer, which replaces the Rhotex 322 in Durst’s portfolio, received its European show debut at FESPA 2017. This machine features the dual properties of directto-textile and printing on transfer paper. We knew it would be a good model for the market and for our customer base but we have increased our budget for it because it’s already been a success to an extent that we had not foreseen,” said Schulz.

There is a roll to roll option, for example. "We have improved that too,” adds Maurus Zeller.

A new control element ensures even more precise measuring results and thus impeccable printing. This combined with cool LED curing makes for stress-free processing of heatsensitive roll media, because the material warps less.

Speaking of heat-sensitive media: LED curing extends the general diversity of applications. Thin films, paper, board and delicate textiles, for example, join the repertoire of material that the digital printer can handle. In spite of this, there is no need for expensive special LED ink: swissQprint UV inks cure both under mercury vapour lamps and under the new LED system. In the latter case, the output software automatically adjusts the UV output power to the material and the printing speed. This also helps users to achieve consistently optimal curing results. swissQprint launched what the company calls a 4×4 version of its existing Impala and Nyala series in early 2017. Impala LED and Nyala LED are optionally available in this version as well, meaning that they come configured with quadruple CMYK

for impressive quality at high printing speed.

This makes them suited to users requiring high output with uncompromising quality and vivid colours. High-quality POS items, displays, posters, banners, backlit and other similarly demanding media are just some of the applications.

Maurus Zeller explains: "An LED system pays for itself within two years of single-shift operation."

Next to efficiency and versatility, this comes thanks to the maintenance-free nature of the lamps and their modest power consumption, which is said to be 50 percent less than a conventional system.

Another advantage: the lamps are instantly ready to go, so the new printers are outstanding in terms of high availability as well as being productive and easy on the budget. Maurus Zeller promises: "Impala LED and Nyala LED operate with a constant high standard of quality throughout their lifecycle. Not only that, they conserve energy resources and generate no ozone or mercury waste." Impala LED and Nyala LED are now available through the swissQprint distribution partner network in around 40 countries.

swissQprint presented two new large format printers at Fespa 2017: Impala LED and Nyala LED. With a mechanically perfected foundation, these new models operate with even greater precision than their predecessors.

LED curing makes them hugely versatile, highly profitable and environmentally friendly.

"There is a lot more to Impala LED and Nyala LED than LED," said Maurus Zeller at Fespa 2017. The swissQprint product manager explained the further refinements to the mechanical basis of the quality printers.

According to Zeller, "On this foundation, we then put the LED technology for even greater precision." LED curing is claimed to significantly reduce power consumption. Less heat buildup in turn increases the variety of materials that can be printed, enabling new applications. The lamp system is maintenancefree, so consumables and downtimes for maintenance are no longer necessary. "The new machines are profitable, highly precise and environmentally friendly," Zeller concludes. swissQprint large format printers are renowned for their print quality, and yet the Swiss manufacturer never tires of further optimising them. There is a whole series of mechanical improvements in Impala LED and Nyala LED. Two examples: the beam architecture has been reworked for even better stability, and swissQprint has ensured that the flatbed is indeed perfectly flat over its entire surface – 3.2 × 2 metres with Nyala LED and 2.5 × 2 metres with Impala LED. All those points combine to create ideal conditions for pinpoint-precise droplet placement and a homogeneous print image, while maintaining the usual high productivity: Nyala LED achieves a maximum of 206 square metres per hour, Impala LED 180 square metres.

HP’s “The Wolf” Campaign Focuses on the Importance of Print Security ME Printer speaks to Stephane Rogier, the Head of the Print Business Unit at HP, about their new campaign that reiterates the importance of print security.

Can you give us an overview of The Wolf Campaign? What was the idea behind this campaign?

The Wolf Campaign is a global initiative, aimed to raise awareness on the security risks facing businesses and consumers. Throughout the series, modern employers are depicted as “sheep” as most of the time they can be ignorant on how data and important company information is being stolen from them.

The big idea for the campaign came about while we were talking to our customers and we realized that security on printers was often overlooked in business organizations. As an industry leader in the printing market, we wanted to raise the awareness of our customers about the importance of security for printers.

Today, a lot of people are knowledgeable about security in PCs, networks, routers and datacenters.

However only 18% of IT managers are really focusing on printing security in their current business infrastructures. Therefore, we want to educate our customers on the risks around print security, help them fix these vulnerabilities and keep them safe and protected.

Do you have any stats and figures to how much is print security being overlooked in organizations today?

According to a recent survey commissioned by HP, only 18% of our customers are concerned about IT security on their printers. This is extremely low when compared to PCs (91%), mobile devices and servers (77%). During our conversations with IT managers in the region, we have validated that this is the case with 60%of companies surveyed had a breach involving printers. As a market leader, we wanted to encourage conversation around this topic and help our customers in addressing their print security issues.

Do you have any insights on how hackers have evolved to take advantage of printer security vulnerabilities?

In today’s business world, hackers have become

more creative with the emergence of hacking guides for printers. These books detail out on how a printer can become an entry point in your network. Note that a printer nowadays will have a CPU, an operating system (firmware), a hard disk and a network connection. So it is basically just another computing device.

Therefore, it is imperative that just as IT managers spend on securing their company servers and PCs, it is equally important to secure their printers as well. Hackers have taken advantage of this; and one real life example that I can share is a very famous case where a hacker penetrated a printer and through updating the operating system, he was able to play a video game on the printer screen.

Moving on to more serious cases, we have found

that many hackers get control of the printer because of a security breach, making it the most vulnerable computing device in the workplace. After obtaining control of the printer, this becomes their “Trojan horse” into the full infrastructure. Using the printer, they can see traffic on the network and launch active directory attacks.

A lot of security breaches can be seen in banks and oil companies, and can lead to a lot of confidential data to be stolen.

Another interesting example is how nowadays, hackers are using drones to connect with the printer through wireless connection. This enables the hacker to scan and attack the printer from afar.

How is HP addressing these vulnerabilities in print security?

All companies today have data that they would want to protect. The general consensus to protecting data would be protect the hard drives and prevent spooling (sending data at is intended for printing or processing to an intermediate store). Our approach at HP is much broader and is based on our industry experience. We look at security from 3 distinct elements:

Secure the device: Through an innovative software that can only be found in HP products, we can constantly detect and address real-time attacks.

Therefore, if there is an attack, the device will automatically reboot and start on a clean slate. For printers, we have a protective firmware called “Golden Copy”, which restarts printers with an issue to a clean copy. Also, another HP-only security feature is the ability to automate the security policy deployment on your fleet of devices.

Secure the data: Through HP software solutions, we help ensure that only authenticated users and devices access the customer’s print network and keep their data encrypted. Our printers can also produce security reports that will enlist all identified vulnerabilities in the printer network.

Secure the document: At HP, we offer a Printer Secure Document Solution that helps to reduce unclaimed print jobs, protect sensitive documents and deter tampering or fraud. This solution has become a vital tool to protect the workflow of

content and data to and from printers over the network resulting in reduced opportunities for breaches.

How do you plan to educate print service providers of these print security threats?

HP is at the forefront in making the print industry better equipped. We rely on very strong network of channel partners around the globe that are trained to educate both resellers and customers through print security workshops and sharing of best practices. We are extremely committed to innovating our printer business, which have led to our recent acquisition of the Samsung print business as well as continuous investments in research and development.

What is the takeaway you want audiences to remember after watching the films?

We are confident that the web series will build awareness and create a sense of urgency with IT and security professionals around the security vulnerabilities of endpoint devices, like printers and PCs in the office, and help them learn how to close these gaps in their security.

At our stand, we have designed three ‘product discovery areas’ where visitors can visit a staged kitchen, bathroom and construction site.

We are highlighting how our products and solutions address various trends in packaging and paper. Convenience remains a major trend in consumer goods packaging, and we’ll show, for example, our latest solutions for easy opening and reclosing of packaging to meet the needs of today’s demanding consumers.

Our customers want to differentiate their products on the shelf, boost their brand recognition and build trust with consumers.

We showed how our solutions can give their products a competitive advantage through a natural look and feel, high-quality printing and branding, and windows that give consumers a good view of the product inside. We also offer corrugated packaging solutions that offer greater flexibility for transporting chilled or frozen goods.

What else can visitors expect from your interpack stand in 2017?

Our regular visitors will notice some new aspects of our exhibit this year. Our booth offers more

ways for visitors to get directly in touch with our products so they can personally experience some of the things we do. They can take part in a virtual reality game and win prizes. And we’ll be giving away ice cream wrapped in ice cream cone sleeves produced

by Mondi Kalenobel, a company we acquired last year in Turkey.

As the sustainability of our products and business is always such a priority for us, there is also a representative of our Sustainable Development department at our booth to talk about Mondi’s ‘Growing responsibly’ initiative and our activities within our strategic partnership with WWF.

Can you tell us about Mondi’s participation in the Save Food forum at this year’s interpack?

This is an important topic around the world, and many of our food packaging solutions can help make a difference. Mondi is a member of the SAVE FOOD initiative, which is a global effort to reduce food waste and loss.

Our high-quality, innovative food

packaging can help protect food during transport and storage, extend its shelf life, and minimise waste after opening with clever dosing or reclosing features.

We offer, for example, industrial bags equipped with RFID tags that allow them to be traced along the supply chain. Our pa-

Print Advertising Cuts Through in a Digital Age In our increasingly computerfocused age, it’s tempting to see print as a fading medium.

Digital is increasingly seen as the default ‘channel’ for communication, whether that be for news, socializing or promoting brands and products. For many brands, the convenience of instant click to buy, easily measurable results and data about customers, make digital the perfect medium for growing sales and building brand loyalty through social media content such as video.

However, the situation is not so black and white for many b2b manufacturers; though digital touchpoints such as a website can play a role in promoting their goods and services, highvalue procurement deals are not brokered by clicking on an ad, and there is evidence that digital display ads on websites and news sites have little influence on consumers’ buying decisions for mainstream products. While advertising online in targeted websites may keep brands ‘top of mind’, it is easy to ignore. According to research by eye-tracking

firm Lumen, only 9% of digital ads receive more than one second’s attention from consumers.

Recent reports in the news also highlight the problems of controlling where digital ads appear – even in 2017 it can be difficult for ad servers to predict or track where ads will be displayed online. Most recently the appearance of advertising alongside extremist propaganda videos on YouTube lead to an outcry and for several major brands to withdraw millions of dollars of advertising from the platform. Both issues indicate that digital advertising doesn’t necessarily have the impact or the credibility that brands want to build with their potential customers.

It turns out that for many companies, and small businesses especially, print advertising still plays a key role in their marketing mix.

Modern print technologies mean that the cost of printing short runs of direct mail or leaflets has significantly reduced in recent years, and for local business this can be a highly efficient and cost effective means to reach the

customers who are most likely to use their services. Australian Printer reported that offline marketing channels are set to grow in 2017, after marketing agency Salmat found that the top three new channels marketers plan to invest in this year were all forms of printed direct mail. Marketers are recognizing that context and relevancy are the key to success when consumers are beset by so many other distractions.

A recent article in Forbes asked several marketing experts for their predictions for print vs digital advertising. Most agreed that while the sharp decline in newspaper and magazine sales has had an impact on the reach of print advertising, it still offers high value for brands who want to ‘engage’ with their customers on a deeper and more direct level, especially if you consider tactics like personalised direct mail. As one commentator puts it: “Print brings a less noisy setting that can’t be fully duplicated online”.

This was echoed by Marketing Week’s piece on newspaper advertising last summer, which predicted that core newspaper audiences are returning to print to escape “the never-ending madness of digital” and that they appreciate the authenticity of printed content. Lidl’s head of media, Sam Gaunt states that, “People may spend more time with other media but time spent with print is quality time, where people are less likely to be distracted, and that offers powerful communication opportunities.”

While digital advertising may be an effective means to reach customers whilst they are online, the enduring power of print cannot be denied. New printing technologies are reducing the costs for smaller businesses to take advantage of print advertising tactics and deliver an even stronger impact that simply can’t be beaten by a banner ad.

Anti-Counterfeiting and Brand Protection Packaging Market to Reach $3.6 Billion in 2022 “Track-and-trace is the largest technology group with a projected market share of 37% in 2017, followed closely by dedicated tamper evidence technologies with 34% of market value,” said Rudie Lion, the author of the report. “Track-and-trace technologies are forecast to grow during the forecast period at the fastest rate. There will be some decline in growth rates for physical components. But the reason for this is that the vast majority of investments will occur in equipment, software and management systems; as there is a greater emphasis on printable security features and codes. Dedicated tamper-evident technology is a mature market and is set to grow at the slowest rate of the four major technologies examined.”

The problem has been compounded by the extension of trade zones that make it easier for counterfeit goods to cross international borders. As losses from

counterfeit and stolen goods continue to rise, technology suppliers are responding to the supply chain security, product authentication and loss prevention needs of retailers and brand owners with more cost-effective and sophisticated brand protection technologies. In response consumers, brands and enforcement authorities are increasingly using mobile digital channels, such as smartphones to authenticate genuine items.

Food is the largest end-use market for brand protection accounting for a projected 38.8% market share in 2017. Industrial is the second most important market, followed by other consumer goods. The market for brand protection is forecast to register moderate growth over the five-year period to 2022 across all six end-use markets examined. Other consumer goods are forecast to grow at the fastest rate, followed closely by pharmaceuticals and industrial.

In its new report, “The Future of Anti-Counterfeiting, Brand Protection and Security Packaging to 2022” Smithers’ forecasts this global market will grow during the period 2017–2022 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.3%, to reach $3.6 billion in 2022.

Regulatory developments, will impact positively on this market in developed economies across the next five years. These include new obligatory labelling and use of tamper evidence fixtures in US and EU for life-critical products, such as food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and industrial components.

Other countries including China, India, South Korea, Brazil and Turkey have introduced measures designed to tighten supply chain security for the pharmaceuticals industry. Meanwhile the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) from the World Health Organization (WHO) will mandate the use of track-andtrace systems.

While the black and white (B&W) printing market has not grown for some years, it is not in decline.

There is ongoing demand for a range of black and white applications in shorter runs and in higher quality, and this offers business opportunities to print service providers (PSPs) who are suitably equipped with the right digital printing technology to take advantage of this demand cost-effectively.

The digital print market, as a whole, has been growing steadily over recent years and is on track to continue to do so. A recent report by Smithers Pira indicates that the global digital printing market will grow to â‚Ź165 billion in 2018, almost 50% of the offset sector across the world and higher in the more mature print regions.

Digital’s share of the offset volume is much lower, reflecting

the much higher unit costs being obtained for digital print than for offset. The volume of all offset prints will fall by 10.2% across the world between 2008 and 2018, while digital print volume is forecast to grow by 68.1%.

However, while Western Europe will show a strong shift towards colour, with an average annual growth of 20.4% for impressions made on colour devices, there will be a decline in impressions on black & white devices of over 7% per year.

Although it may be in decline, B&W production print nevertheless remains a significant part of the digital print market. In 2012, research company Caslon estimated the size of the B&W market in Western Europe to have levelled off at digital page volumes of around 230 billion and that it is likely to remain at around the same level for the next four to five years.

As print jobs become more complex, PSPs need to ensure that their production environments are flexible, efficient and productive enough to take advantage of these changes in demand. This complexity is the main reason behind a growing trend towards PSPs moving page volumes from their analogue monochrome devices and onto faster, more productive digital devices.

Combined with software that helps increase efficiency and cost recovery, PSPs can streamline their processes in order to increase their margins and reduce waste. Despite the fact that the total number of pages printed in B&W is not set to grow in coming years, there are still a number of opportunities using digital print.

One such major opportunity lies in the increasing number of marketing departments that are looking at switching print work from colour to black and white as a way of cutting costs, something that is an opportunity for both commercial printers and CRDs. Another opportunity is through the on-demand and variable data print (VDP) capabilities of digital print for applications such as

books, bills, statements and direct mail. There are also opportunities for CRDs to safeguard their future by switching from offset technology to digital monochrome print.

For many CRDs today, finding ways to make their production environments more efficient is the key to their survival.

With overall print volumes decreasing, digital printing technologies enable cost-effective production of documents as and when an organisation needs them. There are a number of applications that are forecast by InfoTrends to grow between 2013 and 2018. Books, bill statements and direct mail will continue to be core applications, with CAD/ rendering predicted to be in high demand.

What sort of market does Epson command in the enterprise printers’ arena?

Global Bioplastics for Packaging market forecast to grow by 17% CAGR to 2022

The global bioplastics for packaging industry is forecast to grow from 2017–2022 at an annual average rate of 17% to a market value of almost $7.2 billion according to exclusive new research from Smithers Pira.

According to Smithers Pira’s new report - The Future of Bioplastics for Packaging to 2022 – bioplastics for packaging markets currently represent a very small share of the global plastic packaging market value, but it will grow very strongly – more than doubling in value across the forecast period.

The most successful organisations in this fast developing segment will be those that most effectively meet the remaining key challenges facing the commercial adoption of bioplastics in packaging. Firstly, this involves identifying those opportunities where a premium can be expected for a naturally sourced product, overcoming biopolymers negative cost competitiveness versus petro-polymers caused by falls in world crude oil prices since mid-2014.

Furthermore in packaging applications where it is technically possible for bioplastics to replace oil-based polymers, suppliers will also have to manage the problems of higher production costs, capital availability, and limited availability of bio-based feedstock over the coming years.

While the potential market for bioplastics is huge, consumption rates will depend on whether producers can grow their production capabilities fast enough and at acceptable cost/performance levels to meet demand.

Decades ago, the oil refinery and petrochemical industry successfully implemented the use of addedvalue business models. These business models generated high levels of profit by integrating the supply chain from the oil well head all the way through chemicals and polymer production.

This allowed producers to operate an integrated raw material and polymer complex with very few middle-men and therefore captured profit at each level of the supply chain. It is expected that the biopolymer sector will adapt an added-value business model in a similar way. Unlike oil refineries, a bio-refinery will be capable of processing many different types of biomass, including sugars, cellulose and various plant oils.

“In the future, the development of new technologies will ensure the emergence of new types of polymers and improved ways of producing currently available biopolymers for various end-use applications.

Future biopolymers will offer improved rates of biorenewability and

biodegradability, as this rate is an important factor in achieving market acceptance,” said Vlad Savinov, the author of the report.

In terms of geographical development, Europe is the largest regional market for bioplastic packaging with a 31% share of the global bioplastic packaging consumption. It is now at the forefront of research and development work, but will account for less than 10% of bioplastic production capacity and a have a diminishing share of bioplastic packaging consumption by 2022.

Most of the currently planned volume production facilities are being implemented in Thailand, India and China, and over three-quarters of bioplastics will be produced in Asia by 2022.

In terms of end-use categories, non-food is the largest area of application for bioplastic packaging in 2017, accounting for almost 46% of global consumption. This reflects significant bioplastics consumption for garbage bags and carry-out bags. Food is the second largest end-use sector, followed by beverage bottles. Bioplastic beverage bottle consumption has grown dramatically since 2012, following the introduction of bio-derived PET for soft drinks bottles, and will account for almost 22% of bioplastics for packaging consumption in 2017.

Digital printing to continue to take market share from offset presses In 2017 digital printing accounts for 16.2% of the global print market value and 2.9% of the volume. This is up from 2.1% of the volume in 2012, and the transition is accelerating to 3.9% of volume by 2022 according to the latest exclusive research from Smithers Pira.

In 2017, litho still dominates the world print landscape in terms of the number of pages printed; And by 2022 it will still account for over 70% of the world print output, but much litho print is relatively low-value publication printing – such as newspapers, magazines and directories; which are falling – while the most lucrative opportunities lie in value-adding work using digital print.

The relative cost position of analogue and digital printing is continually changing as new equipment comes on to the market, and the volumes of toner and inkjet grow while prices fall.

This is generally making digital print more cost-effective against traditional analogue printing at ever higher run

lengths. There is a continuing trend of falling run lengths as print buyers act to make sure their content is up to date and there is pressure to reduce the amount of inventory and work-inprogress. The result is a continuation of the analogue-to-digital print transformation.

“Digital print has developed significantly from its introduction in the 1970s for transactional print, with colour cut sheet arriving in the mid-1990s,” said Dr. Sean Smyth the report’s author. “Since then electrophotography and inkjet have enjoyed the lion’s share of the research and development budgets spent on printing technology, pushing the quality, reliability and productivity of systems forward while at the same time reducing the end-user cost of producing print. This has pushed the adoption of the technology into print service providers and packaging converters, initially because of the variable print capability and the economic benefits of low runs. As more end users invest in the technology they are identifying new market niches and benefits for print buyers, pushing further adoption.”

Workflow developments are lowering the transaction costs associated with print, opening new market opportunities to individuals and micro-business-

es. Sheetfed litho has benefited as printers group jobs together on large sheets to share the set-up costs. Using high levels of automation is reducing the set-up times and waste, making litho more cost-effective against cut-sheet colour toner presses. These incremental developments are mirrored across all printing processes.

And many companies are adopting advanced manufacturing techniques to further improve their efficiencies.

The biggest changes are in inkjet, where the achievable quality has greatly improved, along with the reliability and consistency of the printing. The development money in inkjet dwarfs all other technology developments in printing and packaging and this will continue. Single-pass sheetfed and webfed presses are now available and are firmly aimed at most printing applications.

‫سويس كيو برينت تقدم طابعتي تنسيق‬ ‫كبير جديدتين في فيسبا ‪2017‬‬

‫الممتازة يصنع معالجة خالية من اإلجهاد‬ ‫لوسائل اإلعالم المعتمدة على البكرة‬ ‫والحساسة للحرارة وذلك ألن اعوجاج‬ ‫المواد يقل‪.‬‬ ‫وبالحديث عن وسائل اإلعالم الحساسة‬ ‫للحرارة‪ :‬توسع معالجة ‪ LED‬التنوع العام‬ ‫للتطبيقات‪ .‬فعلى سبيل المثال تنضم‬ ‫األفالم الرقيقة والورق واأللواح والمنسوجات‬ ‫الدقيقة إلى مجموعة المواد التي يمكن‬ ‫للطابعة الرقمية التعامل معها‪ .‬وبالرغم من‬ ‫هذا فإنه ليس هناك حاجة لحبر ‪ LED‬خاص‬ ‫غالي الثمن‪ ،‬فتعالج أحبار سويس كيو برينت‬ ‫ذات األشعة فوق البنفسجية المصابيح‬ ‫تحت بخار الزئبق وتحت نظام ‪ LED‬الجديد‪.‬‬ ‫وفي الحالة األخيرة يقوم برنامج اإلخراج‬ ‫بشكل تلقائي بضبط طاقة إخراج األشعة‬ ‫فوق البنفسجية إلى المواد وسرعة الطباعة‪.‬‬ ‫ويساعد هذا المستخدين كذلك على تحقيق‬ ‫نتائج معالجة أمثل باستمرار‪.‬‬ ‫وأطلقت سويس كيو برينت ما تسميه‬ ‫الشركة نسخة ‪ 4×4‬من سلسلتها ‪Impala‬‬ ‫و ‪ Nyala‬الموجودتين في أوائل عام ‪.2017‬‬ ‫و‪ Impala LED‬و ‪ Nyala LED‬متوفرتان‬ ‫بشكل اختياري في هذا اإلصدار كذلك مما‬ ‫يعني أنها تكون مكونة من األلوان الرباعية‬ ‫لجودة مثيرة لإلعداب بسرعة طباعة عالية‪.‬‬

‫قدمت سويس كيو برينت طابعتي تنسيق‬ ‫كبير جديدتين في فيسبا ‪ :2017‬وهما‬ ‫‪ Impala LED‬و ‪ .Nyala LED‬وبفضل‬ ‫تأسيسها على أساس ميكانيكي مثالي‬ ‫فإن هذه النماذج الجديدة تعمل بدقة أكبر‬ ‫مما سبقها‪ .‬ومعالجة ‪ LED‬تجعلها متنوعة‬ ‫بشكل كبير ومربحة للغاية وصديقة للبيئة‪.‬‬ ‫ويقول موروس زيلر في فيسبا ‪:2017‬‬ ‫«هناك الكثير لـ ‪ Impala LED‬و ‪Nyala‬‬ ‫‪ LED‬أكثر منه لـ ‪ .”LED‬ولقد شرح مدير‬ ‫اإلنتاج في سويس كيو برينت التحسينات‬ ‫اإلضافية لألساس الميكانيكي لطابعات‬ ‫الجودة‪ .‬ووفقا ً لزيلر‪“ :‬على هذا األساس قمنا‬ ‫بوضع تقنية ‪ LED‬لدقة أكبر»‪ .‬و ُيقال أن‬ ‫معالجة ‪ LED‬تحد بشكل كبير من استهالك‬ ‫الطاقة‪ .‬ويزيد تراكم الحرارة األقل بدوره من‬ ‫تنوع المواد التي يمكن طباعتها مما يتيح‬ ‫تطبيقات جديدة‪ .‬وإن نظام المصباح خال‬ ‫من الصيانة ولهذا فإن المواد االستهالكية‬ ‫وأوقات التوقف للصيانة لم تعد ضرورية‪.‬‬ ‫وقال زيلر‪« :‬إن اآلالت الجديدة مربحة‬ ‫ودقيقة للغاية وصديقة للبيئة»‪.‬‬ ‫وتشتهر طابعات سويس كيو برينت ذات‬ ‫التنسيق الكبير بجودة طباعتها ومع ذلك لم‬ ‫يحاول صانعو سويس أبدا ً التحسين منها‬ ‫أكثر‪ .‬وهناك سلسلة كاملة من التحسينات‬ ‫الميكانيكية في ‪ Impala LED‬و ‪Nyala‬‬ ‫‪ .LED‬ومن األمثلة على ذلك‪ :‬تمت إعادة‬ ‫العمل على بنية الشعاع من أجل استقرار‬ ‫أفضل‪ ،‬وقد كفلت سويس كيو برينت أن‬ ‫الشاشة المسطحة هي بالفعل مسطحة‬ ‫بشكل تام على سطحها الكامل‪ ،‬حيث‬ ‫أنها ‪ 2×3.2‬متر في ‪ Nyala LED‬و ‪2×2.5‬‬ ‫متر في ‪ .Impala LED‬وتتضافر جميع هذه‬ ‫النقاط لخلق ظروف مثالية لوضع قطرة‬ ‫صغيرة دقيقة وصورة مطبوعة متجانسة‪،‬‬ ‫مع الحفاظ على اإلنتاجية العالية المعتادة‪:‬‬ ‫حيث تحقق ‪ Nyala LED‬حدا ً أقصى بمقدار‬ ‫‪ 206‬متر مربع في الساعة وتحقق ‪Impala‬‬ ‫‪ LED‬مقدار ‪ 180‬متر مربع‪.‬‬ ‫إن طابعتي ‪ Impala LED‬و ‪Nyala LED‬‬ ‫هما طابعتان مسطحتان حقيقيتان قابلتان‬ ‫للتوسع حسب الخيارات المطلوبة‪ .‬وهناك‬ ‫خيار البكرات على سبيل المثال‪ .‬ويضيف‬ ‫موروس زيلر‪« :‬لقد قمنا بتحسين ذلك‬ ‫أيضاً»‪ .‬ويضمن عنصر تحكم جديد نتائج‬ ‫قياس أكثر دقة وبالتالي طباعة ال تشوبها‬ ‫شائبة‪ .‬وهذا إلى جانب معالجة ‪LED‬‬

‫ميماكي تقدم طابعتها الجديدة ثالثية األبعاد في فيسبا‬ ‫أعلنت ميماكي التفاصيل األولى آللتها‬ ‫الجديدة ثالثية األبعاد النافثة للحبر في فيسبا‬ ‫لعام ‪ 2017‬في األسبوع المنصرم لتكون‬ ‫متوفرة في األسواق بحلول نهاية هذا العام‪.‬‬ ‫وال تزال اآللة‪ ،‬والتي تم اإلعالن عنها في فيسبا‬ ‫‪ 2017‬في مرحلة النموذج األولي ويطلق عليها‬ ‫‪ 3DUJ-P‬في الوقت الراهن‪ .‬وتصف ميماكي‬ ‫آلة ‪ 3DUJ-P‬بأنها «آلة النمذجة كاملة األلوان‬ ‫األولى في العالم» والتي تقدم ما يصل إلى ‪10‬‬ ‫مليون لون‪.‬‬ ‫وهي تستخدم نمذجة عالية الدقة مبنية على‬ ‫تقنية ميماكي المتقدمة النافثة للحبر ذات‬ ‫األشعة فوق البنفسجية وتطبع بحجم نمذجة‬ ‫يصل إلى ‪ 500×500×300‬مم‪ .‬ويمكنها‬ ‫تحقيق ‪ 84%‬من تدرج ‪ Fogra 39L‬اللوني‬ ‫وتطبع مستخدمة مواد النمذجة المقاومة‬ ‫للمياه المصنوعة من راتينج األكريليك بقوة‬ ‫تعادل ‪.ABS‬‬ ‫ويتم إنشاء األشياء ثالثية األبعاد من خالل‬ ‫المعالجة المتكررة‪ ،‬طبقة تلو طبقة‪ ،‬بالحبر‬ ‫والمواد الداعمة التي يتم إخراجها في وقت‬ ‫واحد‪ .‬وقال يوجي إيكيدا‪ ،‬المدير العام لمياكي‬ ‫أوروبا‪ ،‬والذي تم تعيينه في هذا المنصب‬ ‫بتاريخ ‪ 1‬نيسان ‪ ،2017‬قال‪« :‬إننا فخورون‬ ‫بأن نعلن بأن هذا هو أول نموذج كامل األلوان‬ ‫في العالم‪ ،‬يقدم ما يصل إلى ‪ 10‬مليون لون‪.‬‬

‫وفي حين أنها تعمل في نفس سرعة ‪UJF-‬‬ ‫‪ 3042 )2.48‬م‪/ 2‬ساعة) والتي تم إطالقها‬ ‫العام الماضي فإن لها قناتي حبر إضافيتين‬

‫مع رؤوس طباعة إضافية لتحميل الورنيش‬ ‫والحبر األبيض والفتيل‪.‬‬ ‫وتهدف آلة ‪ TS30‬للبكرات ذات سعة ‪1.3‬‬ ‫م إلى القيام بطباعة منخفضة الحجم والتي‬ ‫تستهدف شركات المالبس واألزياء التي‬ ‫تبحث عن طابعة تصعيد صبغة بسيطة‪،‬‬ ‫وهي تطبع ما يصل إلى ‪ 20‬م‪ /2‬ساعة‪،‬‬ ‫ويمكنها طباعة صور بألوان كاملة على أقمشة‬ ‫البوليستر بما في ذلك الحقائق واألوشحة‬ ‫والجوارب إلى جانب األكواب والنظارات‪.‬‬ ‫طابعة‬ ‫كذلك‬ ‫ميماكي‬ ‫وستعرض‬ ‫‪ TX300P-1800‬التي تطبع على النسيج‬ ‫مباشر ًة والتي أصبح لديها مؤخرا ً وحدة‬

‫وهذا يعني دون الدخول في تفاصيل فنية‬ ‫أخري أن المطبعة الرقمية تنتج مطبوعة‬ ‫ذات جودة أعلي من تلك التي تنتجها‬ ‫المطبعة التقليدية‪.‬‬ ‫وقد يستخدم بديل أكثر تطورا هو الملف‬ ‫المعروف باسم‪Jobdescrptionformat-‬‬ ‫‪ JDF‬أو صيغة وصف العملية الطباعية وهو‬ ‫ملف مثيل لـ‪ PDF‬وإن كان يحتوي علي‬ ‫تفاصيل أكثر من المطبوع نفسه مثل عدد‬ ‫الصفحات ومقاساتها وتفاصيلها وطريقة‬ ‫ضبط ألوانها وكمية المطبوع وغيرها‪.‬‬

‫نقطة أخري تميزت بها الطباعة الرقمية‬ ‫هي امكانية تعديل عرض وطول الصفحة‬ ‫في حين كان تعديل عرض الصفحة علي‬ ‫المطبعة التقليدية يحتاج إلي تعديل‬ ‫في المطبعة ـ أما تعديل طول الصفحة‬ ‫ويسمي القطع فال يمكن أن يتم علي‬ ‫مطابع الصحف العادية بسهولة ويحتاج‬ ‫لتعديل جذري يتكلف الكثير‪ .‬المطبعة‬ ‫الرقمية اآلن على وشك أن تزيح آالت‬ ‫الطباعة التقليدية الضخمة التي تطلبت‬ ‫استثمارات كبيرة‪.‬‬

‫بالغة الدقة تماثل المطبوع النهائي تماما‪،‬‬ ‫اضافة إلي ذلك فقد أدي انتشار الطباعة‬ ‫الرقمية الي تغيير المفهوم المركزي للطباعة‬ ‫التقليدية إلي المفهوم الالمركزي‪ ،‬وصوال إلي‬ ‫انتشار مبدأ التوزيع قبل الطبع‪.‬‬ ‫كما ناسبت الطباعة الرقمية العديد من‬ ‫أوجه الطبع المختلفة كطبع بطاقات‬ ‫التعبئة والتغليف لسهولة طبع البار كود‬ ‫الذي يمثل حجر الزاوية حاليا في أنظمة‬ ‫التخزين االلكترونية باستخدام الحاسب‪،‬‬ ‫كذلك فإن الطباعة الرقمية تسهل سرعة‬ ‫تغيير جزء أو كل المعلومات المطبوعة‬ ‫علي بطاقة ما مثل السعر أو تاريخ االنتاج‬ ‫أو تاريخ انتهاء الصالحية‪.‬‬ ‫ومن المعروف أن طباعة الصحف‬ ‫ذات تكلفة اقتصادية كبيرة ألن اآلالت‬ ‫الطباعية التي تستطيع انتاج صحيفة ذات‬ ‫صفحات ملونة كثيرة وكميات كبيرة في‬

‫فارقة في الطباعة الرقمية‪ ،‬وذلك يمنحها‬ ‫إمكانية هائلة في المستقبل‪ ،‬خاصة عند‬ ‫انتاج صحيفة محلية مخصصة لمنطقة‬ ‫معينة أو شارع معين في مدينة ما‪ .‬مع‬ ‫األخذ بعين االعتبار المعايير الديموغرافية‪،‬‬ ‫سواء فيما يتعلق بالمحتوى التحريري أو‬ ‫اإلعالنات‪ ،‬فالطباعة الرقمية هي الوحيدة‬ ‫التي تستطيع تحقيق ذلك‪.‬‬ ‫وتمثل الطباعة الرقمية اآلن أحد أهم أنماط‬ ‫النشر االلكتروني التي أدت إلي تغيير الكثير‬ ‫من المفاهيم الطباعية التقليدية‪ ،‬فبعد‬ ‫أن كانت الطباعة ثم التوزيع‪ ،‬أصبح اآلن‬ ‫التوزيع ثم الطباعة‪ ،‬أي أننا نحدد الكمية‬ ‫الموزعة قبل طباعتها‪ ،‬وتغير المفهوم الذي‬ ‫استمر طويال ومؤداه ان طبع الكميات‬ ‫الصغيرة يعني بالضرورة أن تكلفة النسخة‬ ‫الواحدة ستكون بالضرورة عالية‪.‬‬ ‫ونجحت الطباعة الرقمية في البداية في‬ ‫طباعة الكتب والمنشورات وغيرها‪ ،‬السيما‬ ‫المطبوعات محدودة الكمية ولكن لم يكتب‬ ‫لها نفس النجاح في طباعة الصحف بسبب‬ ‫سرعتها االنتاجية قليلة العدد التي ال تتيح‬ ‫طباعة الصحيفة ذات الصفحات المتعددة‬ ‫والملونة في الوقت الصغير المتاح لطباعة‬ ‫الصحيفة اليومية‪ ،‬كما لم تكن قادرة علي‬ ‫طبع المطبوعات التي يزيد مقاسها علي‬ ‫حجم‪ A3‬في بداياتها‪ ،‬وبالطبع فإن أغلب‬ ‫الصحف مقاسها أكبر من ذلك‪ ،‬كما كانت‬

‫تكلفة صيانة المطابع الرقمية أعلي من‬ ‫تكلفة صيانة آالت الطباعة التقليدية‬ ‫المساوية لها في االنتاجية‪ ،‬وأيضا لم تكن‬ ‫شبكات االتصاالت توفر السرعة الالزمة‬ ‫لنقل بعض الملفات الرقمية الالزمة ألنظمة‬ ‫التحكم في أنظمة الطباعة الرقمية عن بعد‪.‬‬ ‫واستطاعت الطباعة الرقمية تقديم حلول‬ ‫اقتصادية للطباعة نظرا للتوفير المتمثل في‬ ‫إلغاء تكلفة مراحل ما قبل الطبع‪ ،‬والطباعة‬ ‫الرقمية تقلل إلي حد كبير نسبة الفاقد في‬ ‫الورق‪ ،‬كما حققت الطباعة الرقمية امتيازا‬ ‫جديدا متمثال في الحصول علي طباعة‬ ‫مختلفة البيانات من نسخة ألخري فيما‬ ‫يعرف باسم الطباعة المشخصة أو الموجة‬ ‫لشخص ما حيث يمكن طباعة اسم‬ ‫المشترك وعنوانه علي نسخة الصحيفة‬ ‫المرسلة إليه‪ .‬ثم أضافت الطباعة الرقمية‬ ‫حال عبقريا إلمكانية إجراء تعديالت اللحظات‬ ‫األخيرة بسهولة عكس الطباعة التقليدية‬ ‫ألن األصل المراد طباعته ليس فيلما أو‬ ‫لوحا طباعيا بل هو ملف رقمي يمكن إجراء‬ ‫أي تعديل عليه حتي اللحظة األخيرة بدون‬ ‫مشاكل أو تكلفة عالية‪.‬‬ ‫كما أتاحت الطباعة الرقمية الطباعة‬ ‫عند الطلب‪ OnDemand‬حيث يمكن‬ ‫طباعة أي كمية‪ ،‬ولم يكن ذلك ممكنا في‬ ‫الطباعة التقليدية التي تستلزم حدا أدني‬ ‫للمطبوع‪ .‬واتاحت أيضا إضافة بعض‬

‫األعمال التشطيبية في خط االنتاج الطباعي‬ ‫كالتجليد والتغليف والقص‪ ،‬كما لم يعد‬ ‫مهما الحصول علي بروفة طباعية وذلك‬ ‫ألن أول مطبوع يعتبر بروفة حقيقية دقيقة‪،‬‬ ‫وتخلصت الطباعة الرقمية من الكثير‬ ‫من المشاكل الطباعية مثل عدم تطابق‬ ‫عالمات تسجيل فصل األلوان وعدم دقة‬ ‫فصل األلوان أو النمو النقطي‪.DotGain‬‬ ‫أيضا غيرت الطباعة الرقمية مفهوم الطباعة‬ ‫لدي دور النشر والمستخدمين علي‬ ‫السواء‪ ،‬فهي مناسبة إلنتاج نسخ قليلة من‬ ‫المطبوع بكفاءة عالية بأقل كم من النسخ‬ ‫الرديئة وكانت هذه مشكلة المشاكل في‬ ‫الطباعة التقليدية‪ ،‬كما يمكن ان تستخدم‬ ‫إلنتاج نسخ تجريبية تكون بمثابة بروفات‬

‫تعود فكرة الطباعة الرقمية لعام‪1991‬‬ ‫حيث ظهرت أنظمة تقوم على فكرة علمية‬ ‫ملخصها من الحاسب إلى المطبعة وتعني‬ ‫النقل المباشر من الكمبيوتر إلي اآللة‬ ‫الطابعة‪ ،‬دون المرور بمراحل التجهيزات‬ ‫الطباعية المعروفة من أفالم ومونتاج وألواح‬ ‫طباعة‪ ،‬وهو ما نطلق عليه الطباعة الرقمية‪،‬‬ ‫وقد عرضت أولي آالت الطباعة الرقمية في‬

‫عام‪ 1993‬في معرض أيبكس‪ IPEX‬وهو‬ ‫ثاني أهم معرض للطباعة بعد دروبا وينعقد‬ ‫مرة كل أربع سنوات ببرمنجهام ببريطانيا‪،‬‬ ‫إال أن التطور األهم للطباعة الرقمية ظهر‬ ‫في نهاية معرض› دروبا‪ ›2004‬الذي رفع‬

‫نبوءة أن الصحف اليومية سوف تطبع يوما‬ ‫ّ‬ ‫حدث‪.‬‬ ‫ما رقمياً‪ ،‬وهذا ما‬ ‫تتجلى الطبيعة التحويلية لقطاع النشر‬

‫بصورة أكبر من أي وقت مضى ويتم حاليا‬ ‫تطوير آخر حلول التطبيقات المختلفة‪،‬‬ ‫سواء تلك المخصصة للهواتف المتحركة‬ ‫«األجهزة القرصية‪ ،‬أو التطبيقات التحريرية‬ ‫واإلعالنية»‪ ،‬أو تلك المتعلقة بالطباعة‪ ،‬أو‬ ‫المرحلة التي تليها‪ .‬وقد تم تطوير كل تلك‬ ‫التطبيقات لتخفيف التكلفة عن كاهل‬ ‫الناشرين وتحقيق التقدم والتطور في مجال‬ ‫عملهم‪ ،‬باالضافة إلتاحة الفرص المالئمة‬ ‫لهم لنشر أعمالهم المهمة‪.‬‬ ‫وال يقتصر اعتماد مستقبل الطباعة الرقمية‬ ‫في الصحف على التكنولوجيا المعنية‪ ،‬كما‬ ‫أن المسألة ال تقتصر على استخدامات‬ ‫جديدة لتنفيذ المهام الناشئة‪ ،‬بقدر ما‬ ‫أن األمر يعتمد على تطوير استراتيجيات‬ ‫تتيح استخداما أمثل لمزايا محددة‪ .‬وال‬ ‫يمكن ألي شخص أن يتكهن بالتطورات‬ ‫المستقبلية بالتفصيل‪ ،‬ولكن مؤشرات تدل‬ ‫على أن الطباعة الرقمية قد أكدت مكانتها‪.‬‬

‫إمكانية كبيرة‪ ..‬وتحد أكبر‬

‫وتعتبر إمكانية تبادل المعلومات بحسب‬ ‫ما هو مطلوب‪ ،‬وطباعتها في تسلسل‬ ‫مرغوب في الصحف المختلفة‪ ،‬عالمة‬

‫شركة ‪ Asahi‬تطلق موقع إنترنت ‪ ,‬يحدد المنتج األلي‬ ‫أعلنت شركة (‪ )Asahi‬لإلنتاج ؛ وهي شركة‬ ‫رائدة في مجال تطوير لوحات الطباعة ؛ إلطالق‬ ‫تصميم موقع العالمة التجارية الجديدة بشكل‬ ‫منظم؛ لتسهيل عملية البحث على العمالء‬ ‫إليجاد جميع المعلومات التي يسعون إليها‪.‬‬ ‫وقال الدكتور (ديتر نيدرستادت) مدير‬ ‫التسويق التقني في شركة (‪« )Asahi‬أثناء‬ ‫عملية إعادة تصميم الموقع ‪ ,‬قضينا‬ ‫وقت طويل في التحدث مع العمالء حول‬ ‫متطلباتهم؛ حيث سيكون الموقع نافذة‬ ‫معلومات للعمالء إليجاد المعلومات التي‬ ‫يريدونها في متناول أيديهم‪ , ,‬مما يجعل إيجاد‬ ‫المعلومات عملية سهلة وسريعة ‪.‬‬ ‫يشير (نبدرستادت) إلى أن الشركة تقوم‬ ‫بإضافة عدد من موارد القيادة الفكرية إلى‬ ‫الموقع «يعد الكتاب اإللكتروني األول من‬ ‫نوعه» وأضاف (نيدرستادت) «أنه تم تصميم‬ ‫هذا الموقع لمساعدة أصحاب العالمات‬ ‫التجارية على فهم فوائد التكنولوجيا الجديدة‬ ‫بشكل أفضل ؛ ونحن متحمسون للغاية لطرح‬ ‫مثل هذه االداة في السوق والتي ستتناول‬ ‫العديد من التفاصيل الفنية وسيكون من‬

‫شأنها مساعدة العمالء على اتخاذ قرارات‬ ‫أفضل»‪.‬‬ ‫كما يوفر الموقع ميزة التوجيه لمساعدة‬ ‫العمالء على اختيار المناسب لهم ودعمهم؛‬

‫وقد قال (لويس دي نولف) المدير العام‬ ‫لشركة (دوميديا ) قال بذلنا جهدا ً كبيرا مع‬ ‫فريق عمل شركة (‪ )Asahi‬للوصول إلى هذا‬ ‫المشروع اإلبداعي ‪.‬‬

‫برلين – ألمانيا ‪ .‬ومن المتوقع أن يغطي‬ ‫معرض الطباعة العالمي القادم تسع‬ ‫قاعات في برلين ميسي وسيتناول عرض‬ ‫الشاشة والحلول الرقمية والنسيج‬ ‫والطباعة ‪.‬‬ ‫وسيتم عقده مرة أخرى في موقع‬ ‫المعرض األوروبي لتسجيل حلول‬ ‫لالتصاالت البصرية الغير مطبوعة‪.‬‬ ‫وأضافت (روز غوانوري) مديرة قسم في‬ ‫معرض (‪ )FESPA‬نحن دائما ً مانقوم‬ ‫بالتشاور مع المشاركين في المعرض‬ ‫على الموقع ؛ وتم اختيار مدينة برلين‬ ‫على انها واحدة من افضل المواقع ؛ ولقد‬ ‫تلقينا العديد من ردود األفعال اإليجابية‬ ‫للمشاركين في حدث برلين ؛ وقد تم‬ ‫بالفعل حجز المساحة المختارة وتجهيزها‬ ‫مسبقا ً ؛ حتى قبل بدء معرض (‪FESPA‬‬ ‫‪.)2017‬‬ ‫“ تعد مدينة برلين واحدة من أكثر المدن‬ ‫المفضلة لدى العديد من المشاركين؛‬ ‫وقد استطاعت برلين العام السابق حصد‬

‫العديد من ردود الفعل اإليجابية لدى‬ ‫المشاركين في (‪.)FESPA 2017‬‬ ‫فهي عاصمة ألمانيا وسابع أكبر دولة‬ ‫في أوروبا ؛ كما تعد مركز عالمي مشهور‬ ‫للثقافة والسياسة واإلعالم والعلوم؛‬ ‫واألهم من ذلك أن برلين تملك شبكة‬ ‫واسعة من السكك الحديدية تصل برلين‬ ‫بجميع المدن األوروبية والدولية الكبرى‪».‬‬ ‫يعتبر فندق برلين ميسي ؛ أحد أبرز‬ ‫منظمي المؤتمرات في العالم ؛ وهو في‬

‫موقع يسهل الوصول إليه ؛ ويقع على‬ ‫بعد ‪ 10‬دقائق فقط من مطار برلين ‪.‬‬ ‫ومن السهل الوصول إليه وهو قريب من‬ ‫مركز المدينة ؛ والتي تضم أكثر من ‪750‬‬ ‫فندق‪.‬‬ ‫وقد جذب معرض (‪ )FESPA‬السابق‬ ‫والذي عقد في برلين ؛ العديد من الزوار‬ ‫من أوروبا الشرقية وخاصة بولندا وروسيا‬ ‫باإلضافة إلى العديد من الزوار الذين أتو‬ ‫من أوروبا الغربية ‪.‬‬ ‫وقد تم حجز ‪ 10‬قاعات داخل الفندق من‬ ‫أجل معرض (‪ )FESPA 2017‬والذي‬ ‫عقد في فندق هامبورغ ميسي من ‪ 8‬إلى‬ ‫‪ 12‬أيار في واحد من أكبر معارض الطباعة‬ ‫العالمية‪.‬‬ ‫وقد تدفق األالف من مزودي خدمات‬ ‫الطباعة وصناعة الشارات من جميع‬ ‫أنحاء العالم للمشاركة في هذا المعرض‬ ‫وللتعرف على احدث التقنيات واالبتكارات‬ ‫في مجال التكنولوجيا ‪ ,‬وسوف يتم إطالق‬ ‫العشرات من المنتجات الجديدة ‪.‬‬

‫وحصلت ( ساندرا زومر ) من هولندا على‬ ‫جائزة نجمة الشباب لمشاركتها (الوهم)؛‬ ‫وهي مجموعة أزياء تركز على التشوه الهزلي‬ ‫لالتصاالت ؛ في محاولة للكشف عن الحدود‬ ‫بين اإلدراك الواقعي والفردي‪.‬‬ ‫وعلقت (ساندرا ) قائلة «أن االستسالم‬ ‫للوهم في المواد والهيئة التي يقدمها؛‬ ‫ليس موجودا ً سوى في أذهاننا « وقد فازت‬ ‫المصممة بمبلغ ‪ 1000‬يورو ؛ واالعتراف بها‬ ‫عالميا ً في مجتمع الطباعة‪.‬‬ ‫وكان الفائزين في التطبيق حسب‬ ‫التصنيفات كالتالي‪:‬‬ ‫ ‬

‫حين أن الشاشة تحافظ على متانتها وبقع‬ ‫األلوان واألصباغ الخاصة التي تستخدمها‪.‬‬ ‫ويتم اختيار التقنيات الرقمية القصيرة‬ ‫المدى والتي تملك مستويات أعلى من‬ ‫التعقيد في دقة الصورة ‪.‬‬ ‫منذ ذلك الحين يتم عرض المشاركات‬ ‫بمعرض (‪ ) FESPA‬على االنترنيت ؛ ليتمكن‬ ‫الناس من التصويت لصالح المشاركات‬ ‫المفضلة لديهم ؛ للفوز بجائزة المشاركة‬ ‫األكثر شعبية في السنة‪.‬‬ ‫ويتم أيضا ً عرض جميع المشاركات‬ ‫بمعرض (‪ )FESPA‬لعام ‪ 2017‬والذي‬ ‫عقد من ‪ 8‬إلى ‪ 12‬أيار ( مايو ) في هامبورغ‬ ‫ميسي – ألمانيا ‪.‬‬ ‫وفي هذا الصدد قام ( دنكان ماكوان ) رئيس‬ ‫الفالية بتقديم التهاني لجميع الفائزين‬ ‫«تهانينا لجميع المتنافسين والفائزين‬ ‫بالجوائز لهذا العام؛ جميع المشاركين‬ ‫استطاعوا بشكل موجز إظهار قوة الطباعة‬ ‫في خلق التأثير ‪.‬‬ ‫أنه ألمر رائع أن تقوم بمشاركة هذه األمثلة‬ ‫التي تحمل أفضل الممارسات واإلبداعات؛‬ ‫والتي تعكس شعار ( ‪ ) FESPA‬لعام ‪2017‬‬ ‫(أتحداك أن تكون مختلف) إذ قامت هذه‬ ‫المشاركات بإظهار مجموعة متنوعة من‬ ‫التطبيقات والتي يمكن من خاللها الطباعة‬ ‫على شكل أوسع من ذي قبل ‪.‬‬ ‫إن الهدف وراء تقديم الجوائز ؛ هو التعرف‬ ‫على المواهب العالمية الموجودة في هذه‬ ‫الصناعة ؛ وتقديم اإللهام لألخرين ؛‬ ‫ومن خالل رؤيتي لجودة المشاركات هذا‬ ‫العام ؛ أنا متأكد من أننا قد بلغنا الهدف‬ ‫المنشود»‪.‬‬

‫تحتفل جوائز (‪ FESPA‬بتميز الطباعة ؛‬ ‫وتقوم بدعوة العديد من الشركات العالمية‬ ‫المختصة بالطباعة؛ وتقوم هذه الشركات‬ ‫بعرض منتجاتها في محالة إلثبات أنفسهم‬ ‫عن طريق تقديم أعمالهم األكثر أبداعا ً و‬ ‫إلهاماً‪ .‬وهذا العام تم اختيار الفائزين في‬

‫مكتب ( ‪ )FESPA‬الجديد في ( دوركينغ )‬ ‫خالل ‪ 2 – 1‬أذار (مارس )؛ من قبل لجنة‬ ‫مستقلة من خبراء هذه الصناعة‪.‬‬ ‫ومع وجود مثل هذه المشاركات العالية‬ ‫الجودة ؛ فإن عمل لجنة التحكيم لن يكون‬ ‫بتلك السهولة أبداً‪( .‬غرايم ريتشاردسون‬ ‫لوك) مدير المبيعات والعمليات في‬ ‫فيكتور – وهو أحد اعضاء لجنة التحكيم في‬ ‫(‪ )FESPA‬لهذا العام ؛ علق قائال ً «بما أن‬ ‫العديد من المشاركات داخل المعرض ذات‬ ‫جودة عالية؛ هذا األمر جعل مهمة التحكيم‬ ‫صعبة للتميز في العمل التقني وحده ‪.‬‬ ‫ولحسن الحظ ؛ هناك العديد من المعايير‬ ‫التي سيتم تسجيلها من أجل الوصول إلى‬ ‫آراء متوافقة بين أعضاء لجنة الحكم وبدون‬ ‫جدال كبير»‪.‬‬ ‫“ مع وجود ‪ 14‬فئة مختلفة ومئات‬ ‫المشاركات التي يتعين تقييمها ؛ كان تحديا ً‬ ‫كبيرا ً للجنة التحكيم ؛ أن تقوم بمراجعة‬ ‫جميع المشاركات خالل يومين فقط ‪.‬‬ ‫وحتى مع وجود خبرة ‪ 30‬عاما ً لدى جميع‬ ‫أعضاء اللجنة في مجال هذه الصناعة ؛ إال أن‬ ‫نطاق التقنيات المستخدمة يقدم صعوبة‬ ‫كبيرة في تقدير األساليب المستخدمة»‪.‬‬ ‫وأضاف غريم « على الرغم من إن العمل‬ ‫مع أعضاء لجنة الحكم يمكن أن يكسبك‬ ‫الكثير من الخبرة لضمان معرفة الفائز‬ ‫المنشود لربح الجائزة؛ كما أنه امتياز كبير أن‬ ‫تكون أحد أعضاء هذه اللجنة ؛ بالرغم من أنه‬ ‫عمل شاق إال أنه يستحق ذلك»‪.‬‬ ‫وقد قام أعضاء لجنة التحكيم باختيار‬ ‫الفائزين على أساس معرفتهم وخبرتهم‬ ‫المتخصصة في مجاالت الطباعة وقاموا‬ ‫تسليط الضوء على الرؤية اإلبداعية المذهلة‬ ‫للمشتركين في التطبيقات المطبوعة ؛‬ ‫والمطبوعات الرقمية‪.‬‬

‫أعلن (‪ )FESPA‬عن أسماء الفائزين لعام‬ ‫‪ 2017‬في حفل عشاء‪ ،‬واجتذب االحتفال‬ ‫مشاركات من أكثر من ‪ 37‬دولة ؛ وكانت‬ ‫الجوائز األولى للمشاركين من أنحاء أوروبا‬ ‫وآسيا وأستراليا‪.‬‬ ‫وقد شملت الجوائز هذا العام ‪ ,‬االبتكارات‬ ‫المختلفة عبر جميع الفئات؛ األحذية‬ ‫المطبوعة بتقنية ثالثية االبعاد ‪ ,‬وأكثر من ‪30‬‬ ‫قميص مشاركين في المسابقة ‪ ,‬وتم اقتراح‬ ‫أكثر من ‪ 31‬نقطة بيع لمنتجات بطابع‬ ‫خاص‪ ,‬و‪ 26‬عرض للمنتجات المطبوعة‬ ‫على الورق واللوحات اإلعالنية للفئات األكثر‬ ‫شعبية بين جميع المشاركين‪.‬‬ ‫بعد أربعة أسابيع من التصويت عبر‬ ‫اإلنترنيت‪ ,‬تم منح جائزة احتفال (‪)FESPA‬‬ ‫لعام ‪ 2017‬للمنتجات األكثر شعبية لشركة‬ ‫(‪ )OMUS‬األسترالية التي تستخدم تقنية‬ ‫طباعة ثالثية األبعاد على منتجاتها ؛ والتي‬ ‫تقوم بعرض منتجاتها في متاجر (لويس‬ ‫فوتون) المنبثقة عن الشركة‪.‬‬ ‫كان الهيكل على شكل قبة وكانت مطبوعة‬ ‫بتقنية ثالثية االبعاد في ‪ 48‬قسم مركبة‬ ‫ومغلفة بغطاء رقيق‪ .‬وألن المواد كانت‬ ‫محدودة ؛ كان البد من وجود مواد اضافية‬ ‫الستكمال المشروع‪ .‬وقام الفريق باستخدام‬ ‫حوالي ‪ 900‬كيلو جرام من المواد الطباعية‬

‫الهالمية؛ وذهبت جائزة أفضل عرض‬ ‫لشركة (أتيلير فوير سيبدرك لورينز بويلي)‬ ‫السويسرية؛ لمشاركتها في فئة عروض‬ ‫التأثيرات الخاصة (لو موند دي إفيكتس )‪.‬‬ ‫خالل العرض استحوذت صحيفة تجمع بين‬ ‫فئات متنوعة من تقنيات طباعة الشاشات‬ ‫المختلفة على اهتمام جميع أعضاء لجنة‬ ‫التحكيم لجميع الفئات ‪ ,‬وهي صحيفة‬ ‫عالمية تعد أفضل مثال على األبتكار واألبداع‪.‬‬ ‫مستشار الطباعة على الشاشة (جوزيف‬ ‫توبيال سولر) والذي كان أحد أعضاء لجنة‬ ‫التحكيم علق قائال ً « يمكن أن يملك الناس‬ ‫آراء مختلفة عن صناعة طباعة الشاشة ؛ وأن‬

‫يجدو أن هذه الصناعة تأخذ في االنخفاض؛‬ ‫لكن األفكار واإلبداعات التي نراها في جميع‬ ‫الفئات المشتركة ؛ يسلط الضوء على أن‬ ‫حال هذه الصناعة هو عكس االعتقادات‬ ‫السائدة تماماً»‪.‬‬ ‫“طباعة الشاشة هنا هذا العام إلثبات أنها‬ ‫تقنية ال يمكن االستغناء عنها وخاصة‬ ‫بالنسبة للتطبيقات المتعددة؛ وبالنسبة إلي‬ ‫فأن طباعة الشاشة التقليدية حرفة خاصة ال‬ ‫تزال تقوم بمفاجأتي حتى األن‪.‬‬ ‫ومع استخدام بعض التأثيرات الخاصة‬ ‫يمكننا إنجاز تصميمات ورسومات‬ ‫وملصقات تخطف األنفاس‪».‬‬
