Carta de bienvenida | Welcome letter

T

erminó el mes de enero y con él uno de los más activos para Andes Líneas Aéreas ya que hemos vuelto a estar involucrados en el traslado de organizadores y equipos de los participantes del Rally Dakar Argentina-Chile-Bolivia 2015.

Una operación que exige una compleja logística ya que los tiempos de conexión entre una etapa y otra son exiguos y todo debe funcionar como un complejo sistema de relojería y donde nada puede fallar. Ni siquiera el clima!!

Pero no fue la única actividad ligada al deporte ya que también hicimos un chárter para llevar a los participantes europeos del Tour de San Luis, una de las competencias ciclísticas de mayor jerarquía de Sudamérica.

Y antes de que podamos decir Carnaval, ya nos encontramos planificando varios vuelos chárter para los grandes torneos de fútbol a nivel continental como la Copa Libertadores y la Copa América.

Otros de los vuelos especiales que tuvimos en este mes fue el traslado de la banda Foo Fighters a Brasil quienes luego de su presentación en el Estadio único de La Plata continuaron con su tour sudamericano en Río de Janeiro y Colombia.

Y mientras recuperamos fuerzas para seguir adelante en este verano continuamos con nuestros vuelos regulares entre Salta y Buenos Aires y de Buenos Aires a Puerto Madryn para que argentinos y extranjeros conozcan dos de los destinos más hermosos de la Argentina.

anuary has come to an end and with it one of the most active months for Andes Líneas Aéreas since we have been serving organizers and teams for those who have been participating in the Argentina-Chile-Bolivia Dakar Rally 2015. This is an operation that requires complex logistics since the connection times between one stage and another are close and everything must function like clockwork and nothing can go wrong. Not even the weather!!

But this was not the only sports-related activity since we also provided charter service for the European participants in the Tour de San Luis, one of the major cycling competitions in South America.

And before we can talk about Carnaval, we are in the midst of planning various charter flights for the major football tournaments like the Copa Libertadores and the Copa América.

Other special flights that we had this month were the transport of the Foo Fighters Band to Brazil, then to La Plata Stadium and on to Río de Janeiro and Colombia for their South American Tour And while we gathered our energies to continue this summer with our regular flights between Salta and Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires to Puerto Madryn for Argentine and foreign travelers who know these two most beautiful destinations in Argentina.

Welcome es un gagdet único, ya que es el primero en detectar la identidad de las personas con sólo analizar las caras; está construida en aluminio anodizado y es capaz de grabar vídeo con calidad 1080p. Cuenta con una cámara Full HD de 130 grados de cobertura con LEDs infrarrojos para visión nocturna, conexión a Internet y una ranura de tarjetas SD para almacenar el video, si así se configura.

La configuración del sistema se realiza desde la app, disponible para iOS y Android, que permite controlar el sistema y recibir las diferentes alertas de presencia.

arece una flor íntegramente verde, pero no lo es. Su intrincado diseño nos refiere a algunos aspectos de la ciencia aptos para un interesante programa de Adrián Paenza, aunque muy bien puede ser vedette en una receta de Ariel Rodríguez Palacios o Guillermo Calabrese.

Pero ¿qué es? El Romanescu es una verdura de la familia del broccoli y el coliflor. Algunos dicen que es un híbrido entre éstos, y otros afirman que es una variedad verde de la coliflor italiana, que son las más antiguas.

También conocido como brócoli romanesco o coliflor romana, es una flor comestible rica en Vitamina C, fibra soluble y carotenoides que puede consumirse tanto cruda como cocida, al horno o a la plancha. Su sabor no es ni tan intenso como la coliflor, ni tan suave como el brócoli.

Una de sus más llamativas características es que presenta geometría fractal en su estructura, ¿qué? Es un objeto geométrico cuya estructura básica, fragmentada o irregular, se repite a diferentes escalas y es demasiado irregular para ser descrito en términos geométricos tradicionales. Además es autosimilar, su forma es hecha de copias más pequeñas de la misma figura.

Tan perfecto, tan extraño! Así es el Romanescu, una verdura que parece extraterrestre, y que posee grandes cualidades para el que la consume. Su composición fibrosa ayuda a controlar y disminuir el nivel de colesterol; debido a su efecto ligeramente diurético y depurativo de toxinas es beneficioso para los riñones; es anticancerígena y protectora del cerebro. ¿La sumaría a su menú?

Its intricate design relates to some aspects of science that might seem to belong on an interesting tv show of Adrián Paenza, although it very well might be a star in a recipe of Ariel Rodriguez Palacios or Calabrese.

But, what is it? Romanescu is a green that is part of the broccoli and cauliflower family. Some say that it is a hybrid between these two and other says that it is a green variety of Italian cauliflower that has ancient origins.

It is also known as Romanescu broccoli or Roman cauliflower, it is a consumable flower rich in Vitamin C, soluble fiber, and carotenes that can be eaten raw or cooked, from the oven or the skillet. Its flavor is not as strong as cauliflower, nor as mild as broccoli.

One of the most attention-getting characteristics is its geometric shape, what is it? It is a geometric object whose structure is basic, fragmented or irregular, that is repeated in different scales and is too irregular to be described in geometric traditional terms. In addition, it is self-created, its form is made of copies of forms that each one is smaller than the former.

So perfect, so strange! Thus is Romanescu, a green that seems from another place and that possesses great qualities for our consumption. Its fibrous composition help to control and reduce cholesterol in the blood. Owing to its light diuretic effect, it helps to detoxify and is beneficial to the kidneys.

l programa EcoBicis fue lanzada por el Gobierno de Salta junto al Banco Macro, que donó las 200 bicicletas, cascos, candados, cestos, estacionadores y guardería para fomentar la actividad física y la utilización de la bicicleta como medio de transporte más saludable y menos contaminante.

El acto de lanzamiento se tiñó de color y entretenimiento en La Caldera cuando, luego del corte de cinta inaugural y de la bendición de las nuevas instalaciones y equipamientos, las autoridades presentes montaron las nuevas bicicletas para dar una vuelta que simboliza la apertura de una nueva propuesta. Allí, mezclados entre alumnos y docentes de escuelas y vecinos de la zona, se encontraba el gobernador Juan Manuel Urtubey, el presidente de la entidad bancaria, Jorge Brito y el intendente local Luis Mendaña.

Realmente, el sedentarismo de ir en auto o micro a todos lados no permite afianzarse con la naturaleza lo suficiente como para disfrutar al máximo los exquisitos paisajes salteños. Es necesario vivirlos, no sólo verlos.

Infinidad son los circuitos que se pueden diseñar en las localidades en donde ya está funcionando la propuesta de Turismo Sustentable: Cachi, San Carlos y La Caldera.

Estar bajo el sol y sentir el viento en la cara es sin dudas una cuenta pendiente para aquel turista que busca relajarse y escaparse de la vorágine del año en sus vacaciones.

“Con este tipo de iniciativas seguimos yendo para adelante,

he EcoBicis program was started by the Government of Salta along with the Macro Bank, that donated some 200 bicycles, helmits, locks, baskets, parking stations, and guards in order to promote physical activity and the use of the bicycle as a means of healthy and less polluting transport.

The launch was given color and entertainment in La Caldera when, after the cutting of the inaugural ribbon and the benefit of new installations and equipment, the authorities got on new bikes to take a symbolic ride. Mixed in with students and school teachers, along with neighbors in the area, was Governor Juan Manuel Urtubey and the president of the bank, Jorge Brito, and the local mayor, Luis Mendaña.

In fact, the sedentary style of traveling by auto or micro does not support nature enough in order to truly enjoy to the maximum the exquisite Saltan landscapes.

It is essential to live them, not just see them.

Es una de las maneras más completas para satisfacer las necesidades económicas, sociales y hasta estéticas, y lo que es muy importante también, respetando la integridad cultural, la ecología y la convivencia en un medio dedicado al recreo.

Por eso es imprescindible contar con valores que sean proyectados desde los mismos salteños. El presidente del Banco Macro, Jorge Brito, especificó que se busca fomentar el turismo sustentable y acentuar el compromiso de la entidad para con las comunidades donde opera. Y además, puntualizó que la responsabilidad social empresaria tiene que ver con generar fuentes de trabajo.

TRABAJO EN CONJUNTO Al parecer las actividades saludables no son el único valor que se intenta difundir, sino también la inclusión. El intendente de La Caldera, Luis Mendaña, resaltó la articulación público/privado que se da por el trabajo que se viene realizando en materia turística en la provincia y en La Caldera. A su vez destacó la responsabilidad social empresaria del Banco Macro, la cual forma parte de la visión integradora que tiene este gobierno en apoyo a los municipios.

Por su parte, el ministro de Cultura y Turismo, Mariano Ovejero, aportó: “Estos proyectos potencian el crecimiento turístico del destino generando otras actividades para que puedan realizar los turistas que nos visitan y se suma a toda la oferta que tiene Cachi, con excelentes servicios turísticos”.

El ministro Ovejero aseguró que el “proyecto potenciará el crecimiento turístico y servirá como promoción de los atractivos de la localidad para los turistas que visitan la provincia”.

Se abonará un bono contribución de $15 por hora, tanto para turistas como para lugareños, de 9 a 19 horas. Se podrá recorrer una caminería y el pueblo en general

Problemas desde siempre

Su creador el arquitecto y escultor Eduardo Catalano, quien realizó entre otras obras el proyecto del Pabellón 2 y 3 de Ciudad Universitaria, participó del montaje de la escultura, que estuvo a cargo de la empresa Lockheed

a Plaza de las Naciones Unidas sobre la Avenida Figueroa Alcorta, al lado de la Facultad de Derecho de la UBA, cambió su fisonomía para siempre cuando en 2002 se emplazó la escultura de una gran flor realizada en acero inoxidable y aluminio donada por el arquitecto argentino Eduardo Catalano y se convirtió en punto de visita de cuantos llegaran a la ciudad en plan de turismo.

Es que no solamente sigue siendo la flor más grande del mundo (mide 22 metros de alto y pesa 18 toneladas) sino que su original mecanismo hacía abrir y cerrar sus pétalos con la salida y puesta del sol, como lo hacen tantas flores en la naturaleza.

Lamentablemente en el 2011 se paralizó y quedó abierta permanentemente. Por supuesto que no perdió su encanto y gracia, pero sí el asombro de quienes esperaban el ocaso para verla ocultarse tímidamente de los ojos de los extraños. Pero el 2015 trae buenas noticias.

Fue el mismo Catalano quien desde el mismo momento de su confección advirtió sobre las fallas de la obra a la Lockheed, por la mala instalación de un pétalo que luego dañaría la estructura.

Incluso en 2003, el escultor le envió una carta al presidente de la Lockheed donde instaba a la compañía a cumplir con la garantía vigente y reparar el pétalo dañado. Pero algo inesperado sucedió: Lockheed se fue del país y se transformó en la Empresa Argentina de Aviación desde mediados de 2009. Por lo

tanto, como si se tratara una paradoja, el monumento desde entonces se encuentra bajo garantía de una empresa que no existe más.

Al fallecer su creador en 2010, y tras una inspección del ingeniero Angel Guzmán, subcontratista de la obra y persona de confianza de Catalano, se decidió inmovilizar la flor para evitar mayores daños. Desde entonces se esperaba que la escultura volviera a cobrar movimiento.

Se acerca la solución En el 2010, aparecieron nuevos intentos de reparar la estructura. El impulso fue la mues-

tra de Ciencia y Tecnología, Tecnópolis, que organizaría el gobierno nacional en la capital argentina, pero que fue suspendida por la falta de autorización del gobierno de la Ciudad.

Finalmente en octubre del año pasado se iniciaron las obras de reparación de la flor, especialmente sobre uno de los pétalos de 3500 kilos de peso que podía caerse. Para apuntalarlo se debió vaciar la fuente que la rodea y luego proceder a su arreglo, esto junto a la reparación del motor que permite que abra y cierre sus pétalos demorará un par de meses más, pero se estima que en marzo venidero veremos nuevamente a la flor en toda su gloria

uien viaja por primera vez a la Patagonia argentina, especialmente a su costa marítima, siente en carne propia uno de los más constantes y persistentes fenómenos meteorológicos que está presente en casi todo momento del año: el viento.

Pero ese viento que para muchos visitantes es molesto es, a su vez, uno de los mayores aliados a la hora de desarrollar una disciplina deportiva como el windsurf, tan popular en la costa de Puerto Madryn.

Por supuesto que no es el único lugar de nuestro sur donde se puede practicar el windsurf (que en inglés combina surf + viento) ya que alcanza con que haya un espejo de agua medianamente protegido y viento constante para empujar la vela permitiéndole avanzar sobre las olas maniobrando la vela con los brazos para imprimirle la dirección adecuada. Es posible ver a estos navegantes solitarios sobre sus tablas en lugares tan diferentes como los lagos cordilleranos en Bariloche o San Martín de los Andes; en la Ría del Deseado en Santa Cruz y en las costas de Chubut.

¿Porqué en Madryn?

no de los sueños más locos de la tecnología automotriz ha sido por mucho tiempo el pensar en un auto con las mejores prestaciones posibles, que a la hora de recargar su fuente de energía, pudiera simplemente enchufarse al toma corriente de nuestras casas.

Si bien todavía no es posible pensar en un vehículo totalmente independiente de las estaciones de servicio (y del agotable recurso del combustible derivado del petróleo) las automotrices se van acercando muy rápidamente hacia ese modelo.

Una de las soluciones propuestas ha sido de un tiempo a esta parte la creación de los autos híbridos, que si bien llevan un motor de nafta o gasoil, cuentan con unas baterías recargables con el movimiento del mismo vehículo con lo cual el consumo de combustible fósil se reduce increíblemente, necesitándose al momento del encendido del motor y cuando las baterías internas se agotan.

Pero ahora un nuevo competidor sale a escena: los híbridos plug-in, y Volvo se pone en punta con su XC90 T8.

Es que las automotrices están buscando que los coches nuevos sean cada vez más respetuosos con el medio ambiente en lo que a emisiones de CO2 (monóxido de carbono) se refiere.

Si a esto le añadimos que la mayoría de los compradores consideran los consumos como un factor determinante a la hora de comprar un vehículo con una u otra motorización, no es de extrañar que cada vez más marcas opten por ofrecer modelos con tecnología híbrida, combinando un motor de

nafta y un motor eléctrico.

Además, cada vez es más común que esas baterías eléctricas, no sólo se recarguen aprovechando la energía generada en la frenada, sino que se puedan enchufar a una corriente eléctrica, como haría un coche eléctrico y así su autonomía aumenta considerablemente.

esde 1974, el fenómeno Hello Kitty es uno de los signos más populares de la cultura pop que no pasa de moda y que se utiliza en gran cantidad de elementos para niñas.

Pero este adorable personaje, amado en todo el mundo, trae a sus espaldas una historia por demás misteriosa y llena de mitos urbanos.

Esta creación de la firma japonesa Sanrio salió del lápiz de Yuko Shimizu y se vendió enseguida como pan caliente.

Llegó a Estados Unidos dos años más tarde para causar furor y expandirse por 70 países más. Lanzado primero como un monedero, posteriormente su figura adornó otros miles de productos como bolsos, cuadernos, peluches

y toda clase de artículos portátiles, generando en la actualidad ingresos por más de 280 millones de dólares anuales.

This creation from the Japanese firm Sanrio came from the pencil of Yuko Shimizu and sold quickly like hot bread. Launched first as a coin purse, later as a figure, it adorned thousands of products like bags, notebooks, stuffed dolls, and just about every kind of carry-around item, generating a present income

of more than 280 million dollars a year.

It creator did not take long to see what was happening and began to visit stores to see what trends in clothing were, along with other tastes for a new family. From that moment on, Kitty entered the marketplace with force and became permanent, not a passing fancy.

Por un lado, la inexpresividad de esta muñeca, según el investigador Roland Nozomu Kelts, fue ideada para realzar su atractivo, ya que eso la convierte en el juguete interactivo perfecto.

Tras el primer diseño realizado por Shimizu, Yuko Yamaguchi se convirtió en la diseñadora oficial de Hello Kitty, quien aclaró en una entrevista concedida el 2008 el porqué el personaje no tenía boca.

“Es para que la gente que la mire pueda proyectar sus propios sentimientos en ella, ya que tiene una cara inexpresiva. Kitty parece feliz cuando la gente es feliz y parece triste cuando ellos están tristes.

Por esta razón psicológica nosotros pensamos que ella no debía estar ligada a una emoción y ese es el motivo porque el personaje no tiene boca”.

El lado oscuro Pero no falta la versión que explica el origen y las características de esta muñeca desde una leyenda urbana.

Esta historia afirma que la hija de la diseñadora Shimizu sufría de un agresivo cáncer de boca y ésta, desesperada por mantenerla con vida, habría hecho un pacto con el diable a cambio de devolverle la salud a su hija.

A cambio, debía crear un personaje y una marca que fuera famosa en todo el mundo, a fin de atraer a millones de potenciales seguidores. De esta manera, con cada compra de un artículo afín, se haría una especie de ofrenda involuntaria al príncipe de las tinieblas.

Finalmente, el diablo le habría devuelto la salud a la niña y, a su vez, creó un adorable personaje infantil que llegaría a cada niña alrededor del mundo. Eso sí, para recordar el calvario por el que había pasado su hija, la diseñadora se preocupó de crear al personaje sin boca
