edio año ya transcurrió y seguimos teniendo buenas noticias. Por un lado nuestro crecimiento en los últimos años ha sido de un 800 por ciento, gracias a la suma de nuevos destinos y a la incorporación de aviones de nueva generación que nos permiten transportar más argentinos dentro de nuestro país.

También nos sentimos orgullosos de poder generar más puestos de empleo, ya sea por gente nueva que se suma al sector aerocomercial así como el regreso al país de muchos profesionales que se habían ido al exterior y ahora encuentran en su país las condiciones necesarias para progresar en la carrera que abrazaron con pasión, la de volar.

Por otro lado hemos renovado la certificación IOSA (IATA Operational Safety Audit Program) que otorga la Asociación de Transporte Aéreo Internacional, siendo éste el instrumento para la cooperación entre aerolíneas, que promueve la seguridad, fiabilidad, confianza y economía en el transporte aéreo en beneficio de toda la industria aérea y sus pasajeros.Todo ello reafirma el compromiso asumido por Andes Líneas Aéreas en aquel diciembre de 2015, cuando se presentaba a la Audiencia Pública convocada por el Ministerio de Transporte, en la que se le pidió al Ministro Guillermo Dietrich: “Dénnos la oportunidad de crecer”.

Hoy todo apunta a seguir creciendo. “Andes tiene talentos, tiene posibilidades y tiene ganas de crecer. Estamos convencidos de que hoy, nuestro futuro no tiene techo.

Nuestro límite es la imaginación”. Por todo ello no queda otro camino que el del esfuerzo, el de seguir apostando a la enorme capacidad de nuestra gente y agradeciendo la confianza depositada por Uds., nuestros pasajeros, que nos eligen día a día para seguir transportando más argentinos.

Add to these good development, we have renewed IOSA certification (IATA Operational Safety Audit Program) that is given by the International Air Transport Association, this being the joint instrument that promotes safety, reliability, trustworthiness, and economy in air transport that benefits the whole air and passenger industry.

All of this reaffirms the commitment assumed by Andes Líneas Aéreas in December, 2015, when we met in the Public Hearing of the Ministry of Transport, in which the minister, Guillermo Dietrich was asked: “Give us the opportunity to grow.”

Today everything points to that continuing growth. “Andes has talents, has possibilities, has the desire to grow. We are convinced that today our future has no limits. Our limit is the imagination”.

There is only one way that of effort, betting on the immense capacity of our people, and being grateful for the confidence placed upon us, our passengers, that daily evidences that movement of more Argentines.

l Dorado es uno de esos peces estrella del país: tiene tanto de brillo como de sabor, y para el pescador es una experiencia única por la combatividad del animal, lo que exige pericia y mucha paciencia. Es un plato típico del Litoral, ya que se lo encuentra en aguas del Paraná, Uruguay, Paraguay y el Bermejo. Una de las mejores maneras de saborearlo es a la parrilla. Después de limpiar un Dorado de entre cuatro y cinco kilos, eso sí sin sacarle las escamas, se abre por la mitad. Se condimenta con sal, pimienta y jugo de limón. Luego se cortan dos cebollas y un morrón en juliana que se cocinan en una sartén con aceite de girasol hasta que se doren. Sobre el dorado abierto se pone un ajo y un poco de perejil finamente picados, distribuido sobre toda la superficie del pescado. Encima se coloca la cebolla y el morrón ya cocidos. Sobre eso se ponen rodajas de tomates frescos en un solo lado del pescado y se pocede a cerrarlo, atándolo con dos o tres vueltas de hilo, y se coloca sobre papel aluminio y se envuelve bien firme.

Llevar a la parrilla con brasa moderada para cocinarlo lentamente, de una a dos horas. Para comprobar la cocción, basta con pincharlo y comprobar que esté tierno, ¡Ahora sí, a disfrutar!

he Dorado is one of the favorite fish in the country: it looks as good as its taste, and for the fisherman it is a unique experience because of the combativeness of the animal, it requires skill and much patience. It is a familiar dish along the coast and is found in the waters of Paraná, Uruguay, Paraguay, and the Bermejo.

One of the best ways to enjoy it is on the grille. After preparing a Dorado that weighs between four or five kilos, without removing the scales, it is opened in half.

Seasoned with salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Then cut up two onions and a pepper in julian slices, cooked in a pan with sunflower oil until browned. On the open dorado, put garlic and little parsley finely chopped all over the surface of the fish. Put cooked onions and peppers on top. Over this goes slices of fresh tomatoes on one side of the fish and close it up with a couple of pieces of string and wrap it tightly in aluminum foil.

Put it on the grille with moderate heat and cook slowly for an hour or two. To test its readiness, prick and see if it is tender. Now, enjoy!

El Global Citizen Festival, curado musicalmente por Chris Martin, llegará por primera vez al país en el marco del G20, en noviembre.

E

ste evento es organizado por Global Poverty Project, una organización que tiene como objetivo la erradicación de pobreza extrema del mundo. Su primera realización fue en 2012, en Nueva York.

Al parecer el mismo tendrá lugar en el marco del G20 en Buenos Aires, y será organizado por Chris Martin, líder y cantante de Coldplay, además del curador oficial del festival hasta 2030. Se estima que sería el 29 de noviembre.

El Global Citizen tuvo siempre como sede principal al Central Park de Manhattan, aunque en 2016 también se organizó en Mumbai, India, y el año pasado le tocó el turno a Hamburgo, ciudad sede del G20.

Aunque los artistas que se presenten aún se desconocen, hay unos para comenzar a ilusionarse: primero, el mismísimo Martin participaría de la edición; luego, sólo hace falta ver la extensa lista de músicos convocados en otras ediciones para entender la categoría que se maneja: Coldplay, The Black Keys, Foo Fighters, Beyoncé, Sting, Kings of Leon, Ed Sheeran, Cat Stevens, Metallica, Rihanna...

his event is organized by Global Poverty Project, an organization that has as its goal the erradication of extreme poverty in the world. Its first performance was in 2012 in New York.

It is estimated that the concert will take place for the first time under the framework of the G20 in Buenos Aires and will be organized by Chris Martin, leader and singer of Coldplay, also the head of the festival until 2030. Plans are that it will take place November 29.

El mejor whisky es japonés The best whisky is Japanese Ni escocés ni inglés ni americano: la bebida dorada por excelencia viene de tierras niponas, lejos de las abundantes praderas de las islas que lo vieron crecer.

l World Whiskies Award es la premiación más importante de la industria del whisky, que se hace en Inglaterra. Y una vez más el premio de mayor resonancia se lo llevó una marca ¡japonesa! Nada de escoceses, ingleses o irlandeses, el mejor whisky del mundo viene de tierras niponas. Y, como si fuera poco, la edición 2018 fue la que más galardones mandó fuera del Reino Unido: ganaron americanos, canadienses y sudafricanos, entre otros.

El Hakushu de 25 años, producto de la destilería Suntory (sí, la que publicitó Bill Murray en la famosa escena de Perdidos en Tokio), se impuso en la categoría “Best Single Malt”, la más trascendente de todas. Y si uno quiere comprobar por qué, solamente debe desembolsar 2500 euros… El Hakushu es casi una rareza, porque es un whisky japonés ahumado, que normalmente escasean en ese país.

Para el colmo de los británicos, los otros dos premios más buscados también fueron a parar a Japón: el “Best Blended Malt” fue para el Taketsuru de 17 años, un whisky de la destilería Nikka que cuesta unos 200 euros; y el “Best Blended limited release”, fue para el Ichiro Malt and Grain Limited Edition que se consigue desde los 600 euros. Al parecer el alumno está vez le ganó al maestro!

Not Scottish, English, nor American: the golden drink of excellence comes from japanese soil, far from the rich fields of the islands where it was developed.

he World Whiskies Award is the most important prize of the whisky industry that comes from England.

And one more time the highest prize echoed with a Japanese branch. Not in Scotland, England, or Ireland, the best whisky in the world came from Japanese lands. And, as if that were not enough, the 2018 edition was the most awarded outside the United Kingdom: winning over Americans, Canadians, and South Africans, among others.

25 year-old Hakushu, a product of the Suntory Distillery (yes, the one publicized by Bill Murray in the famous scene from Lost in Tokyo), one in the category “Best Single Malt”, the most important of all. And if one wants to know why, you will only have to pay 2,500 euros…

Hakushu is rare because it is a cured Japanese whisky that is scarce in that country.

Pelota de Papel II Pelota de Papel II (Part Two) Se publicó la segunda parte del libro que recopila cuentos escritos por jugadores de fútbol.

ras el (¿inesperado?) éxito de la primera parte, se publicó recientemente Pelota de Papel II, el libro que recopila cuentos escritos por futbolistas, retirados y en actividad. El proyecto, al igual que el primero, fue capitaneado por ex jugador Sebastián Domínguez (Newell’s Old Boys, Estudiantes de la Plata, Vélez, entre otros clubes).

“Los futbolistas, que siempre fueron los dueños de los hechos, ahora piden la palabra para contar lo que soñaron, lo que vivieron, lo que recuerdan, lo que imaginan. Ellos, que tuvieron una inteligencia superior para jugar y que siempre han sabido contar de una manera atractiva su experiencia, ahora deciden escribir sobre aquello que aman”, señala en el prólogo Jorge Valdano.

Es así que en esta parte se pueden leer las experiencias de Fernando Gago, Aldo Pedro Poy, Emannuel Gigliotti, Diego Lugano, Lautaro Martínez y hasta al actual técnico del seleccionado argentino, Jorge Sampaoli, entre otros. “Es un mito que los jugadores no saben pensar”, reconoció Domínguez en la última edición de la Feria del Libro, donde se presentó el libro ante los lectores y la prensa. Y recalcó que uno en la vida “no tiene que etiquetarse”.

fter the (unexpected?) success of part one, there was recently published Pelota de Papel II, the book that includes stories written by players, both those retired and still active. The project, like the first part, was captained by ex-player Sebastián Dominguez (Newell’s Old Boys, Estudiantes de la Plata, Vélez, among other clubs).

“Football players, that always were the owners of their actions, now ask for the floor to be heard, what they have lived, what they remember, what they have dreamed. They, that had a superior intelligence for the game and always knew how to tell the story in the best way, have now decided to write about what they love”, Jorge Valdano points out in the prologue.

So it is that in this part we can read the experiences of Fernando Gago, Aldo Pedro Poy, Emannuel Gigliotti, Diego Lugano, Lautaro Martínez, and even the present coach of the Argentine national team, Jorge Sampaoli, among others.

“It is a myth that players do not know how to think,” Dominguez stated at the last edition of the Book Fair, where he presented the book to readers and the press.

reinta y dos deportes; 3.998 atletas; 12 días de competencia; 29 campos de juego; 286 sesiones deportivas; 1.250 medallas; más de 1.200 actividades culturales y educativas: los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud son la competencia multideportiva más grande del mundo para jóvenes atletas de alto rendimiento de entre 15 y 18 años, y tendrán lugar por primera vez en la Argentina, desde el 6 hasta el 18 de octubre próximos. El certamen busca inspirar a los deportistas para que adopten los valores Olímpicos de respeto, amistad y excelencia.

Esta competencia se realiza cada cuatro años y hasta ahora hubo sólo dos ediciones: en Singapur en 2008 y en Nankin (China) en 2014. Fuera del campo de juego, los atletas también participan junto a los espectadores de actividades educativas y culturales que promueven el Olimpismo.

Para esta edición, Buenos Aires contará con cuatro Parques, que serán el escenario de la mayor parte de las competencias de los Juegos: el Parque Olímpico de la Juventud en el sur de la ciudad, el Parque Urbano en el este, el Parque Tecnópolis en el oeste y el Parque Verde en el norte.

Y, como si todo esto fuera poco, esta versión porteña tendrá un despliegue tecnológico para la historia: estarán conectados 2.900 puertos de red disponibles en las diferentes instalaciones, se utilizarán mil computadoras y se dispondrán de 215 impresoras, con 150 servidores durante el desarrollo del evento. A su vez, se usarán 120 pantallas en las distintas sedes

Off the playing field, athletes will also participate together as spectators in educational and cultural activities that promote Olympism. For this edition, Buenos Aires will make use of 4 parks that will be the setting of the major part of the competition in the games: Parque Olímpico de la Juventud in the south of the city, Parque

de Buenos Aires 2018, tanto para scoreboard como para videoboard, ocupando una superficie total de 1.116 metros cuadrados.

Ni siquiera se llega a 900 si sumamos los 213 deportistas de nuestro país que viajaron a Río 2016.

“Me genera orgullo conducir este gran grupo de trabajo para un acontecimiento de tanta importancia a nivel mundial como los Juegos Olímpicos de la Juventud. Tenemos como principal función brindar las herramientas tecnológicas para que fluyan sin dificultad todas las operaciones necesarias del evento”, explica Mariano García, Director de Tecnología de Buenos Aires 2018 y cabeza del equipo.

Por otro lado, para llevar la información a alta velocidad hacia todos los escenarios hasta el 18 de octubre se utilizarán 70 kilómetros de fibra óptica, longitud similar si multiplicamos por 412 el Puente de la Mujer, construcción que se destaca en la geografía de Puerto Madero y también sirve como marco para el Parque Urbano. Y atención, también van a instalarse 325 televisores.

La Villa Olímpica de la Juventud ya fue entregada a la organización, tal como se prometió, seis meses antes del inicio de la competencia.

Con la construcción de 125.000 metros cuadrados, 31 edificios y casi 1.200 viviendas, se dieron por finalizadas las obras en la Villa Olímpica que, una vez terminados los Juegos, se convertirá en el hogar de miles de vecinos.

La Villa hospedará a más de 7.000 participantes, entre atletas y entrenadores.

n su última visita a nuestro país, hace apenas unas semanas, el reconocido músico de barba frondosa y rulos desparejos, Ara Malikian, aseguró ante los medios locales que el violín, su instrumento de toda la vida, no sólo lo ayudó a sobrevivir, sino que también le dio muchas satisfacciones.

Nacido en Líbano hace 49 años, tiene ascendencia armenia, pero estudió en el norte de Europa, y hace más de 15 temporadas que reside en Madrid, la ciudad española en la que creció como artista. Actualmente, su espectáculo, que mezcla historia, música culta, rock and roll y sonidos populares, agota entradas donde quiera que se presente.

“Yo crecí en Líbano, un país que estuvo en guerra durante más de 20 años.

n his last visit to our country, just a few weeks ago, this renown musician with his lush beard and crazy curls, Ara Malikian, made it clear to local media that the violin, his lifetime instrument, not only has helped him to survive, but also has given much satisfaction.

Born in Lebanon 49 years ago, of Armenian heritage, but studying in Northern Europe, he has resided for more than 15 seasons in Madrid, the Spanish city in which he became an artist. Presently, his show, that mixes history, music culture, rock and roll, along with other popular sounds, has sold-out crowds wherever he goes.

“I grew up in Lebanon, a country that was at war for more than 20 years.

I began to play because my father made me, but I never would have taken up the violin. Thanks to him, I have the life that I have”, he said to the press in relation to two key questions in his life, the exodus that he had to make and his relationship with his father, who he described as somewhat strict, but passionate about music. “He lived because he liked music and that love he strongly pass on to me,” he added.

This musician, in addition to his versatility, is known for his position as a rock star on stage. He excels both for his talent and grace. It has to do with his history, he explained, with the future of working with stage artistry from different areas, in which he gives much importance to the stage and to the body. En síntesis, su vida fue una mezcla de encuentros, de los que sí o sí tuvo que aprender, algo que, apuntó, lo ayudó a crecer y a sentirse a gusto en cada estilo y en cada género que hoy día abarca. “En cada viaje que emprendo intento descubrir músicas y ritmos nuevos para dialogar con ellos”, sintetizó Malikian, con la misma precisión y sensibilidad, la misma que utiliza para ejecutar su violín.

e ha dicho infinidad de veces que no se consigue algo hasta que no se intenta. Romper moldes, hacerse respetar en ámbitos donde no es fácil entrar, superar al hombre en un terreno hasta donde poco tiempo atrás era amo y señor, todo eso logró Susana Balbo. Creadora de una de las bodegas más reconocidas de la Argentina, Dominio del Plata, recientemente fue distinguida por la revista británica The Drinks Business como una de las 10 mujeres más influyentes en el mundo del vino, y la única argentina que figura en el listado. Y no es un hecho casual o fortuito. Trabajó incansablemente para lograrlo.

Esta es la segunda vez que aparece en la lista de mujeres pioneras que están promoviendo el vino alrededor del mundo. Su primera aparición fue en el 2012, luego, la misma publicación la nombró “Mujer del Año” en el 2015.

El artículo destaca su exitosa carrera como la primera mujer enóloga Argentina y el estilo innovador de su Torrontés, que le ha valido el apodo de “Reina de Torrontés”, en honor al trabajo clave realizado por Susana en la elaboración de este varietal característico transformándolo en la cepa blanca emblemática de Argentina.

Susana Balbo es la enóloga más famosa de Argentina.

Después de 20 años de producir vino para otras personas como consultora, en 1999 Balbo fundó Dominio del Plata en Luján de Cuyo. Sus viñedos están plantados con Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot y Torrontés, del cual elabora una expresión cautivadora fermentado en barricas.

Además de los vinos con su propio nombre, Balbo también tiene una línea de vinos frutales y frescos, CRIOS de Susana Balbo, que están diseñados para ser bebidos jóvenes.

t has been said countless times that one does not get something until they quit trying so hard. Breaking molds, earning respect in place that is not easy to get into, exceeding men in territory where just shortly before they dominated, all this has been achieved by Susan Balbo.

Creator of one of the most recognized bodegas in Argentina, Dominio del Plata, was recently distinguished by the British magazine, The Drinks Business, as one of the ten most includential women in the world of wine, and the only Argentine that is on the list. This is not accidental or fortuitous act.

She has worked diligently to get where she is.

This is the second time that she has appeared on the list of pioneering women that are promoting wine around the world. Her first appearance was in 2012, later, the same publication named her “Woman of the ear” in 2015. The article points out her successful career as the first Argentine woman wine expert and an innovator with Torrontés, that she has won the

name of “Queen of Torrontés,” in honor of her central work in the production of this particular variety, making it white stock that is emblematic in Argentina.

Who is she?

La bodega Dominio del Plata, considerada una de las mejores bodegas de Argentina, exporta el 97% de su producción. A su mejor vino se le ha dado una calificación de 90 puntos por Wine Spectator, sólo superada por otros dos vinos argentinos.

Susana Balbo is the most famous eonologist (wine expert) in Argentina. After 20 years of producing wine for other persons as a consultant, in 1999, Balbo founded the Dominio del Plata cellar in Luján de Cuyo. Her vineyards are planted with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Torrontés, which she produces in a winning fermented expression in casks.

In addition to the wines with her own name, Balbo also has a line of fruit and effervescent wines, CRIOS of Susana Balbo, that are designed for a younger client.

But she is not only the first wine expert in our country (received with honors in 1981), but also has been one of the stars in the transformation of Malbec to being the most representative stock of Argentina in the world.

She worked in Cafayate, Salta, in the Bodega de la Sucesión Michel Torino, in charge of the production of Torrontés.There she created this unique style, a combination of floral and citric notes that became one the most most well-known Torrontés in the country. Later she went to Bodega Martins, where she worked as director, developing and ambitious program of exports. In 1998, she was hired by Nicolás Catena to design and direct the Catena Zapata Bodega, one of the most important and modern wine facilities in Argentina.

Presently, Susana works tirelessly to promote Argentine wines outside of Argentina.

The bodega Dominio del Plata, considered one of the best bodegas in Argentina, exports 97% of its production. The wine has been given a score of 90 points by Wine Spectator, exceeded by only two other Argentine wines.

Los aeropuertos de Iguazú y la Ciudad de Salta vuelven a estar operativos tras las obras realizadas para mejorar la experiencia del pasajero.

L

uego de los 30 días previstos de obra para repavimentar la parte central de la pista de aterrizaje, y que implicó la derivación temporaria de los vuelos a Foz de Iguazú, en Brasil, el aeropuerto de Puerto Iguazú en la provincia de Misiones ya se encuentra abierto y reinició sus vuelos en la fecha programada.

“Las Cataratas del Iguazú se consolidan como una de nuestras puertas de ingreso de visitantes extranjeros e incrementan su aporte al turismo como pilar fundamental de la economía nacional”, señaló Gustavo Santos, ministro de Turismo de la Nación, al momento de la reinauguración.

Las obras por fuera de la terminal incluyeron las calles de rodaje, la ampliación de la plataforma comercial y la renovación del sistema de balizamiento, para otorgar mayor seguridad en los vuelos y una vida útil más larga a la pista e instalaciones complementarias. En breve, además, finalizará la ampliación del estacionamiento vehicular y la adecuación de las calles internas, para mejorar la eficiencia y rapidez ya que pasará a tener capacidad para 400 autos.

Saltan de alegría Por otra parte, también hace menos de un mes el Aeropuerto Internacional Martín Miguel de Güemes de la ciudad de Salta comenzó a funcionar luego de las remodelaciones en tiempo récord para la pavimentación del cruce de las dos pistas de aterrizaje.

Las obras benefician a los más de 600.000 pasajeros que usan este aeropuerto por año.

El Aeropuerto de Puerto Iguazú ya está abierto.

Las mejoras en las pistas continuarán hasta mediados de junio y se sumarán a las obras en las calles de rodaje, la ampliación de la plataforma comercial y el balizamiento. La obra en la terminal de pasajeros será hasta septiembre, y consiste en la ampliación de la sala de embarque internacional, con nuevo mobiliario, nuevos servicios gastronómicos y más mangas que mejoren la accesibilidad a los aviones.
