Declaring Independence

great nation came to be from thirteen tiny colonies; the United States of America was its destiny. England’s King George III refused to set us free, and declared forever he would rule these colonies. The founders said this cannot be and set out to write the document that would allow the colonies to be free.

The Declaration of Independence established our union many years ago and created the universal principles we all must know. Unique in its own way, no other country in history has been governed this way. This established America as the greatest country ever conceived.
