had not hung on the Christmas tree for many years. The Mr. and Mrs. had H estopped putting up Christmas trees because they were getting along in age and
decorating for the holidays was a lot of work. The kids had moved away and the tree didn’t seem so important any more without little ones around to enjoy it.
was supposed to be packed H eaway with the Christmas
decorations, but accidentally was put in a box to be thrown away. The Mr., instead of throwing the box away, had placed it between an old ice cream freezer and a Christmas tree stand on the top shelf in the kitchen pantry. was a bright blue Santa when he was young. The Mr. and H eMrs. ’s children had picked him out and they considered him

He missed them. He wasn’t as shiny as he used to be, but he still was in one piece and actually in pretty good shape considering how old he was.
