General Price List Prices are effective May 27th, 2024 and are subject to change without notice.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason, in writing, in our statement document which describes the funeral goods and services you selected.

Potter Funeral Home is operated by Ideal Tributes Management Co, LLC, an independent, family-owned corporation.

All of us at Potter Funeral Home are proud to have been a cornerstone of Willimantic for over one hundred years, and plan on keeping that tradition alive for many to come.

Throughout our history, the community has seen several different faces carry out its longstanding tradition of exceptional family service. Today, the staff is led by Glenn & Tiffany Blumenstein, and Managing Funeral Director, Chris Gromko.

For 25 years, Chris Gromko has been caring for families at Potter Funeral Home. He, and all the staff, share the same values – to not just serve the community, but to be a dedicated and caring part of it. We’re not just locally owned, we’re locally involved and committed to the care for the families we serve.

Professional Services A. Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff �����������������������������������������������������$2,99900 Our charge includes consultation with the family or responsible party; staff and facilities to respond to request for services, coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory, and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased; securing official documents and necessary registrations; and sheltering of the deceased. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burial, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

B. Embalming by Licensed Embalmer ����������������������������������������������������������������������$1,29900 Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. We recommend you choose embalming for services such as a funeral with a viewing.

C. Green Embalming ����������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������$1,49500 Green embalming is that which is done with formaldehyde-free embalming fluids, made of nontoxic and biodegradable ingredients and essential oils.

Alternative Selections A. Forwarding of remains to another funeral home ��������������������������������������������$3,45000 Our charge includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; removal of remains, preparations of remains (including embalming) and local transportation. This charge does not include shipping casket or required shipping enclosure, viewing, air transportation, or funeral service. This charge is applied when the receiving funeral home will handle the funeral.

B. Receiving of remains from another funeral home ��������������������������������������������$3,45000 Our charge includes; basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; care of remains; transportation of remains to funeral home and to the cemetery or crematory. It does not include viewing or funeral service. This charge applies when sending funeral home arranged the services.

C. Direct Cremation ���������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������$3,45000 Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; essential care of the deceased when not embalmed; transportation to crematory. (Upon your request a loved one will be bathed and dressed; a private family only 30 minute viewing may be done, at a time of the funeral home’s convenience.)

If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are a wood & fiberboard container $165.00; a fiberboard with interior $460.00; or an unfinished wood box $850.00.

D. Immediate Burial ������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������������$3,45000 Our charge for an immediate burial (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff; a proportionate share of overhead costs; removal of remains; essential care of the deceased when not embalmed; and local transportation to cemetery. (Upon your request a loved one will be bathed and dressed; a private family only 30 minute viewing may be done, at a time of the funeral home’s convenience.) Our most basic casket option is an unfinished wood casket and costs $1500.00. Most cemeteries require you to purchase an outer burial enclosure (sometimes called a vault). The enclosures we sell are made of concrete and start at $2,800.00.
