GREAT PEOPLE MAKE FAVORITE PLACES

BCC has created an actionable statement that helps define our philosophy known as The Simple Truth: Great People Make Favorite Places. Below is a small sample of staff members who are helping to make BCC your favorite place.

August Staff Member of the Month

Simple Truth Award

In his three years at BCC, Dennis has made remarkable contributions to our facilities. His skill and attention to detail are evident throughout the recent Board Room renovation—from the precise crown molding adjustments to the seamless electrical and IT wiring within the conference table. Dennis’ craftsmanship, professionalism, and dedication are appreciated by all. He is a joy to work with, always willing to share his knowledge, and consistently puts BCC first. Next time you see Dennis, don’t hesitate to ask him about the projects he’s currently working on

During a recent evening in the 1924 Grille, a young member approached Garland for help. Although it was difficult to understand the request at first, Garland took the time to listen carefully and helped bring the child’s creative idea to life. The small gesture brought a big smile to the young member and was deeply appreciated by the family. This interaction is a wonderful reminder of how kindness and patience can create memorable moments for our members.

Exceptional Leadership Award

Hannah demonstrated leadership and creativity in revamping the Camp BCC program this year. Taking on the initiative with enthusiasm, she introduced a new format and themes: Sports, Creative, and STEM. Each week offered a variety of activities, such as the fitness obstacle course, cardboard boat race, egg drop, and marble run. She worked cross-functionally to incorporate the skills of other staff members, such as Horticulture for succulent planting, Culinary for Tiny Chef Academy, and Engineering for building your own walkie-talkies. This allowed other team members to showcase and teach children about their respective worlds. Her approach elevated the overall experience and has received lots of positive feedback from both children and parents. This is a direct reflection of her dedication, passion, and ability to bring fresh energy to one of our annual seasonal offerings.

Really fun and well-run event, festive staff, the hayride was awesome. The food stations were wonderful as well. I thought it was a perfect balance of a great crowd but not overcrowded. All the stations were spread out nicely. There was a lot to do for all ages. I thought the time of day was perfect.

From: Kendall Manan

The Halloween stations were wonderful for children. We appreciate how much thought the BCC staff puts into this event and how into it they get! Their spirit and enthusiasm with the kids is going way above and beyond the call of duty. This is probably our favorite BCC event of the year.

I can’t say ONE thing. The food, atmosphere, bartenders, waitstaff and most of all, Carolina Pogust. The fact that there is only one event per day made it feel even more that we were the most important people in Baltimore! (:

ROLAND PARK À LA CARTE

From: Dominick Valencia

It was a wonderful dining experience at RP yesterday. I was greeted by Ingrid and seated promptly. Cynthia, who helped us yesterday came over and we chatted about how my first visit to RP each year for dinner unofficially opens the holiday season for me. The 1898 Grille is my favorite place in the Club. I was delighted when both Kayla and Hannah stopped by my table to

say hello. It was great to see them, as always. They’re always so friendly and kind to me and my family and I appreciate that tremendously. Now, to comment on dinner itself. The cream of crab soup was, as always, silky smooth and deliciously creamy. Masterful! I want to commend Chef Shaun and his wonderful culinary staff. I have to give Pastry Chef Allison repeated plaudits for her continually creative and inspiring desserts!

In November, we focused on Discovery: asking open ended questions, encouraging members to talk about themselves, and finding common ground. As we practice discovery, it’s also important to practice our next habit: Remember, Reflect, & Record.

WHAT TO EXPECT THIS MONTH

Throughout the month of December, you will receive tips to better remember and re-use details that you have observed about the membership. This habit demonstrates care and attentiveness by recalling details and circling back to previous conversations, visits, or service moments. This proves to the member: You matter, and I was listening. Remembering tiny details builds emotional loyalty.

CHALLENGE OF THE MONTH: The Discovery Blitz

HABIT #3 Remember, Reflect, & Record

• Notice Patterns

• Remember & Reference Minute Details

The discovery blitz continues! Help the Club to expand it’s member preference library by submitting the fun facts that you know about our membership! Submissions can be anything – favorite colors, sports teams, vacation destinations, preferred coffee styles, preferred racquets court, etc. The possibilities are endless. Each submission enters you for the opportunity to win gift cards.
