MT. ENON’S VISION STATEMENT

MOTTO Our motto is "Because We Care, We Share". We share our love, resources, and faith with all. We are a Christian family and invite all to become children of God in the fullest way by receiving the teachings and gift of salvation.

MISSION Our Mission is to maintain the general design of the Church as outlined in the New Testament of the Holy Bible. To extol and magnify Christ and His teachings: To promote the spiritual and moral welfare of its members. To advance the Christian faith and religion: To enforce good order: To aid the needy and suffering within the sphere of its influence both within the congregation and community.

The vision of Mount Enon Missionary Baptist Church is to: EXALT the Lord through worship, EVANGELIZE the Lost through relationships, EDIFY, EDUCATE and EMPOWER the Laity through discipleship and to ENCOURAGE the Laborers through fellowship. Because we are a striving congregation in Dayton, Ohio, which has been called and commissioned to become a group of believers in whom the Lord will be well pleased by developing each member as true disciples of Jesus Christ: We will LOVE the Lord according to Deuteronomy 30:15-16 We will LEARN the Word according to Deuteronomy 17:18-20 We will LIVE the Word according to Joshua 1:8 and We will LEAD the World through the Word according to Acts 1:8 We are challenged today, to get involved, and take responsibility, and we must understand that we are ambassadors of Christ and of Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church. We decree and order that all Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church would experience a greater move of God in their lives because they submit to live by God’s biblical order to win Lives to Christ. “God can do anything, you know-far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.” (Ephesians 3:20) Pastor Cory Pruitt

PASTOR’S GREETING Mt Enon family. As you know, many churches, schools, sport’s venues, political campaigns, etc. are suspending events until further notice. here at Mt Enon we care deeply about your spiritual edification and your physical safety. After much thought and prayer, I do believe, at this time, the Lord is directing us to take our services, and other scheduled events online (Facebook) and via our conference call number. To schedule a meeting, please call the church. We still are accepting your Tithes, Offerings and donations at scheduled times. Having said that, we are strongly urging everyone to be very cautious about their interactions with one another when here at Mt Enon, and to practice good hygiene (washing your hands, covering your mouth when you cough, etc.) Until such time ‘til we meet again.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Cory J Pruitt

What is the Coronavirus? -Lois Foy A Coronavirus is a kind of common virus that causes an infection in your nose, sinuses, or upper throat. They’re called coronaviruses because under a microscope, they look like a crown (picture) Most coronaviruses aren’t dangerous. But in early 2020, after a December 2019 outbreak in China, the World Health Organization identified a new type of coronavirus. Officials named this new virus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2). This is the virus that causes COVID-19. Coronavirus disease 2019, or COVID-19 is a disease that can cause what doctors call a respiratory tract infection. It can affect your upper respiratory (sinuses, nose, and throat) or lower respiratory tract (windpipe and Lungs). The coronavirus outbreak quickly spread around the world, mainly through person to person contact. Infections range from mild to serious. 182 countries are infected.

Healing in a time of the Coronavirus; A time of pain and suffering. Hymn: Precious Lord, take my hand, Lead me on, let me stand, I am weak, I am tired, I am worn, through the storm, through the night, Lead me on in the light, Take my hand, precious Lord, Lead me Home. -Thomas Dorsey. As the whole world is reeling from the threat of the coronavirus, and thousands are dying all over the United States and other parts of the world. Doctors and the medical profession race and study to treat those infected and save lives. This has been a time of fear, uncertainty, and great despair as we fear for our health and well-being and our loved ones, close to us and far away. Hymn: On Christ the solid rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand. -William Bradbury For Christians, and all faiths, this is a moment we pray for all mankind, regardless of race, religion or station in life. This coronavirus knows no one, it chooses all. What can we do? We can love each other and pray. -Daniel Darling. Contributor to Christianity Today. Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God has forgiver you. Ephesians 5:2 And walk in love as Christ also loved us, and hath given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savior. This virus COVID-19 creeps through all mand kind, destroying and bring suffering like the world has never known. Families cannot sit with, hug or say goodbye to their loved ones for fear of spreading this vicious virus, or becoming infected, leaving some of their sick loved ones to die alone. As we watch the sobering and painful news daily, all we can do is pray, pray for our public and local officials, coming to us daily, giving us heart breaking news as the death toll mounts daily. We pray for the heroic doctors and medical staff who are risking their lives and families’ lives trying to perform their health care duties in hospitals, all over the world. Lord we ask you to give them the wisdom, medical expertise, courage and strength as they fight this vile sickness and virus. -Darling 2 Tim:7 God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but a spirit of love and of sound mind. This virus has reminded us of our frailty. We have subdued much of the earth with our innovation and creative acts, but we are reminded in this moment, how frail and powerless we are. In his message to people dealing with the Coronavirus, COVID-19. “As we endure this new normal in our lives, we pray earnestly for the heroic medical doctors, nurses, and health care professionals who are putting their lives on the line for their neighbors.” We watch

these medical professionals, exhausted and drained, and see the pain on their faces, as they have to at times decides who lives or dies. -Darling John 14: 27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. “We must remember that the Bible does not teach us that our lives will be free of problems and sufferings, however, it does promise we will have a comforter, in the form of the Holy spirit to help us through the difficulties of life.” -Tommy Higle. Author of Spiritual Bootcamp: Basic Training for Christians. We pray for the scientists, disease experts, and epidemiologists who are working feverishly on vaccines and testing mechanisms. Lord, we thank you for gifting them with knowledge and wisdom we don’t have. May you give them strength and physical immunity during this time, so they can help push back against this ravaging virus. Daniel Darling. Romans 8: 38-39 For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come; nor height, nor dept, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. We pray for the scientists, disease experts, and epidemiologist who are working feverishly on gifting them with knowledge and wisdom we don’t have. We pray that they will have the resources, facemasks, gowns, gloves, needed to save other lives and their lives. Psalm 55: 22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. Dear God, move in the hearts and minds of our public officials. As you have instructed us in your world, we earnestly beseech you on behalf of our President, Congress, Governors, Mayors and local officials. We pray you guide them with wisdom and strength and discernment. -Darling Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that worketh in us. 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen Hymn: Lead me, guide me, along the way. Lord if you lead me, I cannot stray, Lord let me walk each day with thee, Lead me Oh, Lord lead me. -Doris Akers. -Lois E. What is the significance of the number eight in the Bible? The number 8 is very significant such that it is used 73 times in the Bible. It is the symbol of Resurrection and Regeneration. In Bible numerology, 8 means new beginning; it denotes “a new order or creation, and man's true 'born again' event when he is resurrected from the dead into eternal life.”.

PRIMARY VOTING Ohio registered voters can still cast ballots for the March 17 primary election, but they’ll only be able to do so by mail. For the first time in Ohio, there will be no traditional, in-person Election Day voting in this cycle, according to legislation passed last week by the Ohio House and Senate. The in-person voting that had been scheduled for March 17 was canceled via a state order amid fears of further spread of the coronavirus.

How to vote in the primary Residents who were not registered to vote by the Feb. 18 deadline are not eligible for this election. Voters who already cast absentee ballots in the weeks before March 17 don’t need to do anything else, according to Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose’s office, as their votes will be counted as usual.

WANT TO VOTE? Any other registered voter who wants to cast a primary ballot must request an absentee ballot. A ballot will be mailed and it must be returned to the board of elections, either postmarked by mail on April 27 or hand-delivered by 7:30 p.m. April 28.
