Company and Mission Statement Company Description My company is a fine winery where wine is produced. It is a winery with wine tasting, a vineyard and a cellar. The winery is also able to hold weddings. It is a very unique and classy place to get married. Our wine tasting events are very popular where people can come anytime to taste and compare wines. It has a famous vineyard, where we grow our own wine. Our winery has a cellar, where the wine is placed and stored. It is a basic controlled warehouse. Lastly, Dockside Vineyards is also famous for weddings. The guests have the opportunity to experience wine tasting and other group opportunities.
Mission Statement Our goal is to have good tasting wine. We want to have the best wine tasting. It will be a beautiful place to tour and have weddings.
Logo Statement
The designer chose it to have a variation of two different logos. There is a horizontal and a vertical. The vertical is used when there is not a lot of space. The main idea of the logo is that it looks like a ships wheel with wine bottles. The ships wheel symbolizes the winery being by the dock, whereas the wine bottles symbolize it being a winery as well. It creates a very unique look for the winery.
Logo Process The logo process took a long time trying to figure out how the logo should look. The evolution of the logo started out by wanting to make it a ships wheel out of wine bottles. The designer made many variations in order to find the final one. Below are some examples of the rough logos.
Color Palette The designer chose the colors relating to a ships wheel and a winery. There is a total of four colors used in the logo. The logotype uses a dark red color and the ships wheel mostly uses browns and a white. The white is used to create a stroke on the ships wheel. The colors chosen are meant to represent a the colors of a ships wheel. Even though the center is made out of wine bottles, the colors still stay the same as the colors of a ship wheel.

Typography This style guide uses two different types of fonts. The headlines uses Le Monde Journal Std Regular and Bold and the body copy uses Parka Regular and Bold. The designer chose a more classic font for the logo. The logo uses the typeface called Baskerville. Baskerville is a serif which gives it a classic look and feel.

Parka Regular ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz

Stationery The stationery uses several consistent elements. The dark red color is used on some part of each stationery item. Another consistent element that is used throughout the stationery set is the ships wheel. It is placed on the side of each stationery item. One element
that differs is the logo. The horizontal logo is used on the letter and envelope, whereas the vertical logo is used on the business card. The vertical logo is used on the business card because there is not enough space for the horizontal.

Business Letter The designer chose to create a half inch margin for the business letter. The red lines indicate how far the text is from the edge of the page. The business letter has an equal amount of margin
on the left and the right, whereas the top of the letter has more margin space than the bottom of the letter. It is important to have margins around a business letter so that it is legible.

Applications The logo can be found on several items. Some examples are wine bottles, glasses and coasters. These types of items can be found at the winery. The wine bottle is available to purchase from our customers.
Applications The logo can be found on billboards, menus and flyer’s. The billboards can be seen while passing down the road. The menus can be found at the winery and the flyer’s can be found in places such as liquor stores.
Applications The logo can be found while searching the web. The vineyard has many different types of social media in order to stay connected with it’s customers.
A couple places the logo can be found are on our Facebook and Instagram pages. Our customers can like our pages in order to stay connected.
Size and Margins The logo needs a certain amount of margin on each side so that it has enough border. The designer chose the letter “O in Dockside, in order to show the correct amount of margin. The doted red line also indicates the edge of
the logo. For example, when placing a background behind the logo, the person needs to have the correct amount of margin around it. If there is no border, then it would not be legible.
