RULES OF PLAY

FOUR PERSON SCRAMBLE FORMAT – FOUR PERSON TEAM

9 Each player hits a tee shot.

– Each player must use his/her drive a minimum of two times over the 18 holes.

9 The best shot is selected for the next shot.

9 All players hit from this position.

9 This is repeated until the ball is holed out.

1. Play will be from white tees (men) and red tees (women).

2. The ball selected may be placed within one club length of the position selected, in the same cut of grass, no nearer to the hole.

• For instance, if the selected ball is in the fairway, all players will hit from the fairway. If the selected ball is in the rough, all players will hit from the rough.

3. In the event that the selected ball is in a bunker, the ball may be moved within one club length of the original shot, no nearer to the hole, and in no event may the lie be improved so that the ball lies outside the bunker.

4. In the event that the ball is in a water hazard, the lie shall not be improved.

5. Each player is allowed one mulligan which must be purchased before play begins and are nontransferable. Mulligans may not be used on any drives at designated contest holes.

6. On designated Pro golfer and/or Long Drive Champion designated hole, the team may elect to use the drive of the pro and count as a player mandatory drive.

• That is to say, if a player in your group is struggling to meet the 2-drive minimum, the professional player’s drive may be used to satisfy this requirement with approval of the team.

7. Substitution Rule: If one or more members of a foursome are absent, the team may elect to play a three player scramble. No player shall be permitted to hit twice for the team.

8. Auto 2-Putt- Once on the green, all players must attempt 1 putt. If the ball does not go in after the 4th attempt, the team can pick up and record the second putt as good. The auto 2-putt rule will be applied for pace of play reasons.

9. Ties should be broken according to the USGA’s recommended tie – break procedure of last 9, 6, 3, 1.

10. Tournament awards will be presented to top 3 winning teams.

11. All participants must comply with the United States Golf Association (USGA) Rules of Amateur Status. Any team which includes a golf professional may participate, but is ineligible to win prizes.

12. Teams competing for the medical staff completion must have a minimum of three (3) physicians on a team to be eligible.

GOLF CARTS: Carts are allowed to be on the fairway. Driving in the rough is prohibited. Please use enter and exit stakes when entering, inside of, and exiting the fairway. The golf cart will seize up if you drive in the rough. If a cart seizes up, you must reverse the cart to the middle of the fairway or cart path.
