Live on YouTube both evenings from the Zoology Museum’s galleries. Explore the creatures of the sea and sky. Have your questions ready for the Museum’s wildlife experts. Thursday 1st July to Saturday 3rd July, 7.00pm to 10.00pm Twelfth Night by William Shakespeare Open air at the Orchard Tea Room Garden, 47 Mill Way, Grantchester, Cambridge CB3 9ND

Shakespeare’s ever-popular masterpiece performed by professional actors beautifully costumed in Jacobean style. In lovely setting by the River Cam, the gardens have a fascinating history of their own. Tickets £15, £20, £25. See www.wherecanwego.com.

Friday 2nd July, 5.30pm to 7.00pm, Sunday 4th July, 11.30am to 1.00pm (and same times Fridays and Sundays throughout July) Lies, Spies and Double-Dealing: A Cambridge Spy Tour

Enjoy a spy-filled walk around some of Cambridge’s loveliest streets. Discover how Tudor monarchs made the university their secret service HQ, learn about the Cambridge code-breakers’ work at Bletchley Park, the Big Five, James Bond and much more! £15 per person. Saturday 3rd July, 11.00am to 3.00pm Trinity Hall Open Garden Wychfield Site, Cambridge CB3 0DZ

A beautiful, large garden with majestic trees, roses and herbaceous perennials, shady woodland planting and established lawns. NB Not on the Backs but at the college’s Wychfield site on Storey’s Way. Admission £4, children free. Home-made cakes, hot and cold refreshments served in the cricket pavilion. Proceeds to charity.

Saturdays & Sundays 3rd/4th, 10th/11th, 17th/18th, 24th/25th July, 11.00am to 4.00pm Cambridge Open Studios

Approximately 300 artists, craftspeople and designer-makers opening their studios on all or some weekends. NB Some artists may ask visitors to make an appointment. For details see www.camopenstudios.co.uk or pages 12-13, which include information on local artists.

Saturdays 3rd and 17th July, 12.00 noon to 2.30pm The Sound of Summer Anglesey Abbey, Quy Road, Lode, Cambridge CB25 9EJ

Run in partnership with the Cambridge Jazz Festival, enjoy an afternoon of live music with jazz on the South Lawn. Normal National Trust admission arrangements apply but no additional booking needed. Previously-opened gardens open again with four new ones, plus St. George’s allotments. Tea and cakes. Plants and wood turned items for sale. Tickets £5 adults, under 16s free - cashless payments available. Buy on day from 31 Station Road, Melbourn.

Saturday 17th July, 10am to 4.00pm Ely’s Eel Fayre Ely Cathedral East Lawn, Ely, Cambridgeshire CB7 4DL

Annual event all about the humble eel and its importance to Ely over the centuries. Lots of great stalls with Ely arts, crafts, food, drink and living history. Try your luck at eel throwing (not real ones!) and have a great day out in the shadow of the magnificent Cathedral. Free.

Saturday 17th July 5.30pm to 8.00pm (gates open 1pm) Flying for Fun Evening Drive-In Air Show Shuttleworth Collection Old Warden Aerodrome, near Biggleswade, Bedfordshire SG18 9EP

Great for families with thrilling air displays from historic aircraft, other planes old and new, plus chance to explore the attractive Shuttleworth Swiss Garden.
