MIT graduation showcases top academic performers

The Melbourne Institute of Technology (MIT)celebratedtheaccomplishmentsof itsgraduating class during the annual graduation ceremony on December 3, 2024, at Grand Hyatt Melbourne. A highlight of the event was the recognition of two students who showcased outstanding academicperformanceand receivedthe Awards for AcademicExcellence.

Awards for Academic Excellence

The Awards for Academic Excellence recognise students for outstanding academic achievements basedonthe followingcriteria:

 Completion ofallacademicrequirementsforgraduation.

 AGradePointAverage(GPA) of6.5orhigher.

 Passinggradesinallunits.

 Completion ofatleast50%of courserequirementsatMIT.

 Eligibilityforbothfull-timeand part-timestudents exceptMasters(Research)degrees.

2024 Recipients

Alfredo Jr Gopez – Master of Networking

Alfredo Jr Gopez, a graduate of the School of IT & Engineering, was acknowledged for his academic achievements and work experience. He moved from a part-time job as a fryer to a full-time position as an IT Systems Developer at Avant Group, where he works on business processautomation,ITinfrastructure development, and cybersecurity management

Alfredo said: "As an international student, I started my journey feeling uncertain about the future. My time at MIT provided me with the skills and confidence necessary to succeed in the ITindustry." Read more
