Nella collezione di tappeti RGB del duo Carnovsky, Francesco Rugi e Silvia Quintanilla, i disegni creano superfici che mutano e interagiscono con stimoli cromatici di luci differenti. Le immagini risultanti sono inaspettate e disorientanti. I colori si mescolano, le linee e le forme si intrecciano diventando oniriche e non completamente definite. Attraverso luci RGB è possibile vedere chiaramente i livelli di cui l’immagine è composta. I colori rosso, verde e blu proiettati dalla fonte luminosa, servono per rivelare alternativamente una delle tre immagini. La Limited Edition è stata realizzata in soli sei esemplari per ogni tappeto ognuno dei quali sarà corredato da una certificazione Artep e Carnovsky.
In the RGB rug collection, the designs by the duo Carnovsky, Francesco Rugi & Silvia Quintanilla, create contrasting surfaces that change and interact with chromatic stimuli of different lights. The resulting images are unexpected and bewildering. Colors mix, lines and shapes intertwine, thus becoming oneiric and not completely decipherable. Through RGB lights, it is possible to clearly see the layers in which the image is composed. The red, green and blue colors projected by the light source allow to reveal alternately one of the three layers. The Limited Edition was created in only six copies for each carpet, each of which

Alessandro Mendini ha ideato questi tappeti per Artep nel 2011 ispirandosi al suo repertorio iconico di geometrie e colori. La presentazione al pubblico avverrà entro il 2022 e i vari esemplari saranno realizzati in una Edizione Limitata certificata dallo Studio Atelier Alessandro Mendini. In questa edizione di tappeti le diverse tecniche di lavorazione e i materiali si incontrano creando texture assolutamente uniche. Annodati a mano, i tappeti hanno trama e ordito in cotone grezzo e il vello in lana e seta. L’utilizzo della tecnica loop crea superfici vibranti, sia al tatto che alla vista: un nuovo modo sensoriale di “vivere” questi preziosi elementi tessili, pensati da uno dei più importanti maestri del design internazionale di sempre.
Alessandro Mendini designed these rugs for Artep in 2011, finding inspiration in his iconic repertoire of geometries and colors. The public presentation will take place by 2022 and the various copies will be made in a Limited Edition certified by Atelier Mendini In this rugs edition, different manufacturing techniques and materials come together to create truly unique textures. Hand-knotted, the rugs have raw cotton weft and warp, and wool and silk pile. The use of the loop technique creates vibrant surfaces, both to the touch and to the eye: a new sensory way of “living” these precious textile elements, conceived by one of the most important masters ever of international design.

Partendo dai bozzetti disegnati dalla mano di Stefano Boeri e dalle riproduzioni in scala prodotte da Anastasia Kucherova (responsabile dei progetti speciali SBA), Artep realizza questi tappeti con lo stesso concetto di sostenibilità utilizzando materiali come la seta di bambù, ricavata da coltivazioni a basso impatto ambientale e da lavorazioni sostenibili per l’ambiente e lana, fibra naturale usata nella lavorazione dei tappeti da sempre. Questa Edizione Limitata di tappeti, pensata per Artep da Toshiyuki Kita già nel 1992, parte dalla consapevolezza del designer che “nello spazio in cui viviamo ogni giorno, il pavimento interpreta il ruolo della terra, dove l’immagine della ricca natura è molto importante, dove i prati, i campi di fiori colorati, i mari, i laghi e i fiumi, ci regalano sogni e felicità. Il tappeto è morbido, caldo e delicato. Gli artigiani, mentre lo tessono, vi si immergono con i loro pensieri... È divertente progettare pensando allo spazio e alla natura”. In questa “visione” il via vai delle onde e delle foglie mosse dal vento diventano segni grafici, in un sogno dove si incontrano Oriente e Occidente, storia, natura, arte e bellezza… Quasi come viaggiare indietro di migliaia di anni.
