• We make it a priority to take birth weights and process calves with 24 hours of birth. Advertised weaning weights are actual weaning weights not adjusted.

• All bulls are semen tested, palpated, scrotal measured and health inspected by the Greenview Veterinary Clinic veterinary team, Our cattle are vaccinated following The Clinic’s beef health program. This health program includes Calf-Guard, Nasalgen 3 PMH and injectable ADE + selenium within 24 hours of birth. We follow up with spring and fall vaccinations of Vision 8 and Express FP 5-VL5.

WELCOME Blazin J Simmentals Darcy, Dwayne, and Caitlyn Lind of Blazin J Simmentals we welcome you to join our very first annual bull and female sale!

As young producers we understand the challenges and sacrifices that come with this lifestyle and industry. Therefore, our focus is hardy cattle that can carry themselves through any environment. Our program promotes healthy, conditioned muscled bulls without sacrificing their feet, stomach health and breeding longevity. Our bull nutrition program is a forage based diet using super fibre pellets. Our goal is to feed for optimal Average Daily Gain without compromising performance or confirmation.

For those of you who don’t know us, we live 25 minutes East of Valleyview, Alberta on the beautiful South end of Snipe Lake. Having only resided here for 8 years, Blazin J has been built from the ground up. Both of us were born and raised in the Peace Country coming from 4th and 5th generation mixed cattle and grain farms. Darcy received his education in Olds, Alberta and Caitlyn achieved her Animal Health diploma in Fairview College. Darcy now works full time on ranch and Caitlyn as a feed sales representative for Country Junction Feeds. This past season the calving herd consisted of 170 papered matrons as well as 130 Angus/ Fleckvieh influenced commercial cows. As a family, with our son Dwayne being an 6th generation farmer, we are very excited to see where this industry will take us!

Looking through our catalogue you will notice two age groups of bulls: Fall extra age bulls, and Winter born yearling bulls. As well, from overwhelming requests and support from our friends and past clients, we decided to sell 2 groups of our very best commercial females and 3 lots of papered females. This will be the first time that females from our herd will sell.

In our program, especially with Caitlyn’s background in animal health, our herd health program is of the highest standards. This includes the timeliness of birth weights, the administration of vitamins/minerals at birth and a tight vaccination protocol.

This is our first on farm sale and we are overwhelmed by the support from our community and fellow cattle friends. Thank you VJV marketing team for helping us expand into our own independent sale.

The VJV Livestock Marketing Group would like to welcome everyone out to the Blazin’ J Simmentals Bull and Female Sale. We are very excited for this to be our first bull sale of the year and what a great family and group of Simmental bulls to ring in the 2024 bull sale season with.

This is an exception group of bulls for seed stock breeders and commercial cattle ranchers to select from. The depth of the bull sale and offering will be a welcome addition to any herd across western Canada. VJV has had the opportunity over the past few years to sell the Blazin J commercial cattle and also Blazin J Simmental sired calves from many farms and ranches in the peace country. These Blazin J sired calves have topped some of our calf sales this past fall and consistently top the scales with great weaning weights. We have also seen these genetics held over to create exceptional females – through to mother cows.
