LIVING OUT THE

MISSION

GIVING GOOD GIFTS On the night before he died, Our Lord Jesus Christ said to his apostles, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I go to the Father” (John 14:12). Through the power of the Holy Spirit dwelling in Christ’s body — the Church — God the Father continues to accomplish His plan of salvation for the world. It is the Church whom He has appointed to co-operate with Him in His holy work. This is our purpose as brothers and sisters in Christ: to abide in him and bear fruit (John 15:5). In Him, we are called and empowered. St. Michael’s by-the-Sea is richly blessed with a healthy spiritual body comprised of a diverse array of spiritual gifts centered around this mission: To be a beacon of God’s Truth and Love through the richness of traditional Anglican worship, by equipping the saints to bear witness to Christ wherever they may be, and by sharing in Christ’s work of reconciliation and healing in the world.

GIVING

Open, O Lord, the eyes of all people to behold thy gracious hand in all thy works, that, rejoicing in thy whole creation, they may honor thee with their substance, and be faithful stewards of thy bounty. - Book of Common Prayer Stewardship is a posture of the heart. It is the lived acknowledgment that all things come from God and are entrusted to our care for His purposes. It is God’s own fruit that we give back to Him through out tithes and offerings as an expression of joyful gratitude for His abundant goodness and blessings. God is glorified when we are faithful to His providence in our lives! Thanks be to God, St. Michael’s is a very active campus, supporting ministries that touch the entire community. Your support allows St. Michael’s to grow in her mission and outreach. It is the desire of St. Michael’s leadership to honor God’s trust by using His resources wisely and for His purposes. Leadership operates within His provision and recognizes the responsibility to manage the resources He provides with integrity and faithfulness.

GIVING

Below are a few ways in which parishioners can give financially to the mission and ministries of St. Michael’s. Stewardship — Pledging A pledge is an outward and visible sign of faith and devotion that makes the Mission and Ministry of St. Michael’s possible. A pledge is a commitment to God, and to the community, that we will offer Him the first fruits of our labor. To commit financially to St. Michael’s: www.stmbts.org/stewardship Reoccurring Donations Recurring contributions can be set up through your banking institution. This is most cost-effective, as the bank directly posts a check payable to St. Michael’s. Church Bookkeeper Cindy Rees is available to walk you through this process: cindy@stmbts.org. Amazon Smile Bookmark smile.amazon.com as the new landing page for all your online shopping. Amazon will donate 0.5% of all purchases to St. Michael’s. Visit www.stmbts.org/give for instructions on setting St. Michael’s as your charitable organization. As we celebrate the gift of God’s Son for the salvation of the world, may we continue to grow in His image and likeness . . . as givers!
