We are a family operation, devoted to producing high quality, grass-efficient Angus genetics. We strive to do this in a way that benefits the health of all the parts of our operation. This includes our land, our cattle, our clients, our community and our family.

We truly believe in the importance of what we do. We’ve successfully used genetic improvement to increase our own productivity, profitability and sustainability, and because of this we’re committed to helping others do the same. Our bulls are backed by a cow herd that’s managed in a strict planned grazing system, with very minimal inputs. They’re also backed by a program that focuses on the natural aspects of animal form and function, rather than science and figures. We know our cattle and can see what type of animals are thriving right here at Cassilis, to us that’s invaluable. To quote Roger Payne, Biologist – ‘Any observant local knows more than any visiting scientist. Always. No exceptions’.
