Norman C. Francis Parkway, renamed from Jefferson Davis Parkway, runs from Xavier University to Bayou St. John. This name change occurred after the murder of George Floyd to honor Norman C. Francis, former president of Xavier University, a historically black institution. I probed this facet of New Orleans through the lens of community engagement in a place where the past and present converge.
