ECIVRES SY 2021-2022
Service Projects Each secondary class was asked to plan and complete a Service Project this school year. It was great to see students help plan, and then go out and complete their class projects. Through beach cleanups, helping at an animal shelter, raising funds and awareness, and reading to elementary students, OCSI Secondary students were able to experience the joy of "doing something for others."

Helping others makes the world a better place. Plus, it is contagious!
LEPAHC SY 2021-2022
This year in the secondary chapel, we covered the heroes of the faith listed in Hebrews 11. Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “confidence in what we hope for and assurance in what we do not see “. We looked at the heroes of the faith from Abraham to Noah and Moses. We also covered encounters Jesus had with different people like tax collectors and fishermen. We learned to become like Jesus, and treat people how he treated them. This year, in elementary, we looked at the Kings and the Prophets in the Old Testament. Through these chapels, we covered big questions like “What is God like?” , “Why can we trust God?”, and “Why should we obey God?”. We studied kings from Saul, David, and Solomon and learned from the words of the prophets like Elijah, Isaiah, and Jonah.
CHAPEL The purpose of chapel is to give the students an opportunity to worship our amazing God and to learn from His Word. Mark 8:36 says, "What do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?” Our life’s purpose is to live a life loving and serving our Creator. -Andy Roe, Chaplain
The worship team is led by Mr. Heisey and is a big part of the secondary chapel. There are three worship teams that learn music, practice playing together, and lead their fellow students in worship.
STRA ENIF SY 2021-2022
ARTISTS IN ACTION Music, Art, and Woodshop
Our COVID friendly music concerts this fall and winter were creatively held outside or in small groups in the gym and we were thankful for concerts at the Yomitan Hall this spring. Ms. Tuzi, our music teacher, led amazing Christmas concerts, a Pre-K Spring concert, and several Middle and High School concerts, incorporating both drama and skits into the production. Whether through art, music, or woodworking class, OCSI students from PreK-12th grade enjoyed showcasing their talents. Way to go OCSI Eagles, keep up the good work!
KOTO We were blessed to have a team of koto players come from Yokohama International School. Students were able to experience and hear traditional koto music. It was exciting that students could even touch and play the koto as well. We are grateful that the team could come and visited us and we hope they will be able to return again next year.

NEXT STEPS The Leadership Team is committed to partnering with parents to find new ways of receiving feedback and input from parents and to ensure parent voices are heard. We would encourage all families to communicate directly with their child's teacher and principal as well as engage with PTF this coming school year.

NEXT STEPS The Principals, Athletic Director, and PTF are looking forward to reduced COVID restrictions next school year and opportunities for new ways to expand after school activities, clubs, and athletics for students of all ages.
