MISSION-DRIVEN Are you on a mission? What does it mean to be MISSION-DRIVEN? Jesus left his followers with a mission in Matthew 28:19 to "go and make disciples of all nations". You may be on a mission to provide for your family, to protect your family, to protect God's beautiful creation here in Okinawa, or to build community for your children. At OCSI, we are on a mission to equip students to walk with Jesus and impact the world for Him. This mission drives all that we do and is the foundation for our school improvement goals. We know the world our children will join as adults is not the same as 20 years ago and it is changing rapidly. The challenges and opportunities they will face are unique and in response, the education we provide should prepare our students for this future. We are committed to ensuring our graduates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and character they need to be successful at navigating their future and in making a positive impact in this world for the things that matter most to God.

VISION-LED What leads you to make decisions? At OCSI, our vision leads us each step of the way as we seek God's will for continued school improvement and next steps. OCSI's Vision is for students to achieve the expected student outcomes; use what they are learning to serve God and others; be prepared for college, career, and citizenship; follow Jesus; and participate in the local church. Our Expected Student Outcomes, the EAGLES, paint a portrait of an OCSI learner. The OCSI Board and Leadership Team are committed to making decisions and improvements that will help our students Excel in Academics, Grow as Learners, and be Equipped to Serve. We hope that as your child learns more about God and the Bible here at OCSI, that your family will consider joining the community of a local Christian church. We would like to take a moment to share that this will be Coach Morris' last year coaching athletics here at OCSI. We are sad to see him leave, however, we are so grateful for his many years of dedicated service to the student athletes. He has been a pillar of our athletics program for more than ten years and has been a mentor and role model for so many of our students. SCITELHTA SY 2020-2021
Despite the many restrictions brought on by COVID which prevented athletic competitions with other schools, we were pleased to be able to offer several athletic clubs including basketball, soccer, hockey, volleyball, and funning.. We are so proud of the OCSI athletes who worked hard and gave their best effort. These clubs met throughout the year and gave students some time to practice practice their skills as well as a much needed outlet for their boundless energy.

ARTISTS IN ACTION Music, Art, and Woodshop
Our COVID friendly music concerts this year were creatively held outside or in small groups in the gym. Ms. Tuzi, our music teacher led amazing Christmas concerts, a Pre-K Spring concert, and several Middle and High School concerts, incorporating both drama and skits into the production. Whether through art, music, or wood working class, OCSI students from PreK12th grade enjoyed showcasing their talents. Way to go OCSI Eagles, keep up the good work!

NEXT STEPS The Leadership Team is committed to partnering with PTF to find new ways of receiving feedback and input from parents and to ensure parent voices are heard. We would encourage all families to actively engage with PTF this coming school year.

NEXT STEPS As soon as the COVID pandemic settles down, the Principals and Athletic Director will continue to look for new options to expand after school activities, clubs, and athletics for students of all ages.
