Q3, 2014 and Beyond So, the first three quarters of 2014 are history. It is hard to believe, but time flies. Here we are looking Halloween in the face only a few weeks away. And then Thanksgiving will be here before you can put away the ghosts and face paint. And… then we roll right in to the Christmas Season, and New Year’s holiday. Finally, we get to start the cycle all over again. See, time flies! Look for D.A.R. to be offering increased education opportunities for 2015. New challenges for 2015 include the new and improved Residential Purchase Agreement which we will be using very soon. So look for education classes to get up to speed. C.A.R. is even offering webinars on the RPA for Continuing Education credit. GRI classes will continue monthly. More Paragon and MLS training opportunities will continue. If you have specific requests for classes and instruction you would like to see made available from the association contact me or President Elect James Britto. Even BOLD is making a return appearance at D.A.R. BOLD is a real estate business practices plan that will assure your success as a real estate agent. It is a 9 week program and most of the sessions are held at the D.A.R. education center. Let us know if you want more information. Remember the Tech Helpline is available too. It is a free service to our DAR members. Those who have used the Tech Hotline have found it very, very helpful. Need more information on how to access the Hotline, call the association office.
Don’t forget your D.A.R. Realtor Store at the association office. It is well stocked for your business needs. Check out the 2015 Boss Real Estate Planners for 2015, signs and riders too. Next week many of the D.A.R. officers and Directors will be attending C.A.R. Expo in Anaheim next week, Oct. 8 - 11. These meetings are important for planning our 2015 goals as an association. All Realtors are invited to the Expo. Check it out at www.car.org. Our upcoming calendar includes our annual Holiday Open House Friday, December 5, and the association’s annual crab feed is set for February 28, 2015 at the Pittsburg Elks Club. Oh, and let us not forget to set aside Friday, January 16 to attend our installation event at the Antioch Lone Tree Golf Course. Now on a more serious note: I want to urge all REALTORS® and Brokers to think “safety first.” Recent tragic news just this week has once again demonstrated the need for caution on the part of every real estate agent. Please think of your surroundings and where and when you are showing properties. Realtors are service oriented and therefore want to assist a prospective client at every turn. Recent news has demonstrated the need for caution. Use the buddy system when showing property. Let your office know what property you plan to visit and with whom. And take a buddy. We will be looking to initiate agent safety training for all agents very soon. Look for information to follow.
