Für uns als Organisationskomitee ist es ein unglaubliches Gefühl, die Weltgymnaestrada nach 2007 nun zum zweiten Mal ausrichten zu dürfen.

Als eingespieltes Team mit den Erfahrungen aus 2007 und vielen neuen engagierten Männern und Frauen, die mit dabei sind, plus Tausenden von Ehrenamtlichen funktionieren wir als Einheit mit einem Ziel: Den Teilnehmenden aus so vielen Nationen, den BesucherInnen und der Bevölkerung des gastgebenden Bundeslandes Vorarlberg, eine unvergessliche und unvergleichliche Woche bieten zu können.

Das, was wir in unseren kühnsten Träumen nicht zu hoffen gewagt hätten, wird am 7. Juli Realität. Wir haben die internationale Turnfamilie wieder zu Gast in unserer Heimat. Unglaublich – sensationell!

Alle Turnbegeisterten heißen wir hier im äußersten Westen der Republik Österreich auf das Herzlichste willkommen. Den TurnerInnen können wir ganz klar versprechen: Ihr alle werdet hier mit großer Sehnsucht erwartet! »Es sind die Begegnungen mit Menschen, die das Leben lebenswert machen« – heißt es bei Guy de Maupassant. Dem ist nichts hinzu zu fügen.

It is an incredible feeling for us, the organising committee to be able to organise the World Gymnaestrada for the second time after 2007.

As a team, working well together with the experience of 2007 and many new dedicated men and women, who along with thousands of volunteers have one common goal: to offer an unforgettable and incomparable week to all the participants from the many countries, the visitors and the population of the host province Vorarlberg.

What was previously our wildest dream will become a reality on 7th of July. We have the international gymnastics family again in our home town of Dornbirn, in our homeland of Vorarlberg.

A hearty welcome in the name of all our fellow countrymen of the most western province of the republic of Austria for all enthusiastic gymnasts. We can promise all the gymnasts that you will all be eagerly awaited and welcomed with open arms here.

Willkommen zurück, Weltgymnaestrada!

Welcome back, World Gymnaestrada!

Nach zwölf Jahren gastiert das weltgrößte internationale Breitensportfestival in seiner 16. Auflage zur Freude des ganzen Landes wieder in Vorarlberg. Wie schon 2007, als unsere Region vom ganz besonderen Geist der Weltgymnaestrada erfasst worden war, werden sich die Stadt Dornbirn und das gesamte Vorarlberger Rheintal erneut in einen fulminanten multikulturellen Festivalschauplatz verwandeln. Turnsportbegeisterte aus 69 Nationen beteiligen sich – ein neuer Rekord in der 66-jährigen Geschichte der Weltgymnaestrada.

Voller Begeisterung und Vorfreude haben die eingebundenen HelferInnen in den letzten Wochen und Monaten die intensiven organisatorischen Vorbereitungen abgewickelt. Im Mittelpunkt steht das Anliegen, allen Gästen einen angenehmen und unvergesslichen Aufenthalt zu bieten. Es liegt uns viel daran, die Rolle als Gastgeber bestmöglich zu erfüllen.

Lasst uns unter dem Motto »come together. show your colours!« wieder gemeinsam ein mitreißendes Sportfest der Begegnung feiern! Den vielen freiwilligen HelferInnen, die mit ihrem Einsatz die Durchführung der Großveranstaltung überhaupt erst möglich machen, danken wir ganz herzlich.

To our great delight, the World Gymnaestrada, the largest international gymnastics festival in the world, has returned to Vorarlberg for this, the 16th edition. As in 2007, when Vorarlberg was overcome by the unique World Gymnaestrada spirit, the city of Dornbirn and the entire Rheintal region will now once again turn into an incredible melting-pot festival site. Gymnastics fans from 69 countries are participating in the event – a new record in 66 years of the World Gymnaestrada.

Over the last months and weeks, numerous helping hands and volunteers have enthusiastically gotten stuck into the intensive challenges of hosting this event. Great focus has been paid to offering all our numerous visitors a pleasant and unforgettable stay here in Vorarlberg. We are keen to ensure that we fulfill our role as a host to the best possible extent.

So, let’s all rally around the motto of “come together. show your colours!” once again and celebrate a wonderful festival of sports! A special thanks goes out to the countless individuals and volunteers who have made such a great event possible with their unwavering commitment.

Dear Gymnastics Family!

Der Österreichische Fachverband für Turnen (ÖFT) und sein Landesverband Vorarlberger Turnerschaft (VTS) sind sehr stolz und glücklich, die weltweite »Turnen für Alle«-Familie zur 16. Weltgymnaestrada in Dornbirn willkommen heißen zu dürfen.

Für die 16. Weltgymnaestrada kommen wir zurück in das schöne Dornbirn. Alle vier Jahre zelebriert die Weltgymnaestrada die Freude des Zusammenseins und des Turnens. Dieser besondere Event zeigt eindrücklich, was der Sport den Menschen überall in der Welt bringen kann.

Turnen ist nicht nur eine grundlegende Aktivität für körperliches und geistiges Wohlbefinden, sondern auch eine gemeinsame Sprache und Leidenschaft, die dabei helfen kann, Verbindungen zwischen Menschen mit unterschiedlichem kulturellen Hintergrund herzustellen.

Die Vorbereitungen für dieses Großereignis sind mehr als vier Jahre lang voran geschritten. Nun ist es endlich Zeit für den Höhepunkt – eine spektakuläre Woche mit 18.160 TurnsportlerInnen aus 69 Ländern und allen fünf Kontinenten. Wir danken euch allen für euer Vertrauen!

Doch ungeachtet ihrer großen Dimension begeistert und fasziniert die Weltgymnaestrada vor allem mit ihren großartigen Emotionen, ihrer Freude am Sport, ihrer Begeisterung für alle Formen des Turnsports.

Wir freuen uns schon riesig auf die unzähligen großartigen Shows in einer unvergesslichen Woche ohne Wettkämpfe, mit dem Lieblingssport von uns allen!

The Austrian Gymnastics Federation (ÖFT) and its regional organisation, Vorarlberger Turnerschaft (VTS), are very happy and proud to welcome the global “Gymnastics for All” community to the 16th World Gymnaestrada in Dornbirn.

Preparations for this major "Gymnastics for All" event have been going on for more than four years. Now it’s finally time for the climax – a spectacular week with more than 18,160 gymnasts coming from 69 countries across five continents. We thank you all for your support!

Regardless of its large scale, above all the World Gymnaestrada promises to be a thrilling and emotional occasion, with pure enjoyment of sports and enthusiasm for gymnastics in all its many forms. We are already looking forward to countless great shows and an unforgettable, uncompetitive week, featuring the very best of our favourite sport!

We are back in the beautiful city of Dornbirn for the 16th World Gymnaestrada. Every four years, the World Gymnaestrada celebrates the pure pleasure of being together and doing gymnastics. This outstanding event illustrates what the sport can bring to people all over the world. Gymnastics is not only an essential activity for physical and mental well-being. It is also a common language and passion which helps create connections between people from different cultures.

In Dornbirn and its surroundings, thousands of people from all the continents will join group performances marked by their cultures and their own inspiration. They have no other aim but the pure pleasure of taking part and sharing special moments with others.

On behalf of the International Gymnastics Federation, we would like to thank the Local Organising Committee, the Austrian Gymnastics Federation, the Vorarlberg Region and the City of Dornbirn and to pay tribute to the thousands of volunteers who make all this possible.

A gymnastics festival of superlatives

Die Weltgymnaestrada ist das größte internationale Breitensportfestival der Wellt und d wird d allle vier Jah hre in einer and deren Stad dt ausgetragen. Das Ziel der Veranstaltung ist es, Menschen aus aller Welt frei von Leistungsdruck und ohne Wettkampf zum Turnen zusammen zu bringen. Im Mittelpunkt stehen das konkurrenzlose Nebeneinander verschiedenster turnerischer Vorführungen und die Freude an der Bewegung. Keine Vorführung gleicht der anderen. Entsprechend der unterschiedlichen Tradition des Turnens in den verschiedenen Ländern bringt jedes Team nach seinen Möglichkeiten Musik, Show, Kostüme und sportliche (durchaus Höchst-) Leistungen in die Veranstaltung ein und trägt einen Teil dazu bei, die Vielfalt und Buntheit des Turnens zu präsentieren. So heißt denn auch das Motto der Weltgymnaestrada 2019: »come together. show your colours!«.

The World Gymnaestrada is the largest international group performance festival in the world, held every four years in a different global city. The aim of the event is to bring together people from all over the globe, with no competitiveness or pressure to perform. The sheer joy of movement takes centre stage, through a wide range of competitiveness-free performances, each different from the last. Each team brings their own music, shows, costumes and performances based on the varying gymnastic traditions of their country, all contributing to the diversity and colour of gymnastics. Quite fitting, then, that the motto of the World Gymaestrada 2019 is “come together. show your colours!”.

What does it mean?

Gymnaestrada ist ein vom Holländer Jan Sommers erfundenes Kunstwort und verbindet »Gymnastik« (Weltbegriff für alles, was mit den Turnsportarten zu tun hat), »strada« (Straße) und »estrada« (Bühne).

The word Gymnaestrada was invented by Jan Sommers from the Netherlands, fusing together “gymnastik” (a globally-recognised word for all things gymnastics), “strada” (street), and “estrada” (stage).

Wie ist das möglich?

How is it made possible?

Die Finanzierung der Weltgymnaestrada erfolgt zum größten Teil über den Teilnehmerbeitrag. Die SportlerInnen bezahlen Reise, Unterkunft, Verpflegung und die Teilnahmegebühr aus eigener Kasse. Zusätzliche Unterstützung kommt von den Sponsoren, denen an dieser Stelle ein herzlicher Dank ausgesprochen wird! Details dazu auf Seite 54. Und ganz besonders bemerkenswert sind die vielen, vielen Stunden an ehrenamtlicher Arbeit aus den Vorarlberger Vereinen. Ohne sie wäre die Umsetzung der Weltgymnaestrada nicht möglich.

The World Gymnaestrada is in large part financed by the registration fee. The participants pay for the travel, accommodation, food, and registration fee themselves. Further support comes from sponsors, to whom we express our huge gratitude! (More info on page 54). Also worthy of a special mention are the great many hours of volunteer work done by the Vorarlberg associations, who make an absolutely invaluable contribution. Without them, we wouldn’t even be able to hold this World Gymnaestrada.

Der Weltturnverband »FIG«

“FIG” – International Gymnastics Federation

Die Abkürzung FIG steht für »Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique« – den Weltturnverband. Die FIG ist der internationale Dachverband für Turnen und der älteste internationale Verband unter den olympischen Sportarten. Er nimmt seit dem Jahr 1896 an den Olympischen Spielen teil, zählt 156 nationale Mitgliedsverbände und hat seinen Sitz in Lausanne (CH).

FIG stands for “Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique” – the International Gymnastics Federation. It is the governing body for gymnastics worldwide and is the oldest established international federation of an Olympic sport, having participated in the Olympic Games since their revival in 1896. The FIG has 156 national member federations and has its headquarters in Lausanne (Switzerland).

Die Vergabe der Weltgymnaestrada erfolgt über den Weltturnverband FIG. Nach einem längeren Bewerbungsprozess wird üblicherweise fünf Jahre vor der Veranstaltung der neue Austragungsort ausgewählt. Dieser Abstand ermöglicht dem jeweiligen Organisationskomitee den Besuch der vorangehenden Weltgymnaestrada mit einem Blick hinter die Kulissen.

The World Gymnaestrada is awarded by the FIG. After a long application process, the new hosting location is normally unveiled five years before the event. This gives the respective organising committee the chance to get a look behind the scenes when visiting the previous World Gymnaestrada.

Im Hinblick auf die Vergabe der Weltgymnaestrada 2019 gab es diesmal eine Ausnahme, denn die Entscheidung für Dornbirn fiel erst während der Weltgymnaestrada 2015 in Finnland. In weiser Voraussicht und positiver Grundstimmung reiste Geschäftsführer Erwin Reis jedoch mit einer kleinen Abordnung nach Helsinki. Im Gepäck hatte er bereits gedruckte Folder sowie ein paar Roll-Ups, und die FIG war beeindruckt, als bereits 2 Stunden nach der Verlautbarung die ersten Folder mit »Weltgymnaestrada 2019 in Dornbirn« verteilt wurden.

The World Gymnaestrada 2019 was something of an exception as the decision to award it to Dornbirn was made during the holding of the previous event in Finland. With good foresight and a sense of optimism, the CEO Erwin Reis travelled with a small delegation to Helsinki. He packed with him some pre-printed documents and roll-ups, and the FIG were obviously impressed as, just two hours after the announcement, the first document labelled “World Gymnaestrada 2019 in Dornbirn” was handed out.

Durch die Weltgymnaestrada werden die Attraktivität und die Breite des Turnens unzähligen Menschen auf freudvolle und zwanglose Art und Weise nähergebracht. Die Weltgymnaestrada motiviert und aktiviert die Menschen zur Bewegung und bildet somit einen elementaren Basisbaustein für den Turnsport und seine weitere Entwicklung.

Besonders bemerkenswert ist der Multiplikator-Effekt einer jeden Weltgymnaestrada, denn die Zahlen der Neuanmeldungen in den Turnvereinen schnellen nach jeder Austragung in die Höhe, in manchen Ländern wurden sogar neue Turnvereine gegründet.

The World Gymnaestrada brings together the widest possible spectrum of people in the most enjoyable and relaxed setting. The event motivates and gets people moving, thereby building up a strong basis for the further development of gymnastics. It is particularly worth noting the “legacy” effect of each World Gymnaestrada – the figures for new registrations at gymnastic associations reach new highs after an event is hosted, and in some countries brand new associations are even established.

Ihre Shows sind sehr lebendig und sie leben neben der Bewältigung körperlicher Herausforderungen und entsprechenden Höchstleistungen von Emotionen und Freude.

The values that the World Gymnaestrada shouts from the rooftops are also experienced first-hand by many groups on a personal level. It comes as no surprise when they hear that, for all its competitions, gymnastics is a competitiveness-free zone, where instead the joy of movement, individuality and diversity take centre stage. It is about gymnastic groups in which individuals with and without disabilities get together to perform or dance. Their shows are vibrant and while they involve high performance levels and overcoming physical challenges, also include no small amount of emotion and joy.

»Wir wissen, dass Menschen mit und ohne Behinderung über Fähigkeiten und Stärken verfügen und gemeinsam einen qualitativ hochwertigen, tänzerisch-kulturellen Beitrag in künstlerischer Hinsicht leisten können.« lautet die Philosophie des »Tanzhaus Hohenems« (Vorarlberg, Österreich), welches Britta Hafner und Liba Šelner seit 12 Jahren gemeinsam leiten. Sie waren mit ihrer Gruppe bei der Weltgymnaestrada 2015 in Helsinki dabei und haben viele positive Erfahrungen gesammelt. »Die Vorführungen der Gruppe waren exakt, gelungen, sehr emotional – das spürte das Publikum, das die Ausstrahlung der TänzerInnen an- und aufnahm«, schreibt Doris Rinke († 2016) in ihrem Helsinki-Tagebuch. Sie und viele andere FörderInnen der Inklusion setzen sich für einen fairen und respektvollen Umgang miteinander ein, die Bündelung vieler kleiner Kräfte mit dem Ziel, ein großes Ganzes zu erreichen – exakt für die Werte der Weltgymnaestrada.

Tanzhaus Hohenems (Vorarlberg, Austria), led for the last 12 years

by Britta Hafner und Liba Šelner, has this ingrained into their philosophy: “We know that people with or without disabilities have their strengths and abilities, and together can bring forth a high-quality contribution to artistic dance culture.” They took their group to the World Gymnaestrada 2015 in Helsinki for an overwhelmingly positive experience. “The performances of the group were precise, successful, and very emotional – the audience could sense that too, and felt the vibrancy of the dancers first-hand”, wrote Doris Rinke († 2016) in her Helsinki diary. She, as well as many other supporters of inclusivity fly the flag for a fair and respectful bringing together of many individual strengths, achieving something which is bigger than the sum of its parts: exactly the values of the World Gymnaestrada itself.

Neben dem Tanzhaus Hohenems nehmen bei dieser Weltgymnaestrada auch zahlreiche andere Gruppen teil, bei denen Menschen mit und ohne Behinderung gemeinsam auftreten und das Publikum mit vielfältigen Shows begeistern werden – ganz nach dem Motto: »come togehter. show your colours!«.

show your colours … spielt auf die Vielfalt und Buntheit der weltweiten Turngemeinde an. Wörtlich bedeutet »show your colours«: Farbe bekennen oder Flagge zeigen. Für die TeilnehmerInnen kann es aber auch bedeuten: »Zeigt, was ihr könnt! Zeigt eure Show! Zeigt eure Vielfalt! Macht dieses Fest bunt!« Für die Gastgeber und die ZuschauerInnen wiederum kann es heißen: »Zeigt der Welt euer Land und verzaubert mit eurer Gastfreundschaft!«

show your colours … plays with the diversity and vibrance of gymnastics across the world. The literal meaning is a call for all to proudly show which colour you are or which flag you represent. But for participants this can also mean: “Show what you can do! Show your diversity! Hi there,

das Maskottchen der Weltgymnaestrada. Wie ihr unschwer erkennen könnt, bin ich eine Kuh. Ich bin sportlich, aktiv und weltoffen und symbolisiere durch mein buntes Fell die Vielfalt der teilnehmenden Nationen, welche die Weltgymnaestrada besuchen.

Außerdem verkörpere ich als Kuh Regionalität und zeige, aus welchem Land ich komme.

I am Dorli, the official mascot of the World Gymnaestrada! In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a cow.

But I’m sporty, active, open-minded and with my multi-coloured skin I symbolise the diversity of the participating nations at the World Gymnaestrada.

At the same time, as a cow I also stand as a symbol for the place I come from.

Ich wurde als Idee des Marketingleiters Marc Brugger im Mai 2016 geboren. Er beauftragte Mona Nagel mich zu zeichnen. Wie ihr sehen könnt, ist sie eine wahre Künstlerin. Ich ffiinde nämlich, dass ich sehr schön geworden bin. Annette Egger hat dann mein Kostüm entworfen und viele Stunden in mein Outfifit investiert.

Es passt perfekt und erfüllt auch den Anspruch, dass ich mich gut darin bewegen kann. Das ist natürlich wichtig, ich hatte nämlich in den letzten Jahren schon viele Einsätze. So war ich mit dem Organisationsteam auf zahlreichen Turnfesten und anderen Veranstaltungen, habe Flyer und Luftballons verteilt, Kinder umarmt, in den Armen von TurnerInnen in Kameras gelacht (ich bin mir ganz sicher, dass in fast jedem Land dieser Welt ein Foto von mir hängt), habe beim Maskottchenrun mitgemacht, war Darstellerin in zahlreichen Videos und habe zum offifiziellen Song getanzt. Wie ihr sehen könnt, bin ich also recht international unterwegs und sogar schon berühmt. Oft schon ist es mir passiert, dass ich von Leuten erkannt wurde, die ich noch nie gesehen habe. Meinen Namen scheinen sowieso alle zu kennen, doch ich glaube, das kommt auch von meiner aufregenden Taufe. Es gab nämlich eine internationale Abstimmung darüber, wie ich heißen solle. Und stellt euch vor, es haben tatsächlich 5.029 Personen aus 18 Nationen mitgestimmt. Ist das nicht unglaublich?

1.925 Personen haben sich für den Namen Dorli ausgesprochen und das bin ich jetzt, eure Dorli.

Ich hoffe, wir sehen uns auf der Weltgymnaestrada.

I was born as the idea of the marketing manager Marc Brugger in May 2016. He then commissioned Mona Nagel to draw me – as you can see, she is a true artist. I must say, I came out rather beautifully.

Annette Egger designed my costume and invested many hours in this outfit. I think it suits me down to the ground. It also means I can move very freely, which is important because I’ve been super busy these last few years: I’ve accompanied the organisers at loads of gymnastics festivals and events, given out flyers and balloons, hugged children, smiled into the camera with loads of gymnasts (I’m pretty sure there’s now a photo of me in every country in the world!), taken part in a mascot race, starred in countless videos, and danced to the official song. As you can see, I’ve been globetrotting and become something of a star; on many occasions I’ve been recognised by people I’ve never met before. Everyone seems to know my name by now, and I think that has something to do with my exciting naming ceremony. Actually, there was an international vote on the topic of my name – and incredibly 5,029 people from 18 countries took part! Isn’t that amazing? A grand total of 1,925 people voted for the name “Dorli”, and so that’s what I am now – your Dorli.

The chorus “like a rainbow in the sky” totally sums up what the World Gymaestrada is all about. It does so in a way that everyone can easily understand, no matter where they’re from in the world or what language they speak.

“Like a rainbow in the sky”: that’s the title and chorus of the World Gymnaestrada song, which was published back in April. It’s all about the togetherness of the performers who come from all over the world, and about what connects them: friendship, opportunity and limitlessness.

The song is moving not only in a metaphorical way but literally, in the fact that it’s got its own accompanying dance routine. For anyone who still doesn’t know the steps, you can check out the “instruction video” and be a part of it yourself and get up to dance with all the participants.

»Like a rainbow in the sky« lädt somit alle zum Mitmachen ein und wird die Weltgymnaestrada die ganze Woche begleiten. Eine Kurzversion davon wird als Jingle jede Vorführung einläuten.

Außerdem gibt es einen Klingelton daraus, den so richtige Fans kostenlos auf ihr Handy laden können.

“Like a rainbow in the sky” simply invites everyone to join in and will become familiar to all throughout World Gymnaestrada week. There will be a short version as a jingle at the start of each performance, and even a ringtone version for fans to download straight to their phone.

Bemerkenswert ist, dass die Komponisten, Sänger, Choreografen und das Filmteam aus Vorarlberg stammen. »Like a rainbow in the sky« ist somit »made in Vorarlberg« und beweist einmal mehr, dass Vorarlberg voller Talente, Kreativität und Weltoffenheit steckt.

It’s especially notable that the composers, singers, choreographers and the film team all come from here in Vorarlberg. This means “Like a rainbow in the sky” is very much “made in Vorarlberg” and shows once again that this area is full of talent, creativity and open-mindedness.

Welcome to Schwarzach, a neighboring community of Dornbirn with 3,985 inhabitants which was historically known for its leading whetstone production.

Wolfurt is home to one of Austria‘s most successful gymnastics clubs, and also a stage at the Cubus events centre.

Das Konzept der Nationendörfer beruht auf der Idee, dass die TeilnehmerInnen je nach Herkunft möglichst als ganze Nation im gleichen Ort untergebracht werden. Dies wurde 2007 bereits so umgesetzt und trug wesentlich zum Erfolg der Veranstaltung bei. Die Gastvereine und die Bevölkerung gaben ihr Bestes um »ihre Nation« willkommen zu heißen und die TeilnehmerInnen brachten Schwung und Farbe in »ihr« Nationendorf. Es entstanden Freundschaften und persönliche Beziehungen zwischen TeilnehmerInnen und GastgeberInnen, was den Aufenthalt zu einem speziellen Erlebnis machten. So ist der bevorstehende Besuch der Weltgymnaestrada 2019 für viele eine »Rückkehr zu Freunden«.

An dieser Stelle ein großes Dankeschön an alle Nationendörfer, die in ihrer Gastgeberrolle ausgezeichnete Arbeit leisten. Ohne ihr Engagement wäre die Weltgymnaestrada nicht ein so überwältigendes Fest der Herzlichkeit und Gastfreundschaft. Danke an Altach, Bregenz, Dornbirn, Feldkirch, Götzis, Hard, Höchst, Hohenems, Lauterach, Lustenau, Mäder, Rankweil, Schlins, Schwarzach, Sulz-Röthis und Wolfurt.

National Villages The concept of National Villages is that all participants can be accommodated as one nation as close as possible to each other in the same location. This was the case in 2007 and was a big factor in the event’s success. The host clubs and local people always try their best to provide a warm welcome to “their” nation (for example, by putting up posters in the corresponding languages), while the participants bring with them their own energy and colours to their particular National Village. Friendships and personal relations are formed between the participants and their hosts, making their stay a special experience for all concerned. This means that for many, this year’s World Gymnaestrada will also be a chance to rekindle old friendships.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt thanks to all National Villages, who do an extraordinary job in hosting so many participants in local schools. Without their commitment, the World Gymnaestrada would not be the incredible festival of cordiality and hospitality that it is. Zur großen Eröffnungsveranstaltung am Sonntag sammeln sich alle Aktiven auf der Birkenwiese – es folgt der große Einmarsch, bei dem alle Gruppen in den Farben ihrer jeweiligen Nation einmarschieren. Das Stadion Birkenwiese wurde mit Stehplatztribünen auf ein Fassungsvermögen von 25.000 Besucherplätzen erweitert, damit möglichst viele BesucherInnen die große Eröffnungsshow unter dem Motto »Show your colours!« mit Aktiven aus der ganzen Welt genießen können.

Anschließend an die Eröffnungsveranstaltung findet in den einzelnen Nationendörfern die Begrüßung frei nach dem Motto »Colour Our Village« statt. Alle GastgeberInnen freuen sich, ihre Gäste erstmals in ihrem Nationendorf begrüßen zu dürfen!

On Sunday, all participants will meet at Birkenwiese – each group will march in wearing their nation’s colours and take up their positions in the stadium. The stadium has now been extended to a capacity of 25,000 so that as many visitors as possible can enjoy the spectacular inaugural show with the “Show your Colours!” motto, involving participants from all over the world. After the Opening Ceremony, the mayors of the surrounding towns and villages will greet the guests in their National Villages as part of the “Colour our Village” motto. The hosts are all eagerly looking forward to welcoming the participants in their villages!

Bei dieser Abendveranstaltung stehen Großgruppen im Zentrum des Geschehens: heimische Eltern-Kind-Vorführungen mit mehr als 450 Beteiligten, verschiedenste internationale Großgruppen und die mit Spannung erwartete Dornbirn-Premiere des World-Teams. Und wenn es schon »Dornbirn Special« heißt, darf ein gemeinsamer Auftritt der städtischen Blasmusikvereine natürlich nicht fehlen!

At this evening event, Large Groups are placed well and truly in the spotlight. Whether that’s a home-grown parent-children performance of more than 450 participants, various large groups, or the highly-anticipated Premiere of the World Team in Dornbirn. And of course, going by the name of “Dornbirn Special”, a performance in conjunction with the city’s brass music bands is absolutely not to be missed!

Nach der Übergabe der FIG-Fahne an Amsterdam als Veranstalter der 17. Weltgymnaestrada 2023 bildet eine große Abschieds-Party den Schlusspunkt!

After an unforgettable week it’s time to go out with a bang, and what better way than a huge show featuring participants from all five continents, putting on a display which illustrates the true variety of gymnastics. After the FIG flag is ceremoniously passed on to Amsterdam as the host of the 17th World Gymnaestrada 2023, there’ll be a great big farewell party!

14 groups of gymnasts from throughout Switzerland unite for a unique joint performance. The show brings together gymnastics, dance, apparatus gymnastics, acrobatics, theatricality and humour in an impressive representation of Swiss gymnastics.

Gleich zweimal präsentiert sich die Gastgeber-Nation unter dem Motto »Let’s colour the world«. Vereine aus Vorarlberg, Kärnten, Salzburg und Oberösterreich zeigen eine abwechslungsreiche Show. Die Turn- und Gymnastik-Nationalteams und eine bunt gemischte, 100-köpfige Österreichgruppe bereichern das Programm und werden dann zum Finale gemeinsam mit 1.000 SportlerInnen auf der Bühne stehen. Höhepunkte sind unter anderem eine Liveband und Special Guests aus Afrika.

The host nation is presenting itself twice under the “Let’s colour the world” motto. Clubs from Vorarlberg, Carinthia, Salzburg and Upper Austria present a varied show. The national gymnastics and gymnastics teams and a colourful 100-member Austrian group will enrich the programme and will then be on stage together with 1,000 athletes for the finale. Other highlights include a live band and special guests from Africa.

»Balance« – so lautet das Motto der beiden nationalen Vorführungen der skandinavischen Länder Finnland, Dänemark, Schweden und Norwegen. Die vier Jahreszeiten bilden den Rahmen der Show, die von 14 hochklassigen Turngruppen mit ca. 500 TurnerInnen getragen wird.

“Balance”: that is the motto of both performances from the Scandinavian countries of Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Built around the theme of the four seasons, the show comprises 14 top-class gymnastic groups totalling around 500 gymnasts.

Verantwortlich dafür sind die Produzenten des »Feuerwerk der Turnkunst«, die aufgrund ihrer jahrelangen Erfahrung mit Europas erfolgreichster Turnshow bestmöglich geeignet sind.

462 members from 14 groups will be involved in this performance, representing a diversity of German gymnastics never seen before. Taking charge of this are the producers of the famous “Feuerwerk der Turnkunst”, and thanks to these years of experience with Europe’s most successful gymnastics show, the performance seems almost predestined for greatness.

Mit ca. 900 (!) AkteurInnen auf der Fläche und mit der Geschichte eines Fabelwesens hat sich der portugiesische Verband etwas Spezielles für seinen nationalen Abend ausgedacht. Das Spektrum reicht von Tanz bis Turnen, von Gymnastik bis »GYMMY« – dem eigens angereisten Maskottchen. (Diese Vorführung ist besonders für Familien mit Kindern empfehlenswert.)

With around 900 (!) participants and based around the story of a mythical creature, the Portuguese federation has put together something truly remarkable for their National Evening. Their show incorporates all things dance and gymnastics, including a special appearance by their mascot “Gymmy” … (This performance is particularly recommended for families with children.)

2019 is the year the Italian gymnastics association celebrates its 150th birthday. To mark the occasion, they will present a vibrant show with a gymnastic performance taking in rhythmic gymnastics, dance and acrobatics, theatre and traditions. The largest Asian nation at the 16th World Gymnaestrada has always stood for both tradition and precision. Let yourself be enchanted by the sound of taiko drums, world-class floor routine, and also by the groups from other Asian countries who provide support to the Land of the Rising Sun here.

PAGU stands for an amalgamation of pan-American gymnastics associations, from places as far apart as Canada, the USA, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, and other South American countries. When all these different groups come together as one, the result will be nothing less than diverse and mesmerizing. It promises an evening full of vitality, passion and rhythm which will captivate the audience from start to finish.

Die FIG-Gala ist ein Highlight der Weltgymnaestrada und der internationalen Turnwelt. Sie ist eine Veranstaltung, welche die Vielfalt des »Turnen für Alle« und ihre Interpretation durch die FIG demonstrieren wird. Die 90-minütige Turn-, Licht- und Musik-Show ist zusammengestellt aus den kreativsten Gruppen der Weltgymnaestrada 2019.

The FIG Gala is a highlight of the World Gymnaestrada and the international gymnastic world as a whole! It’s an event which showcases the diversity that the FIG’s “Gymnastics for All” represents. This 90-minute gymnastics, lights and music show has been put together by the most creative groups of the World Gymnaestrada 2019.

Da die Karten für die FIG-Gala ausverkauft ft sind, wird ein Public Viewing der zweiten Gala angeboten: Freitag, 12. Juli 20.30 Uhr, Messequartier Dornbirn, Halle 9 Regulärer Kartenvorverkauf, mehr dazu auf S. 31.

Die Gruppenvorführungen im Messequartier Dornbirn sind sozusagen das Herzstück der Weltgymnaestrada, finden hier doch in acht Hallen gleichzeitig Vorführungen von knapp 300 Gruppen aus mehr als 69 Nationen statt. Die Aufführungen dauern jeweils 10 oder 15 Minuten, finden wahlweise mit oder ohne Geräteeinsatz statt und zeigen die geballte Vielfalt und Kreativität des Turnsports.

The Group Performances in the Trade Exhibition Centre in Dornbirn are the beating heart of the World Gymnaestrada, where the performances of 300 groups from more than 69 different nations will take place. The performances last either 10 or 15 minutes, are staged both with and without apparatus, and demonstrate the sheer variety and creativity of gymnastics.

Das Motto der Workshop-Reihe lautet »Bewegungsangebot für Jede(n), für alle TeilnehmerInnen und ZuschauerInnen«

The topic of the workshops is “Movement for everyone, whether participant or spectator”.

Die Workshops finden am Samstagvormittag in vier verschiedenen Hallen im Messequartier Dornbirn statt. Zusätzlich ist geplant, weitere Plattformen außerhalb des zentralen Veranstaltungsbereichs für teilnehmende TrainerInnen und ÜbungsleiterInnen anzubieten mit dem Ziel, auch die lokale Bevölkerung miteinzubeziehen. Dabei kommt es zu einer Kooperation der Weltgymnaestrada mit der in Vorarlberg bestens bekannten Sportinitiative »Vorarlberg >> bewegt«, welche ein umfangreiches Angebot für sportlich interessierte Personen bietet, um die Workshop-Palette zusätzlich zu erweitern – und zwar direkt vor Ort in den Nationendörfern.

The workshops will take place on Saturday morning in four different halls in the Trade Exhibition Centre in Dornbirn. In addition, there will be platforms outside the main venues for the trainers of participating groups, with the intention of involving the local population. As well as this, the established “Vorarlberg >> bewegt” sports initiative will be joining forces with the World Gymnaestrada to support the hosting of workshops. Large Group Performances

Großgruppenvorführungen sind eine Besonderheit der Weltgymnaestrada: Turnen in einer Gruppengröße von 200 bis 1.000 TurnerInnen übt eine ganz spezielle Faszination aus und bietet den ZuschauerInnen eine unvergleichbare Show, wenn ein ganzes Stadion bespielt wird.

Large Group Performances are a hallmark of the World Gymnaestrada: gymnastic displays in groups ranging from 200 to 1,000 participants, putting on a show the audience will never forget – especially when the stadium is packed.

Übrigens: Am Donnerstag wird zudem noch das World-Team im Programm mitwirken!

World-Team: die Welt vereint sich in einer Choreografie

World Team: the planet united as one

Das Organisationsteam der Weltgymnaestrada 2015 Helsinki hat das World-Team ins Leben gerufen und damit einen neuen Meilenstein für die Weltgymnaestrada gesetzt. Das Ergebnis war ein außergewöhnlicher Erfolg und wurde deshalb ins Konzept der Weltgymnaestrada 2019 übernommen.

The organizing team of the World Gymnaestrada 2015 in Helsinki were the first to originate the World Team concept and, in doing so, another milestone for the World Gymnaestrada was passed. The result was an unmitigated success, so bringing the concept back for this World Gymnaestrada 2019 was a no-brainer.

Das World-Team ist eine internationale Großgruppenvorführung, bei der TurnerInnen der ganzen Welt teilnehmen können. Die Choreografie wurde im Sommer 2017 bereits zur Verfügung gestellt und seither konnte auf allen Kontinenten von den Teilnehmenden selbst geprobt werden.

In Dornbirn erlebt das World-Team 2019 in dieser Konstellation nun seine Premiere: 1.920 TurnerInnen aus allen Kontinenten der Welt vereinen sich in einer berührenden gemeinsamen Show.

The World Team is an international Group Performance in which gymnasts from anywhere in the world can take part. The choreography was already decided on and made available back in Summer 2017, and since then participants from all continents have been trying it out for themselves.

So here is how the World Team 2019 will line up for its premiere in Dornbirn: 1,920 gymnasts from all over the world will unite for a spectacular joint performance.

Eine große Herausforderung rund um das World-Team steckt hinter der Choreografie, da diese für eine so hohe Anzahl an TeilnehmerInnen mit unterschiedlichen turnerischen Fähigkeiten funktionieren muss. Britta Hafner und Anne Thaeter haben sich dieser Aufgabe angenommen und Großartiges geleistet. »Wir haben uns den künstlerischen und koordinativen Anspruch gesetzt, in der Formation das Miteinander zu spiegeln. Die Teilnehmenden sollen nicht die Sicherheit im Nebeneinander wählen, sondern immer mit dem Gedanken spielen, einen gemeinsamen Weg in der Umsetzung finden zu können«, berichtet Anne Thaeter über die Choreografie.

One significant challenge when it comes to the World Team is the choreography itself, as it has to work perfectly for as many participants with different gymnastic abilities. Britta Hafner and Anne Thaeter took on this challenge and overcame it wonderfully. “We set ourselves the artistic and coordinative goal to reflect a sense of togetherness in the formation. Those taking part should at no time feel they are against one another, and should instead always play with the fact that they are finding a way together to make this a reality,” says Anne Thaeter.

Dank der großen Begeisterung unter den Teilnehmenden kam es zu derart hohen Anmeldezahlen, dass aufgrund der begrenzten Kapazität der Vorführfläche im Stadion Birkenweise das World-Team in zwei Gruppen unterteilt werden musste: World-Team »Blau« und World-Team »Grün«.

In fact, there was such enthusiasm to participate and such high registration numbers that due to the limited performance area at the Birkenwiese Stadium Dornbirn, the World Team had to be divided into two groups – World Team “Blue” and World Team “Green”.

From Saturday, 6th July to Saturday 13th July, the “Gymnaestrada Piazza” is set up at the Town Hall Square (Rathausplatz) in Vaduz. Gymnastics all over the Rheintal

Dornbirn ist mit dem Messequartier und der Birkenwiese das Zentrum der Weltgymnaestrada, doch darüber hinaus finden im ganzen Rheintal zahlreiche Vorführungen statt. Neben dem Casino Stadion in Bregenz, welches die Großgruppen beherbergt, gibt es acht Außenbühnen, die im ganzen Land verteilt sind. Egal, wo man sich im Rheintal gerade aufhält, es ist von nirgends weit zu den nächsten Vorführungen.

Dornbirn is the focal point of the World Gymnaestrada with the Trade Exhibition Centre and the Birkenwiese Stadium, but a great number of events also take place in various other places around the Rheintal region.

As well as the Casino Stadium in Bregenz which will host the Large Group Performances, there are a further eight outdoor stages spread across the whole area. This means that wherever you’re stationed in the Rheintal region, there’ll be a performance going on somewhere near you.

With ideal transport connections to the whole Rheintal region, expanded stands for 25,000 spectators, and located directly at the local recreation area, the Birkenwiese Stadium is the ideal place for the Opening Ceremony, the Dornbirn Special and the Closing Ceremony of the World Gymnaestrada.

Das Casino Stadion in Bregenz hat eine Spielfläche von 6.800 m2, bietet 2.600 Sitzplätze (1.000 davon sind überdacht) und 7.600 Stehplätze.

Es befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Bahnhof, zum See und zur Innenstadt und kann somit vielen Ansprüchen für die hier stattfindenden Großgruppenvorführungen gerecht werden.

The Casino Stadium in Bregenz has a playing surface of 6,800 m2, seating for 2,600 spectators (1,000 under cover) and 7,600 standing places. It is located a stone’s throw away from the train station, the lake, and the city centre, so it is an ideal location for the Large Group Performances which will take place there.

In acht verschiedenen Gemeinden Vorarlbergs sind an zentralen Standorten Außenbühnen aufgebaut. Die Weltgymnaestrada kommt somit in die Herzen der Städte und die Vorführungen werden mit Sicherheit sehr viele ZuschauerInnen begeistern können. Der Besuch von Stadtaufführungen ist übrigens kostenlos.

Special outdoor stages are erected in central locations in eight different cities and towns in Vorarlberg. This means the World Gymnaestrada will be given centre stage at these places, and is sure to enchant a huge number of spectators. By the way, visiting the city performances is completely free!

Die Weltgymnaestrada-M Meile hat während der ganzen Woche täglich von 9 – 23 Uhr geöffnet und bietet allen BesucherInnen abseits der offiziellen Vorführungen ein zusätzliches Programm. Zahlreiche Essensstände sorgen für Verpflegung und offerieren quer durch die internationale Küche frisch zubereitete Speisen und Getränke.

The World Gymnaestrada Mile is open daily from 9:00 – 23:00 throughout the week, and offers visitors an extra programme alongside all the official performances. A wide range of food stands are a treat for the taste buds, offering all kinds of international food and drinks.

Auch für die kleinen BesucherInnen gibt es ein eigenes Programm, mehr dazu auf S. 37.

It’s where all visitors can while away the hours with great food options and daily live music after they’ve been to one of the events. Actually, even those without tickets to performances can come here from 17:00 onwards each day to breathe in some World Gymnaestrada air and get a feel for the flair of this international event.

Autofrei zur Weltgymnaestrada

Car-free at the World Gymnaestrada

Das vorhandene Angebot des sehr gut ausgebauten Öffentlichen Verkehrs in Vorarlberg bildet während der Weltgymnaestrada die Basis, daneben werden täglich zusätzlich 22 Züge geführt. Die Region wird in vier Farben eingeteilt, die Lenkung der TeilnehmerInnen und BesucherInnen erfolgt damit sehr einfach und ohne sprachliche Barrieren.

Vorarlberg has a very well-connected public transport system, which will be further strengthened during the World Gymnaestrada with 22 extra trains per day. The region is handily divided into four colours, meaning participants and visitors can easily find their way around without having to worry about language barriers.

Express busses

Ergänzt wird der Fahrplan durch ein neues, zukunftsweisendes Angebot an Expressbussen. Diese fahren nur Stopps direkt im Zentrum an und bedienen Haltestellen, die auf die TeilnehmerInnen abgestimmt sind. Expressbusse stehen ausschließlich TeilnehmerInnen und BesucherInnen mit gültigen Eintrittskarten beziehungsweise gültigen Tickets des Vorarlberger Verkehrsverbundes zur Verfügung.

Accommodation in Hotels and Schools

Bereits vor der Vergabe der Weltgymnaestrada reservierte das Organisationsteam in weiser Voraussicht über den Hotel-Partner »Bodensee-Vorarlberg Tourismus« das maximale Kontingent an Hotelzimmern im Rheintal. Dass diese Kapazitäten auch gebraucht werden, bestätigt die 100%ige Auslastung an Betten während der Weltgymnaestrada-Woche.

Rund 50 Hotels zwischen Bregenz und Feldkirch werden gut 3.000 TeilnehmerInnen beherbergen.

Even before the World Gymnaestrada was confirmed, the organizing team had the foresight to reserve the maximum possible number of hotel rooms around the Rheintal region, thanks to partners at BodenseeVorarlberg Tourism. All this capacity was in fact taken up in the end, illustrating the incredible demand for beds during World Gymnaestrada week – around 50 hotels between Bregenz and Feldkirch, either end of the valley, will host 3,000 participants.

Da diese Einteilung ebenfalls dem Nationendorf-Konzept folgt, war eine kontinuierliche Abstimmung zwischen Bodensee-Vorarlberg Tourismus und den Verantwortlichen der Schulunterkünfte dringend notwendig.

Denn ganz nach Weltgymnaestrada-Tradition übernachtet (und frühstückt) der Großteil an TeilnehmerInnen in Schulen. Konkret sind dies 13.600 Personen in über 1.200 Klassenräumen, verteilt auf 72 Schulen (Landes- und Bundesschulen). Die Schulverantwortlichen haben in den letzten Jahren jede einzelne Schule besucht und kennen inzwischen auch alle Klassenzimmer und Sanitäranlagen, die von den TeilnehmerInnen genutzt werden.

These arrangements will also be in line with the National Villages concept, so a constant coordination took place between Bodensee-Vorarlberg Tourism and those responsible for the schools accommodation. This is because according to World Gymnaestrada tradition, the majority of participants sleep (and have breakfast) in local schools, meaning 13,600 people will sleep in 1,200 classrooms in 72 different schools! Those in charge of school accommodation visited each and every school over the last few years, and are very familiar with all the classrooms and facilities which will be used by the participants.

Viele Schulklassen haben in der letzten Schulwoche die Schule für ihre Gastnation entsprechend vorbereitet und beispielsweise durch »Willkommensschilder« in der entsprechenden Sprache dekoriert. Außerdem haben auch die Sommerferien heuer einen Tag früher begonnen, denn so konnten die dadurch leeren Klassenzimmer am Freitag, 5. Juli, bereits als Unterkunftsebenen vorbereitet werden.

Die Realisierung solcher Herausforderungen beweist einmal mehr, dass die Umsetzung der Weltgymnaestrada deshalb möglich ist, weil sie in ganz Vorarlberg als ein gemeinsames Ziel wahrgenommen wird.

In the last week of term, many school classes were busy preparing the classrooms according to their particular guest nation, with special touches such as welcome signs in the appropriate language. What’s more, this year the summer holidays have begun a day earlier for the local students here, so that the classrooms could be transformed into cosy accommodation settings on Friday 5th July.

The way this has been carried out has proven once again that the World Gymnaestrada can only take place like this because the whole Vorarlberg region and its people are all pulling together to make it happen.

A look behind the scenes: Logistical challenges

Zigtausende Gegenstände wurden bereits vorab in die Schulen gebracht, um dort von den TeilnehmerInnen direkt in Empfang genommen werden zu können. Dazu zählen etwa Luftmatratzen, Luftpumpen, Kissen, Decken, Trinkflaschen, Turnbeutel, World-Team-T-Shirts, Frühstücksgeschirr inkl. aller dazu benötigten Küchengeräte, individualisierte Buspläne, Informations-Aushänge in der entsprechenden Sprache, etc.

Thousands of items were already brought to the schools in advance, so that participants can pick them up there upon arrival. This includes things such as air mattresses, air pumps, pillows, sheets, water bottles, gym bags, World Team T-shirts, breakfast cutlery (including all required kitchen equipment), individualised bus timetables, info posters in appropriate languages, and more.

Das Menü für die TeilnehmerInnen steht seit gut zwei Jahren fest. Es gibt jeden Tag zwei Varianten zur Auswahl, davon eine mit Fleisch und eine vegetarisch. Nach welchen Kriterien habt ihr das Menü zusammengestellt?

The menu for the participants has been defined for a good two years now, with two variations to choose from every day, a meat option and vegetarian option. According to which criteria did you choose the menu?

Bei der Planung können wir auf unsere Auslandserfahrungswerte der letzten drei Olympischen Spielen zurückblicken. Wir wissen auch, dass Sportler gehaltvolles Essen mit viel Kohlenhydraten brauchen.

Wir hatten zwei Planunggs-Schwerpunkte: Zum einen ist es unser Anspruch, ein internationales Publikum zufrieden zu stellen. Der kulturellee Aspekt spielt eine nicht zu unterschätzende Rolle und wir mussten Lebensmittel finden, die jeder mag. Zum anderen ging es darum, Lebensmittel aus Vorarlberg zu ver-kochen und keine Rezepte mit »nicht-heimischen« Produkkten zu wählen. So gibt es zum Beeispiel keine Bananen, sondern Äpfel.

In the planning process we took inspiration from experiences abroad at the last three Olympic games. We are aware, for example, that sportspeople need nourishing food with lots of carbohydrates. We had two main pointss off focus while planning. Firstly was the need to satisfy a thoroughly national audience – cultural inteern pects played an important asp role and we had to find foods which would appeal to all.

The second point was that we wanted to prepare food using only ingredients from Vorarlberg and therefore fo to have no recipes contaain ning non-local products. This is thee reason there are no bananas, for examp ple, with apples used instead.

How do you organise the purchasing of all the ingredients?

Hier ist die Koordination der Liefertermine ein wichtiger Aspekt. Die Lebensmittel sollten so frisch wie möglich sein und somit so spät wie möglich geliefert werden, gleichzeitig brauchen wir aber auch genug Vorlaufzeit zur Verarbeitung. Wir haben einen genauen und sehr umfangreichen Zeitplan dazu erarbeitet.

For this, a calculation according to delivery dates is the most important aspect. The ingredients should be as fresh as possible, which means they should be delivered as late as possible. At the same time, we need enough lead time for the preparation. For this reason, we’ve set up a very specific and extensive time schedule.

Tap water is drinking water

Vorarlbergs Wasser hat Trinkwasserqualität. Es besteht somit keine Notwendigkeit, Wasser zu kaufen! Einfach den Wasserhahn aufdrehen und die Weltgymnaestrada-Flasche befüllen, so einfach geht’s – Prost!

Vorarlberg’s water is very much drinkable! This means there is absolutely no need to buy water. Just turn on the tap and fill up your very own World Gymnaestrada bottle, and: cheers!

Alle TeilnehmerInnen erhalten kostenlos gegen Vorlage des Vouchers auf ihrer Akkreditierungskarte eine Trinkflasche und einen Turnbeutel. Diese können in der jeweiligen Schule eingelöst werden. Wer nicht in Schulen nächtigt, kann den Voucher auf der Gymnaestradameile (zw. Halle 8 und 9) einlösen.

Upon presentation of the voucher on their accreditation card, all participants will receive a drinking bottle and a gym bag for free. These can be picked up at their respective school. Who is not staying in a school can exchange their voucher at Gymnaestrada Mile (between Hall 8 and 9) at the Trade Exh. Centre.

In Österreich unterliegen die meisten Medikamente einer ärztlichen Verschreibungspflicht. Notwendige Verschreibungen können im Medical Centre vom dort diensthabenden Arzt ausgestellt werden.

In Austria, most medication requires a prescription from a doctor. Any prescriptions which may be required can be issued by the on-duty doctor at the Medical Centre located in the Trade Exhibition Centre.

Auf dem Veranstaltungsgelände sind überall WeltgymnaestradaMitarbeiterInnen verfügbar, die gerne Fragen beantworten und über die neuesten Ereignisse informieren. Diese Personen sind durch ihre roten Shirts mit dem Aufdruck »ask me« leicht zu erkennen.

At the event site, World Gymnaestrada staff will be happy to answer any questions and give you all the latest information. The staff are instantly recognisable by their red shirts with the words “ask me”.

Medizinische Versorgung

Medical Service

Während der ganzen Weltgymnaestrada-Woche steht den akkreditierten TeilnehmerInnen im Messequartier in der Halle 15 ein medizinischer Service zur Verfügung. Im extra dafür eingerichteten Medical Centre stehen umfassende diagnostische und therapeutische Möglichkeiten bereit, einschließlich einer kompletten Physiotherapie. Zudem können, bei Bedarf, zeitnah Fachärzte vermittelt werden. Das Medical Centre steht mit seinen Ressourcen den TeamärztInnen und PhysiotherapeutInnen der teilnehmenden Nationen jederzeit zur Verfügung.

A 24 / 7 emergency office is available at the Trade Exhibition Centre in Hall 15 for the entire duration of the World Gymnaestrada 2019. This Medical Centre is ready to meet a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic needs, including comprehensive physiotherapy. Additionally, specialist doctors are also available at the Medical Centre as required. The Medical Centre and its resources are available at all times to the respective team doctors and physiotherapists of the participating nations.

Die medizinischen Leistungen, einschließlich der Physiotherapie des Medical Centres, sind für alle akkreditierten TeilnehmerInnen kostenlos. Allfällige medizinische Leistungen, die im Krankenhaus oder in Einrichtungen außerhalb des Medical Centre in Anspruch genommen werden, sind für alle BewohnerInnen der Europäischen Union kostenlos, sofern die Europäische Versicherungskarte vorliegt. Nicht-EUBürgerInnen müssen für geleistete Dienste aufkommen. Bei Rückkehr ins Heimatland kann um Rückerstattung bei der jeweiligen Versicherung angesucht werden.

Medical services, including physiotherapy in the Medical Centre, are available for free to all Gymnaestrada participants. Any medical treatment used outside the Medical Centre, in hospitals or other institutions, are free of charge for all EU citizens as long as they have a European health insurance card. For non-EU citizens, any treatment received must be paid for; reimbursement requests can then be made to their home country medical insurance upon return. Participants with the World Gymnaestrada Generali insurance policy will have any treatment covered under their insurance.

Alle TeilnehmerInnen der Gymnaestrada sind dringend aufgefordert, neben ihrer Akkreditierung ihren Versicherungsnachweis für Notfälle bereit zu haben. Teilnehmer mit Generali Versicherung haben einen entsprechenden Nachweis auf ihrer Akkreditierung vermerkt.

All Gymnaestrada participants are strongly urged to have with them their proof of insurance in case of emergency, in addition to their accreditation. Participants with Generali insurance will have corresponding proof of this noted on their accreditation card.

Lost & Found

Jeder gefundene Gegenstand wird an der jeweiligen Veranstaltungsstätte am Info-Stand aufbewahrt (Ausnahme: Casino Stadion Bregenz und Stadion Birkenwiese Dornbirn, hier an der Kassa), bis er dem offiziellen Fundbüro der jeweiligen Gemeinde übergeben wird.

All found objects are stored at the Info Point of the respective venue (with the exception of the Casino Stadium Bregenz and Birkenwiese Stadium Dornbirn, here they are stored at the ticket centre), until being transferred to the official lost property office of the respective municipality.
