The latest Performance Pay Tracking Period began on July 1. We are striving to meet the Patient Satisfaction goal of a ≥ 50% rating (experience as “Excellent”). In order to create a comfortable margin of performance, while continuing to improve the patient experience, we would like to share some feedback from recent patient focus groups. The two areas that patients value the most are: 1. Communication from the treating crew: “Explain treatment options and procedures” “Provide reassurance and compassionate communication with the patient” 2. Setting clear expectations: “Set transport length expectation” “Set a triage level expectation before arriving at the hospital”

COMPLIANCE CLASS TRAINING Corporate Compliance training is offered online via the LMS. You can go into the Computer Lab (formerly the Corporate Compliance classroom) or at your desk to complete the training. In order to successfully complete this LMS training, please be aware of the following: Passwords and Login It is your responsibility to ensure that you have access to the Success Factors Learning Management System (LMS). You will need to log into the LMS to complete your compliance training and to set up your fit testing/TB test, if applicable. Paramedic Field Training Officer Medical Services Trevor Taylor

SUMMARY The Field Training Officer provides training, coaching, and mentoring for clinical skills, operational performance and customer service to newly-hired employees of the Agency during their initial orientation period as well as practical skill preceptorship for Paramedic and EMT students from various teaching institutions and training centers. The FTO is also responsible to meet the job requirements and expectations for a Paramedic Crew Chief to include administering basic and advanced life support and stabilization procedures to patients at the accident or illness scene, transporting patients to medical facilities and supervising and coordinating ambulance unit activities during an assigned shift. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Train all newly-hired employees to meet or exceed Agency standards to include operational and clinical performance. Help prepare assigned new hire for success with Oral Boards and Scope of Practice. Mentor newly-hired employees with the transition into the Agency to include area orientation, operational guidance, Standards of Behavior and Agency protocol review. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Paramedic, does not have to be only at Mecklenburg EMS Agency. Minimum of 2 year’s experience as a Crew Chief with Mecklenburg EMS Agency, does not have to be consecutive years. Open to any full-time ALS 911 Crew Chief with exception of supervisory or airport staff. CANNOT hold a position of Relief Operations Supervisor due to the expanded duties. Current with all In-Service and Corporate Compliance Training. No definitive Level 1 or 2 Medical Incident Reviews within the past 12 months. No Level 2 or higher disciplinary actions within the past 12 months. Must have a previous FISDAP score equal to or greater than 72, OR successfully completed both the written and skills portions of the National Registry Exam within the past 12 months. FISDAP retesting will be allowed but must be completed prior to application deadline.
