PATIENT REUNION: BETTY FALKS In October of 2017, Jenna Galanti and the recently-retired Gene Starnes arrived for a cardiac arrest call to find Mrs. Betty Falks on the floor with no pulse. Along with the Charlotte Fire Department, medics were able to revive her within minutes. Mrs. Falks was grateful to meet Jenna and Gene and enjoyed a tour of Medic headquarters along with her grateful daughter and grandchildren. For more information, email PR@medic911.com

The latest Performance Pay Tracking Period began on July 1. We are striving to meet the Patient Satisfaction goal of a ≥ 50% rating (experience as “Excellent”). In order to create a comfortable margin of performance, while continuing to improve the patient experience, we would like to share some feedback from recent patient focus groups. The two areas that patients value the most are: 1. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: PR The Public Relations Department is a small team with a big voice. The staff of three (Grace Nelson - PR Supervisor, Lester Oliva - Public Information Specialist and Tiffany Archibald - Mass Communications Specialist) is responsible for all aspects of communications for Medic. This includes everything from EMS Week and Football Fridays to media coverage and educational events for the community.

PUBLIC RELATIONS DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES Media Inquiries: Responds to media requests on a daily basis.
Presentation Creation: Creates presentation material for Agency use during In-Service, on boarding, and more.
Media Engagement: Promotes the substantial impact Medic employees have on the citizens of Mecklenburg County by gathering and proposing positive stories to media outlets.
Website Content & Design: Designs and maintains www.medic911.com.
External Communications: Updates and informs stakeholders of current Medic projects. Internal Communications: Disperses vital information to all employees by spearheading communications throughout each department. Community Engagement: Attends and organizes
Branding in the Community: Ensures that Medic’s brand is consistent throughout all platforms, from social media to flyers and brochures. Agency Event Management: Plans and executes events including the annual Night of Honor, EMS Week, Football Fridays, and more.

FIRST RESPONDERS FOREVER STAMP The United States Postal Service will release a forever stamp honoring first responders at a dedication ceremony on Sept. 13, 2018. According to USPS. com, “With this stamp, the Postal Service recognizes the men and women — including firefighters, law enforcement officers and emergency medical service professionals.”
