The latest Performance Pay Tracking Period began on March 1. We are striving to meet the Patient Satisfaction goal of a ≥ 50% rating (experience as “Excellent”). In order to create a comfortable margin of performance, while continuing to improve the patient experience, we would like to share some feedback from recent patient focus groups. The two areas that patients value the most are: 1. Communication from the treating crew: “Explain treatment options and procedures” “Provide reassurance and compassionate communication with the patient” 2. Setting clear expectations: “Set transport length expectation” “Set a triage level expectation before arriving at the hospital”

Nineteen month old Oliver Hightshoe wants you to meet his new baby sister, Alaina Judith Hightshoe. Born on Friday, June 9th at 9:34 am at CMC Pineville, she weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20.25 inches long. Mommy and his baby sister are both doing well resting at home. Congratulations Hightshoes!

FALL 2017 SIMULATIONS Simulation rotations will begin 8/1 and conclude on 10/30 

Each simulation session will last approx. 2 hours

On Wednesday, June 7, Medic was dispatched to a working house fire on the 8100 Block of Maxwelton Drive. Affected by the fire, two of three cats required treatment. Medic and CFD administered oxygen and successfully revived the two cats. All 3 cats (cat #3 was alert & fine) were transported and treated for smoke inhalation. On scene: MEDIC 21 and 42; Huntersville Engines 1, 2, Ladders 1, 2, Heavy Rescue 1; Cornelius Engines 2, 3, 4, Squad 8 and Brush 6; and the Fire Marshals Office.
