As previously noted, the latest Performance Pay Tracking Period began on March 1st. We are striving to meet the Patient Satisfaction goal of a ≥ 65% rating (experience as “Excellent”). In order to create a comfortable margin of performance, while continuing to improve the patient experience, we would like to share some feedback from recent patient focus groups. The two areas that patients value the most are: 1. Communication from the treating crew: “Explain treatment options and procedures” “Provide reassurance and compassionate communication with the patient”

SEPTEMBER 2014

2. Setting clear expectations: “Set transport length expectation” “Set a triage level expectation before arriving at the hospital”

There is a new rehabilitation and skilled nursing facility opening in Huntersville. Huntersville Health and Rehab is a 90 bed facility. They are not using neighborhood names like other facilities. However, their main focus is rehab and are also accepting some long term skilled patients. They started taking patients on May 30, 2016. The facility is located at: 3835 Boren Street Huntersville, North Carolina 28078 (704) 912-2222 huntersvillehealthrehab.com Last week, Jamie Stanford met with the facility’s, Administrator and Director of Nursing. She shared that some crews may want to come by to take a look around their facility. The facility is very open to providing tours to MEDIC personnel. Simply introduce yourself at the front desk and ask for a tour. They are also having an open house on June 4th from 1100-1500. If you would like to attend the open house, please RSVP on their website (listed above). A full floor plan and evacuation route was emailed to Field and CMED on June 2. Field and CMED personnel are strongly encouraged to take a few minutes, review the email and the floor plan. Hallways are labeled 100, 200 and 300. For more info, please contact Jamie Stanford at jamies@medic911.com.
