To start designing a PDSA cycle, we need to accomplish 3 tasks before actually moving to the “P” (in PDSA): 1. Define an objective for each PDSA cycle 2. As previously noted, the latest Performance Pay Tracking Period began on March 1st. We are striving to meet the Patient Satisfaction goal of a ≥ 68% rating (experience as “Excellent”). In order to create a comfortable margin of performance, while continuing to improve the patient experience, we would like to share some feedback from recent patient focus groups. The two areas that patients value the most are: 1. Communication from the treating crew: “Explain treatment options and procedures” “Provide reassurance and compassionate communication with the patient” 2. Setting clear expectations: “Set transport length expectation” “Set a triage level expectation before arriving at the hospital”

Medic is looking to add field personnel to the Ambulance Recommendation Team. We are looking for one representative at this time. As communicated during the most recent in service sessions, a team is being convened to evaluate options and make recommendations regarding the Agency’s ambulance design. New national safety standards are being implemented that we will be looking to adhere to, providing an excellent opportunity to evaluate options as a whole to ensure we have the most appropriate, safest, and cost effective ambulance design possible. This small team will begin meeting in June. Having a representative from field operations is an important component and we are looking for one such individual to join the team. The requirements for all applicants are below: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Currently a full-time member of field operations Minimum of three years full time with Medic as a care provider in the field No disciplinary action (level 1 or higher) in the past 12 months Score of Exceeds Expectations or higher on most recent performance review Able to meet as often as once a week for 1-2 hours at a time based around your current scheduled shift (time will be paid) 6. Committed to making all meetings with limited exception 7. Committed to completing all homework assignments between meetings 8. Willing to work as part of a team with the Agency’s best interests in mind 9. All applicants must have the approval and support of their Direct Supervisor in writing (an email to Jeff Keith will suffice) 10. All applications must be submitted by May 31 Please send an email expressing your desire to join this team to Jeff Keith, and have your Supervisor send a note to Jeff as well in support of your participation. Please note that ALL field personnel will be afforded opportunities to provide input and feedback throughout this process – much like the new building and carry in equipment projects have provided. We are intent on making sure any changes made to the current ambulance design not only meet the new safety standards – but that they also yield an improved care environment for our clinicians and patients alike. If you have any questions – please feel free to contact Jeff Keith at any time at jeffk@medic911.com or 704-943-6160.
