@MecklenburgEMS
CONGRATULATIONS CLASS! You’ve completed the first module in the Learning Lab! The first module was all about the “planning process” and culminated with the creation of our latest strategic objectives. As a refresher, those strategic objectives were:
• Develop leaders who know what they are responsible for, are equipped and engaged, and understand how their role and performance affects the organization. • Foster a culture that values diversity, while actively promoting inclusion so that each individual employee can contribute to their fullest potential. • Use our system of understanding the needs of our patients to deliver services that meet their needs. So, ok, “What happens now?” you ask? Well luck for us, we have Learning Lab Module 2 ready to go! This module will be all about Project Management; how projects are developed, chosen for action, and how all of that process is applied and managed. We will introduce to terms we use at medic, such as pull cards, chartering, project work teams, and project maps. So get your project hats on... Also I encourage you to send any questions in you may have or thoughts regarding this to Tiffany (tiffanya@medic911.com), so that we can help explain the proj ect management here in the Agency better. Next week will start with Unit One, “How a Bill Becomes a Law”… Oh wait, that’s not it. It’s “How a Stra tegic Objective Becomes a Project”. But it is a very similar concept! I look forward to seeing you next week!
Mr. Oliva, I cannot begin to tell you how thankful Mrs. Wilkins and I are to have you! We appreciate you and the Mecklenburg EMS Agency for opening your doors to our Harding students. You truly educated our students in this field and the level of compassion that you have for what you do is amazing. This is the best shadow we have been on all year! We look forward to continuing to work with you and will love to have you come back out to Harding in the near future. Sincerely, Joevanne K. Estrada, MBA MeckEd, Career Pathways Advisor Central Piedmont Community College 2 medic91 1.com Harding High School
As previously noted, the latest Performance Pay Tracking Period began on November 1st. We are striving to meet the Patient Satisfaction goal of a ≥ 68% rating (experience as “Excellent”). In order to create a comfortable margin of performance, while continuing to improve the patient experience, we would like to share some feedback from recent patient focus groups. The two areas that patients value the most are: 1. Communication from the treating crew: “Explain treatment options and procedures” “Provide reassurance and compassionate communication with the patient” 2. Setting clear expectations: “Set transport length expectation” “Set a triage level expectation before arriving at the hospital”
