I know your time is valuable and we are honored to have you here with us today. So let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work!

Because so many of you were unable to attend during the week while others were unable to attend on Saturday, we decided to host the event over two days. By offering flexibility for those who could only attend one day, we also provided an option for others to attend both days.

We have consciously limited the size of the audience in order to create a core group of attendees who can build important and lasting partnerships. This Summit does not end with this weekend; it should serve to bond us all for a long time to come!

Recognizing the importance of supporting sports organizations, small minority and LGBTQ+ owned businesses and community non-profits is one important way to show your support for diversity. I hope you will join me in supporting each other, not only today but long after this Summit is over.

We are gathered here today to further diversity, equity and inclusion in the Greater Phoenix area and beyond by learning about one another and the many important opportunities available to us when we work together.

When we first started Compete in 2006 many people said it wouldn’t last. Yet here we are 16+ years later, working hard to make a difference. And it is because of partners like the Arizona Cardinals, AARP, SRP and many others that we have the opportunity to do that.
