TRIPLE THREAT+1
The Talent’s Of April Floyd
There are numerous chancesthat we all have taken, and we also know that opportunity only knocks once, and if we ignore it, then we will be waiting around for a second chance that technically may never come. With that being said, this leads me to a phenomenal woman. Not only is she dedicated, but her drive is on a higher level. When it comes to creativity, the overall goal is to help inspire others, so that they too can reach and capture their own dreams and potential. April Floyd has put her all into her own creative side and has made her star brighter by sharing her gift, remaining humble and a person who knows who she is. I also believe that she understood and recognized each and every connection between: Determination and Ambitions, but more importantly she knew at an early age. Without further ado, this was my conversation with April Floyd!

T. Where are you from and what’s your age? And please introduce yourself.
A. My name is April Floyd. I was born on the same day as my shero, Mya Angelou, April 4, 1973. I am coming up on my 50th birthday.
T. Well Happy Birthday!
At what age did you or someone else notice your connection with creative writing?
A. I went to school at Nipher Middle in Kirkwood. In the sixth grade, I had a reading teacher named Mrs. Johns. I wrote an essay, and she said I was a natural-born creative writer. All that was pleasing, except no one explained how I could make a career in creative writing, so I would write short stories for fun. It was a time when we had box computers and floppy drives. I wrote and finished my first novel, “The Look Of Love,” in 2001.
T. That’s awesome, I actually started writing poetry and short stories in 4th grade. Are there other family members in the Arts and Entertainment?
A. My husband is Eddie Floyd and he’s a photographer and producer. He’s the son of the legendary Eddie (Knock On Wood) Floyd. My husband’s uncle is Robert West of Lupine Records.
My daughter, Sonya Miller Floyd, is an actress, rapper, mixologist, and media specialist and my son Terry Scott, is an actor and runway model.

T. This next question is a bit cliche, but, who or what motivates and or inspires you?
A. My most significant motivation is my spiritual purpose. I can not imagine the Creator-Of-All putting all this in me to hold it for myself. My favorite authors are Sandra Brown and Danielle Steels, they inspired me to write books. Chaka Khan, Beyonce and my father-in-law are also my inspirations. As a film screenwriter, producer and author, I’m inspired by Shanda Rhimes.
T. I see and understand why you are a Triple Threat (+1) with that being said, besides the fact that you’re a published author, please let the reader’s know about your other accomplishments.
A. I’m a screenwriter. I’ve written “I Am Unique,” I’m a songwriter. I wrote “It’s Time To Vote” and “Wicked Butterflies.” I directed and produced a short, “I Am Unique,” based on my novel, “Unique World & Unique Life,”
T. What are the reasons, or should I say decisions on creating a full circle Entertainment Group, for yourself?
A. It made sense to use all my skill set to carry me through. Most will say this way of doing things is crazy, and much goes undone by doing it this way. I see it as building my left hand to shake my right hand. In doing so, I’m growing slowly and fast simultaneously, but everything comes full circle.
T. You’re grounded, considering you do and have done a lot within your career and being a public figure can become overwhelming. How do you balance it all?
A. I remain humbled and allow love to govern my every move. I haven’t been overwhelmed by being a public figure. I learned very early in this business that there are three things you can’t get back and they are: Time, Your Words, and Opportunity. I don’t allow others to waste my time.
My words are used carefully and I let my yes and no mean yes and no. I always ensure not to tickle people’s ears with false hopes and dreams. And I jump on every opportunity that God puts in my path. I stay grounded by building up others. I have taught over 200 people in film acting, film etiquette and the experience of a Hollywood set. I ensured that everyone felt they could do or be whatever they wanted in the industry, regardless of their challenges. Efforts like these fill my soul.
T. That’s great! I know that you’re an actress. Is it theater or film? What are some of the roles that you played?
A.I played Rose Payne-Townspeople, in the film (Claimed) by Elle Mercurio. I l was a Choir member in ( The Perfect Mate) I look forward to fulfilling more dramatic roles, in films
T. Where do you see yourself, within the next 5 years?
A. As a screenwriter, being sought after by significant streaming networks. At least 30 to 40 more films with my name on them as a writer, more acting in films. My unique messages getting out in the world through entertainment.

T. April it was a pleasure to have met you, I see positive vibes and continued success! For more information
