Murkemz! Murkemz! Murkemz!

The words came out like several rounds from a high powered riffle as “Murkemz” performed in front of a large crowd in Adelanto, California. Several months earlier, Media Made had the pleasure of attending an album release party where a handful of selected guests enjoyed two dozen of “Murkemz” newly released tracks. “Murkemz” has worked with many well known artists and names like “Rass Kass“ Ice T” and “Lazy Bone” are amongst the many. “Murkemz” has the demeanor of of a quiet, laid-back jazz musician. He sat calmly and very relaxed as the guests nodded their heads to multiple tracks. Just when you thought you had heard the best tracks. “Murkemz” blows out a little smoke and tells the engineer to play more. “Murkemz” really wanted the guests to hear as much as possible and get feedback.

If you think you’ve seen and heard all from “Murkemz” You definitely have not. “Murkemz always has a few extra rounds ready to “Merc” you lyrically. We suggest you stay on track with him, “Murkemz” will be around and consistent for years to come. Media Made found out why.

QUE: What’s your formula for creating tracks, etc?

MUR: It varies. Sometimes I listen to a track, put together different flows and cadences. Then I start filling it in with more detailed sentences. Other times, I have no idea what to write but I figure it out after listening to the track multiple times and It usually comes within a few bars.

QUE: You’ve remained consistent in the business. Explain your tactics.

MUR: Being coachable, versatile and listening. I’ve learned there’s always room for improvement, so I follow through to the max!

QUE: Is there another direction you would’ve taken in life, if the music hadn’t worked?

MUR: I can’t even call it. I really can’t comprehend a life with Music.

QUE: What’s the best advice you’ve heard?

MUR: “Strike while the Iron is hot!” From Bree’Zee and “You miss every shot you don’t take” Kobe Bryant.

QUE: What advice do you have for new artists?

MUR: Don’t ever give up!
