H.E.R.
Gabriella
Sarmiento Wilson, born and raised in Vallejo California on June 27, 1997. Gabi a nickname given by her parents, learned to play music at a very early age. The inspirations for music came from her father Kenny Wilson, who was a member of a California band named Urban Bushmen. Gabriella played at the legendary Apollo Theatre when she was nine years old. The first major appearance was “The Today Show” where she covered piano for Alicia Keys. Gabriella was twelve years old at the time.

Gabriella would go on to perform two songs at the ASCAP Awards and was later voted one among the three Radio Disney’s “Next Big Thing.” Gabriella was still, only twelve years old.
Gabriella continued to write and produce music. She eventually caught the attention of Sony Entertainment and signed with the label. She was fourteen when she released her debut single titled ‘Something to Prove’. As expected “The Artist H.E.R” which means “having everything revealed” was slowly catching more and more attention. H.E.R decided to put more energy into the next EP. She took a two year hiatus but continued to write music. Back from the hiatus now 2016 H.E.R signed with RCA records. She dropped the debut EP titled ‘H.E.R. Volume one.” Kehlani, K. Michelle and Zhavia were executive producers on the EP. Noted artists Alicia Keys and Bryson Tiller helped in bringing attention to the EP and once again H.E.R was right back in the ears of music fans. Usher, Pusha T and Rianna assisted in promoting the EP via social media. Rianna posted a video clip with H.E.R’s track “Focus” playing in the background. The views of the video exceeded five million and H.E.R’s numbers on her social media and sales began rising quickly. Spotify showed the tracks from the album had been reviewed, at the lest twenty million times. The numbers on all combined streaming platforms, the album was listened to sixty five million times. Shortly afterwards, Forbes and The Rolling Stones magazines included H.E.R. on their lists of artists to look out for. 2017, she released her sophomore EP titled “H.E.R. Vol two”’ which was also executively produced by Kehlani, K Michelle and Zhavia. The track “Say it Again” was listed as the favorite and the album hit the seventh spot in the R&B chart.
Just a few months later, came the follow up to her second EP titled “H.E.R. Vol two, The B Sides.”
H.E.R would release five EPs back to back. Then in late 2017, H.E.R released a compilation album titled ‘H.E.R.’ and received five Grammy award nominations, ‘Best New Artist’ and “Album of the Year.” H.E.R captured the audience during the 2017 BET Experience Concerts in Los Angeles. During the show, she performed with Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Kudi and DJ Khalid. In August 2018, the fourth EP titled “I Used to Know Her: The Prelude.” via RCA Records. It made it to the US Billboard 200 chart and hit the twentieth spot. In the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop chart, the EP hit the twellth spot. The album topped the US R&B Chart. In November 2018, H.E.R. released “I Used to Know Her: Part two”, and of course it would place on several American charts. H.E.R collaborated with Daniel Caesar on his single “Best Part” which made it to the top of US Adult R&B Chart. The song was certified Platinum by the RIAA.
H.E.R has appeared on various soundtracks of films and TV series’. The Netflix original series “Dear White People”, she featured with the song titled “Still Down”. H.E.R also appeared on the soundtracks of “Uncle Drew” and “Superfly” with songs “I Can Feel It” and “This Way.”

“Judas and the Black Messiah” an Academy Award Winner for Best Original Song. She’s crossed genres on tracks with Daniel Caesar, YG and Skip Marley.
She was a featured quest on Jhene Aiko Platinum track “BS”, Toni Braxton’s “Gotta Move On” Robert Glasper’s “Better Than I Imagined” supported by Meshell Ndegeocello. More collaborations include Chris Brown’s “Come Through” additional artists Mary J Blidge, Saweetie, Lil Baby, Ty Dolla $ign, Thundercat and Kaytranada. Sly and The Family Stone’s “Dance to The Music” H.E.R’s cover version appears on the soundtrack Minions, Rise of The Guru. She has performed at the Pre-game festivals for Super Bowl LV February 2021. Later that year November 2021 Apple Music Awards announced H.E.R as the winner of song writer of the year. Gabriella, Gabi, H.E.R is defiantly on H.E.R way to be amongst the great musicians of the R&B world. She has touched so many lives with H.E.R heartfelt vibes and good music!
