α Χριστούγεννα πλησιάζουν και η πόλη ντύθηκε στα γιορτινά της. Ο δήμαρχος, κρέμασε στους δρόμους τα πολύχρωμα λαμπιόνια του και ο κόσμος, σαν πολύβουο μελίσσι, κινείται ανάμεσα στα αυτοκίνητα, που έχουν ανέβει πάνω σε πεζοδρόμια και στα μαγαζιά, που φόρτωσαν τις βιτρίνες με την καλύτερη πραμάτεια τους, περιμένοντας τις μέρες αυτές, για να λύσουν τα κεσάτια των προηγούμενων μηνών. Μπλοκαρισμένη, απομεσήμερο Παρασκευής, στο συνηθισμένο μποτιλιάρισμα της Τσιμισκή κινούμαι είκοσι μέτρα κάθε πέντε λεπτά. Κοιτάω μπροστά χωρίς να βλέπω, απορροφημένη από τις σκέψεις μου και κουρασμένη από τον φόρτο της μέρας που ξεκίνησε από το πρωί και δεν λέει να τελειώσει. Ένα κτύπημα στο τζάμι, μ’ έκανε να γυρίσω το βλέμμα μου. Αντίκρυσα το πρόσωπο ενός κοριτσιού, γύρω στα δώδεκα, με αχυρένια κατσαρά μαλλιά. Μου γνέφει. Κατέβασα αργά το παράθυρο. Ένας μπόμπιρας, γύρω στα πέντε με έξι χρόνια, κρατούσε σφικτά το κορίτσι απ’ το πανωφόρι. -Πάρτε κυρία, είπε το κορίτσι, με σπαστά ελληνικά, απλώνοντας το χέρι του. Κρατούσε ένα περίεργο πράγμα. -Τι είναι αυτό; ρώτησα με απορία. -Φυλακτό. Φυλακτό που θα σας προστατεύει όλο το δωδεκάμερο από τους καλικατζάρους, μου απάντησε. Οι καλικάντζαροι... με μιας η σκέψη με γύρισε στο παρελθόν. Χρόνια είχα ν’ ακούσω γι αυτούς. Γι’ αυτά τα δαιμονικά με το ανθρώπινο σώμα και τα τραγίσια πόδια, που τάραζαν και τρομοκρατούσαν την παιδική μου ψυχή. Όταν, οι μεγάλοι λέγανε ιστορίες με δαύτους, εγώ φώλιαζα στην αγκαλιά της μάνας μου και κοίταζα την καπνοδόχο, μην έρθουνε και με πάρουνε. Οι βαβουτσικάριοι, όπως τους έλεγε η γιαγιά μου η Ανούσκα απ’ τον Πόντο, που έρχονται από της γης τα έγκατα κι όλο το χρόνο πολεμάνε με τα τσεκούρια τους να κόψουν το δέντρο, το οποίο βαστάει τη γη. Κι όταν κοντεύουν να το κόψουν, γεννάται ο Χριστός και το δέντρο ξαναγίνεται. Τότε, αυτοί, θυμωμένοι ορμούν πάνω στη γη για να βλάψουν τους ανθρώπους. Θυμάμαι την αγαλλίαση που νιώθαμε, όταν την παραμονή των Φώτων περιμέναμε τον παπά για να αγιάσει και τραγουδούσαμε: φύγετε, φύγετε/γιατί ήρθε ο παπάς/με την αγιαστούρα του/και με τη βρεχτούρα του.

-Φτάνουν; ρώτησα και πρότεινα την χούφτα μου με ό,τι χρήματα βρήκα πρόχειρα στην τσέπη μου. Το κορίτσι κοντοστάθηκε να τα μετρήσει. -Είναι πολλά, ψέλλισε. -Δεν πειράζει, είπα εγώ, κράτησέ τα. -Όχι, όχι είναι πολλά, αποκρίθηκε περήφανα το κορίτσι κι έκανε να μου γυρίσει τα ρέστα. Οι βιαστικοί οδηγοί, πίσω, μου κορνάρισαν λες και θα έχαναν τα είκοσι επόμενα μέτρα του χρόνου. του δυνάστη μας. Κινήθηκα. Αυτή ακολούθησε, έσκυψε στο μισάνοιχτο τζάμι κι άφησε ένα ακόμη φυλακτό. Για τους φίλους σας, να τους φυλάει κι αυτούς από τους καλικατζάρους, είπε και το χαμόγελο φώτισε τ όμορφο προσωπάκι της. Έμεινα να την κοιτάζω, καθώς κινιότανε ανάμεσα σε ανθρώπους κι αυτοκίνητα, με τον μπόμπιρα, πάντα κολλημένο επάνω της. Σίμωνε τους ανθρώπους, έγνεφε και κτυπούσε τα τζάμια των οδηγών προφέροντας το φυλακτό της αθωότητας και της ανάγκης της. Οι πιο πολλοί αδιαφορούσαν, άλλοι γκρίνιαζαν που γίνονταν εμπόδιο στου χρόνου τους το διάβα κι άλλοι, δε γύριζαν ούτε να την κοιτάξουν, κλεισμένοι στη μοναξιά του φόβου τους. Ώσπου την έχασα, στην οχλοβοή του πλήθους και στην αναγκαιότητα της κίνησης. Σήμερα, συλλογίστηκα καθώς έψαχνα μάταια να την ξανανταμώσω με την ματιά μου. σήμερα, το δέντρο του κόσμου δεν κινδυνεύει από τα τσεκούρια των καλικάντζαρων. Μεγαλώσαμε. Από της απάθειας και της αδιαφορίας μας το έλλειμμα κινδυνεύουμε. Ο Διονύσης, στο ράδιο, με μπάσα φωνή και συνοδεία των αγγέλων ψέλνει, μουρμουρίζει, συμπάσχει και ομολογεί: «...Και συ που ψάχνεις το κουκί και το ρεβίθι, στο τέλμα αυτό που βυθιζόμαστε/ ψάξε μαζί τους το δικό σου παραμύθι/γιατί χανόμαστε. Μεσ’ το δικό σου παραμύθι ξαναβρέστο/το ξεχασμένο μονοπάτι σου/ και ξαναχάστο, ξαναβρέστο, ξαναπέστο/το τραγουδάκι σου...» Χριστός γεννάται σήμερον και μια ευχή. Ας διώξουμε τα κάγκελα του φόβου που κρατούν όμηρο την ανθρωπιά μας, ας ξαναβρούμε το ξεχασμένο μονοπάτι των αξιών μας, ας δούμε στον πλησίον μας τον εαυτό μας.

Έχε το νου σου στο παιδί... και μην ξεχνάς... αυτό που κρύβεις μέσα σου!

hristmas is coming and the city is in its festive mood. The mayor hung in the streets colorful lights and people, like bumblebees, move between cars parked on the sidewalks and the shops that have put on their windows their best merchandise, in anticipation of selling what they could not sell the previous months. It is Friday, midday, I am in the usual traffic jam of Tsimiski street and the car moves twenty metres every five minutes. I look ahead without seeing, absorbed in my thoughts and tired of the burdens of the day that started in the morning and it is not over yet. A tap on the window made me turn my eyes a tap on the glass made me look back. I saw a girl’s face, around twelve, with straw colored curly hair. She beckoned to me. Slowly I lowered the window. A toddler, around five or six years old, is tightly clutching the girl from her coat. -»Please, lady» said the girl, in broken Greek, stretching her hand. She was holding something strange. -What is this? I asked. -It is an amulet. An amulet that protects you all the twelve days from the goblins, she replied. The goblins ... my mind went to the past. I had not heard about them for years. These demonic ugly creatures that terrified my childhood. When the adults were telling us stories about them, I hugged my mother and prayed “please do not come to take me. My grandmother, Anouska, from the Black Sea, would tell me stories about them. How they would come from the depths of the earth and how all year round they would try to cut with their axes the tree that holds the earth. And when they are about to succeed, Christ is born and the tree is strong again. Then they would get angry and frustrated and they want to harm people.

I remember the relief that we would feel when on the eve of the Epiphany we waited for the priest to bless the water and we sung “go, go now/ the priest is here/ with his aspergill and his sprinkler”. - Is it enough they? I asked and gave her a handful of coins I found in my pocket. The girl paused to count them. -It is lot, she stammered. -It does not matter, I said, keep it. - No, not too much, the girl responded proudly She tried to give me the change. The impatient drivers behind me, honked as if they would lose the next twenty metres of their precious time. I moved on. She followed, leaning to the half-open window and gave me another amulet. For your friends, to protect them from the goblins, she said and a smile lit her beautiful face. I stared at her as she moved between people and cars, with the toddler always clutching her coat. She beckoned to people and tapped the drivers’ windows offering the amulet of innocence and her need. Most were indifferent, others would grumble because she was a hindrance to their precious time and others did not even turn to look at her, locked up in the loneliness of their fears. Then I lost her, in the noisy crowd and because I had to drive on. Today, I thought, I was looking, trying in vain to see her again; today, the tree of the world is not in danger of being axed by the goblins. We have grown up. But the danger lies in our indifference and apathy. On the radio, a bass voice accompanied by an angelic chorus, sings about a lost fairy tale that we need to find again. Christ is born today and there is one wish. Let’s get rid of the chains of fear that keep hostage our humanity, let’s find our forgotten values and let’s find ourselves in our fellow human beings.

Keep your mind on the child ... and do not forget what you hide inside you!

Στο Salone del Mobile ο κόσμος ενθουσιάζονταν με την ιδέα ότι τα φωτιστικά ισορροπούσαν, τα άγγιζαν να σιγουρευτούν ότι δεν υπήρχε κάποιο τρικ εκτός της βαρύτητας. Ίδιες θετικές αντιδράσεις και στο London Design Festival όπου προσκλήθηκα από την curator της γκαλερί “Mint”, Lina Kanafani ως ένας δημιουργός “με την ικανότητα να ανατρέπει το προφανές και να ρίχνει φως στην προκατάληψη”».

Η έρευνα που έχετε κάνει σχετίζεται με την αναζήτηση της “σύγχρονης αστικότητας”. Πώς την ορίζεται; Μπορείτε να δώσετε oρισμένα παραδείγματα; «O όρος αστικότητα αναφέρεται στον τρόπο ζωής της μητρόπολης έτσι όπως αυτός άρχισε να σχηματίζεται από τη μεταφορά πληθυσμού από την ύπαιθρο στα μεγάλα αστικά κέντρα. Με τον τρόπο αυτό η μαζική συγκέντρωση των ανθρώπων διαμορφώνει ένα μεταβαλλόμενο κώδικα συνηθειών και τρόπου ζωής που ορίζει το αστικό φαινόμενο εστιάζοντας περισσότερο στην έννοια του “σοκ”. Το σοκ είναι εκείνο που προκύπτει από τη ρήξη της μητρόπολης με το φυσικό περιβάλλον διαμορφώνοντας ένα νέο πεδίο προς διερεύνηση. Μπορεί κανείς είτε να προσπαθήσει να γιατρέψει το “ψυχικό τραύμα” που παράγεται είτε να το οικειοποιηθεί εξελίσσοντας την αστική συνθήκη. Η δουλεία μας προσπαθεί να πάρει μια κριτική θέση απέναντι στο φαινόμενο εξετάζοντας ουτοπίες που αφορούν μελλοντικά σενάρια κατοίκησης και τις πιθανές επιπτώσεις τους στην καθημερινή ζωή, όπως στην περίπτωση του Room 18». Τόσο το ξενοδοχείο Λειβαθώ που σχεδιάσατε βραβεύτηκε το 2014 όσο και το δωμάτιο ξενοδοχείου με το οποίο συμμετείχατε στο Room 18. Σε όλες σας τις επιλογές φαίνεται να προβληματίζεστε και να δοκιμάζετε ταυτόχρονα τα όρια ιδιωτικού, δημόσιου και υπαίθριου χώρου. Μπορείτε να περιγράψετε πώς εκφράζονται αυτά μέσα από μια σύγχρονη αρχιτεκτονική ματιά; «Τα όρια προκύπτουν από περιορισμούς, τους οποίους μέσα στην καθημερινή πρακτική μας τους θεωρούμε δεδομένους αποφεύγοντας πολλές φορές να πάρουμε μια κριτική θέση απέναντί τους. Η διάκριση ανάμεσα στο μέσα και το έξω, το προσωπικό και το συλλογικό δεν εμφανίζεται πάντοτε με τον ίδιο τρόπο αλλά συνεχώς μεταβάλλεται. Η σύγχρονη αρχιτεκτονική προσπαθεί να παρακολουθήσει ή και να προβλέψει πιθανές τέτοιες μεταβολές». Ποια είναι τα υλικά και οι φόρμες που προτιμάτε; «Στη δουλειά του γραφείου μας η φόρμα και το υλικό αποτελούν εργαλεία και όχι τον τελικό σκοπό. Αρχικά, προσπαθούμε να εντοπίσουμε και να διαμορφώσουμε μια νέα συνθήκη αντίληψης και οικειοποίησης του χώρου και αργότερα αναζητούμε τα εργαλεία που εξυπηρετούν τον παραπάνω σκοπό».

The research you have done is related to the search for “modern urbanity”. How is modern urbanity defined? Can you give some examples? The term urbanity refers to the way of life of the metropolis as it started to be shaped by the movement of populations from the countryside to large urban centers. In this way the mass concentration of people creates a changing code of habits and lifestyle that defines the urban phenomenon focusing more on the concept of “shock”. The shock is a result of the separation of the metropolis from the natural environment, forming a new field to be explored. One can either try to cure the “mental trauma” that is caused or appropriate it by evolving the bourgeois convention. Our work attempts to take a critical view of the phenomenon by looking at utopias about future habits and their possible impact on everyday life, as in Room 18. Livatho Hotel that you built got an award in 2014 as well as the hotel room with which you participated in Room 18. In all your choices, you seem to fret and try to experiment with the limits of private, public, outdoor space at the same time. Can you describe how these are expressed through a contemporary architectural look? A: Limits arise from constraints that we take for granted in our daily practice, often avoiding a critical stance towards them. The distinction between the inside and the outside, the personal and the collective does not always appear in the same way but is constantly changing. Modern architecture is trying to track or even predict such changes What materials and forms do you like to use when you work? A: In the work of our office form and material are tools and not the ultimate goal. Έχει διδάξει αρχιτεκτονικό σχεδιασμό στην Αρχιτεκτονική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Πατρών (2016-2017), εικαστικά και αρχιτεκτονική στο μάθημα «Πλαστική και Σύγχρονα Επικοινωνιακά Μέσα Απεικόνισης του Χώρου» του Προγράμματος Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών της Σχολής Αρχιτεκτόνων ΕΜΠ (2007-2017) και στο πρόγραμμα Μεταπτυχιακών Σπουδών «Μετα-Βιομηχανικός Σχεδιασμός» στην Αρχιτεκτονική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας (2016-2017). Το έργο του έχει παρουσιαστεί και δημοσιευτεί σε εκθέσεις αρχιτεκτονικής και εικαστικών στην Ελλάδα και το εξωτερικό και έχει αποσπάσει διακρίσεις και βραβεία. Leonidas Papalampropoulos studied at the School of Architecture of Athens Polytechnic, Bartlett School of Architecture UCL and has a Ph.D. from of the School of Architecture of Athens Polytechnic. He has taught architectural design at the Architecture School of the University of Patras (2016-2017), visual arts and architecture in the course “Plastic and Modern Communication Media for the Space” of the Postgraduate Studies Program of the School of Architecture of Athens Polytechnic (2007-2017) and the Postgraduate Studies Program “ Post-Industrial Design “at the School of Architecture of the University of Thessaly (2016-2017). His work has been presented and published in exhibitions of architecture and visual arts in Greece and abroad and has received many awards.

Πανευρωπαϊκός Διαγωνισμός Room 18, με θέμα τον σχεδιασμό ενός δωματίου αστικού ξενοδοχείου 18 τ.μ, αριθμούσε 262 συμμετοχές από 17 χώρες και ανέδειξε ως νικητή τον αρχιτέκτονα Λεωνίδα Παπαλαμπρόπουλο. Το έργο του, ένα καταπράσινο δωμάτιο-πάρκο, δημιούργησε έναν αστικό χώρο προσδίδοντάς του αέρα απείρου και εξοχής. Αυτή ακριβώς η έννοια της «σύγχρονης αστικότητας» αποτέλεσε αντικείμενο της έρευνάς του. «Η μαζική συγκέντρωση ανθρώπων διαμορφώνει ένα μεταβαλλόμενο κώδικα συνηθειών και τρόπου ζωής που ορίζει το αστικό φαινόμενο, εστιάζοντας περισσότερο στην έννοια του «σοκ». eodor Currentzis is the artistic director of the State Opera and ballet of Perm and artistic director of the Diaghilev International Film Festival. The year 2017 was a very active year for him and his music department with concerts in Greece in March. The same is planned for 2018 with trips across Europe and concerts in major theaters such as the Vienna Konzerthaus, the Berlin and Paris Philharmonic and the Milan Scala. In 2004 he created the Musica Eterna orchestra and choir, and after a series of important recordings, he is aiming in 2020 for the 9th Symphony of Beethoven on the occasion of the 250th birthday anniversary. ημήτρης Ζέλιος και η σχεδιαστική του ομάδα σε συνεργασία με τον Δήμο Μεσσολογίου σχεδίασαν και κατασκεύασαν κοινοχρηστα αντικείμενα για τις ανάγκες του Δήμου όπως πρωτότυπα παγκάκια, κάδους απορριμάτων και πολύχρωμες βάσεις ποδηλάτων, δίνοντας ευχάριστο τόνο σε κάθε γωνιά της πόλης. Εμπνευσμένα από την ιδιαίτερη ομορφιά του τόπου με κυρίαρχο στοιχείο τη λιμνοθάλασσα και τις παραδόσεις της. Το παγκάκι που στηρίχτηκε στις παραδοσιακές κατοικίες «πελάδες» φαίνεται να έκλεψε τις εντυπώσεις, ενώ επίσης μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον έδειξαν και για το παγκάκι με τον χάρτη του κέντρου της πόλης. Ο επισκέπτης μπορεί να βρει εκτός από το δρόμο και τα σημεία που βρίσκονται τα σημαντικότερα αξιοθέατα του τόπου. Για το τρίτο σχέδιο εμπνεύστηκε από τις μικρές βάρκες των ντόπιων και το βουνό της Βαράσοβας. Επόμενη πρόταση του Δημήτρη Ζέλιου και της σχεδιαστικής του ομάδας ήταν οι κάδοι απορριμάτων, απαραίτητοι σε κάθε δήμο. Σχέδια όπως φλαμίνγκο και διάφορα θαλασσοπούλια που επισκέπτονται κάθε χρόνο τη λιμνοθάλασσα διακόσμησαν τις κατασκευές, καθώς και τα σήματα που χρησιμοποιεί ο δήμος. Η οργάνωση των ποδηλάτων είναι ένα σημαντικό θέμα για την πόλη του Μεσολογγίου καθώς το ποδήλατο είναι το βασικότερο μέσο μεταφοράς για τους πολίτες της. Για τον λόγο αυτό δημιούργησε βάσεις ποδηλάτων όπου μπορούν να τοποθετηθούν σε διάφορα σημεία της πόλης για να χρησιμοποιούνται ελεύθερα από το κοινό. Όλα τα σχέδια είναι κομμένα σε CNC laser και βαμμένα με ηλεκτροστατική βαφή σε πολλά χρώματα και όμορφες γραμμές.

Ο Δημήτρης Ζέλιος και η ομάδα του αποδέχθηκαν την πρόταση του Δήμου Μεσολογγίου για την αναβάθμιση της εικόνας της πόλης σχεδιάζοντας παγκάκια, κάδους απορριμμάτων και βάσεις για στάθμευση ποδηλάτων | Dimitris Zelios and his team accepted the proposal of the Municipality of Messolongi for the upgrading of the city’s image by designing benches, garbage bins and bicycle parking facilities Παγκάκι VarasoVa

imitris Zelios and his design team, in collaboration with the Municipality of Messolongi, designed and built various communal items for the needs of the Municipality such as benches with originality, waste bins and colorful bicycle parking bases, adding a pleasant tone to every corner of the city. they were inspired by the special beauty of the place whose dominant feature is the lagoon and its traditions. the bench that was based on the traditional residences “pelades” seems to have attracted a lot of attention, and great interest was shown in the bench with the map of the city center. the visitor can find, besides the roads and streets, the places that are the most important sights of the place. For the third project, he was inspired by the small boats of the locals and the mountain of Varassovas. the next proposal of Dimitris Zelios and his design team was the waste bins, indispensable in each municipality. Drawings such as flamingos and various seabirds that visit the lagoon every year adorn them as well as the coat of arms of the municipality. Bicycle organization is an important issue for the city of Messolongi, as cycling is the most important means of transport for its citizens. For this reason, bicycle parking bases were made which can be placed in various parts of the city and used freely by the public. all designs are cut with CNC laser and painted with electrostatic paint in many colors and beautiful lines. 52

α διαμερίσματα της πόλης έχουν, στην πλειονότητα τους, μια παρόμοια διαρρύθμιση που αναπτύσσεται και εναλλάσσεται συνήθως ανάλογα με τα διαθέσιμα τετραγωνικά. Μια συνθήκη που μπορεί να ανατραπεί όταν ιδιοκτήτες και αρχιτέκτονες τολμήσουν να διαφοροποιηθούν διατηρώντας παράλληλα τις αρχές της λειτουργικότητας αλλά και της αρχιτεκτονικής ευρηματικότητας. Μια συγκυρία που επετεύχθη στον ανασχεδιασμό του συγκεκριμένου διαμερίσμα,τος των 80τ.μ, στη Θεσσαλονίκη. Σε ένα τυπικό διαμέρισμα, το καθιστικό βρίσκεται στη μπροστινή όψη που αντικρίζει το δρόμο ενώ τα υπνοδωμάτια βρίσκονται στο πίσω μέρος με την κουζίνα και το μπάνιο να τοποθετούνται στο κέντρο. Το αρχιτεκτονικό γραφείο Urban Soul Project προχώρησε στην αναδιάταξη της τυπολογίας αυτής αντιπροτείνοντας έναν ιδιαίτερο σχεδιασμό όπου ο χρήστης μπορεί να φιλοξενήσει μέχρι τέσσερα άτομα, σε χώρους οι οποίοι έχουν τη δυνατότητα να προσφέρουν προσωρινή ιδιωτικότητα ενώ σε μόνιμη βάση έχουν λιγότερο αυστηρά όρια. Στη θέση του αρχικού, μπροστινού καθιστικού διαμορφώθηκε ένα master bedroom, με walk-in closet και en-suite μπάνιο με την πρόσοψη του προς το κρεβάτι και το μπαλκόνι. Αντίστοιχα, οι χώροι που φιλοξενούσαν τα δυο υπνοδωμάτια ενώθηκαν δημιουργώντας έναν ενιαίο χώρο που φιλοξενεί πλέον το καθιστικό

και την κουζίνα. Κατά μήκος του μακρύ διαδρόμου, έχουν ενταχθεί βοηθητικοί χώροι - όπως reading room και guest bedroom - και κατασκευές για πρακτικές χρήσεις. Τα όρια όλων αυτών των χώρων είναι κατασκευασμένα από διαφανές ή ημιδιαφανές γυαλί, προσφέροντας στους χρήστες ιδιωτικότητα ή εξωστρέφεια, ανάλογα με την περίσταση. Ο συνδυασμός των υλικών - με πρωταγωνιστή το ξύλο -, της μπλε απόχρωσης αλλά και των κάθετων γραμμών και των καμπυλών συνθέτουν ένα σκηνικό που παραπέμπει σε πολυτελές σκάφος χωρίς όμως να απουσιάζει η σπιτική ζεστασιά. Το Boat Apartment - όπως το ονομάζουν οι αρχιτέκτονες - «σαλπάρει» για ένα νέο αστικού χαρακτήρα σχεδιασμό με μεγαλύτερη ευελιξία και ιδιαίτερη αισθητική με στοιχεία λιτά και διακριτικά πολυτελή.

A juncture has been achieved in this particular apartment of 80m in Thessaloniki. in a typical apartment, the living room is on the front facing the street while the bedrooms are located on the back with the kitchen and bathroom placed in the center. The Urban Soul Project architectural office has reorganized its typology by designing a special design where the user can accommodate up to four additional people in places that can offer temporary privacy while on permanent basis they have less strict limits. in place of the original, front sitting room a master bedroom was created with a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom with its facade facing the bed and the balcony. in a similar manner, the spaces that housed the two bedrooms were joined together creating a single space that now houses the living room and the kitchen. Along the long corridor, auxiliary rooms - such as the reading room and guest bedroom - and constructions for practical uses are included. The boundaries of all these spaces are made of transparent or translucent glass,

offering users privacy or extroversion, depending on the situation. The combination of the materials - wood being the most prominent - the blue tint, the vertical lines and the curves, create a scenery reminiscent of a luxurious boat without the home warmth being absent. αρχιτεκτονική ομάδα Normless Architecture Studio, δημιούργησε ένα σκανδιναβικού τύπου διαμέρισμα τριών δωματίων, λίγο έξω από το κέντρο των Τρικάλων, για μία νέα οικογένεια. Στόχος των αρχιτεκτόνων ήταν η δημιουργία ενός ανοιχτού, ενιαίου χώρου - με την κουζίνα, την τραπεζαρία και το καθιστικό - το οποίο οριοθετείται από ένα συνεχόμενο κούφωμα έξι μέτρων, ενοποιώντας το διαμέρισμα με τον ιδιωτικό κήπο της πίσω αυλής. Η οροφή του καθιστικού και της τραπεζαρίας καλύφθηκε με εμφανή ξύλινη στέγη σε φυσικό χρώμα, προκειμένου να υπάρχει όσο το δυνατόν καλύτερη διάχυση του φυσικού φωτός. Η χτιστή σύνθεση του ενεργειακού τζακιού επεκτάθηκε γραμμικά ώστε να δημιουργηθούν ράφια αποθήκευσης και εναλλακτικά καθίσματα κατά μήκος του καθιστικού. Η επένδυση των τοίχων έγινε με φυσικό κονίαμα Kourasanit σε σκούρες αποχρώσεις συμπληρώνοντας τα ανοιχτόχρωμα έπιπλα. Τα γεωμετρικά τραπεζάκια και τα φωτιστικά του καθιστικού είναι custom-made χειροποίητες κατασκευές από μαύρο μεταλλικό σκελετό. Σε οπτική επικοινωνία με την τραπεζαρία, μέσω ενός μεταλλικού παραθύρου, βρίσκεται η κουζίνα. Μια κατασκευή από νέας τεχνολογίας επεξεργασμένο γυαλί, μέταλλο και ξύλο δημιουργεί ένα καθαρό και κομψό χώρο ως συνέχεια του φαρδύ διάδρομου της εισόδου, ο οποίος 64

Scandinavian influenced three-bedroom apartment is located just outside the city of Trikala. This 150m² unit features an open plan kitchen, dining and living room area with a back garden, owned by a young couple. The architects’ plan was to extend the original flat by removing the front wall and replacing it with a 6m wide window, opening a full view to the private garden and allowing natural light to travel across the rooms. The extra square meters were covered with an open wooden roof, above the dining and living room space. An energy efficient fireplace was built and the wall next to it was extended to create storage shelves and seating spots following a linear design line. The walls were covered with Kourasanit natural filler as a dark background complementing the light colored furniture. The geometric coffee tables are custom designed and handmade metal frames using black and white tiles as a top layer. Visuallyconnected with the dining area through a black-framed glass window is the kitchen. A new technology of refined glass, handmade metal frames and solid wood cupboard doors create a clean and elegant space. Behind the kitchen table are the concealed storage cabinets and white bricks with a stencil clock on it, decorate the adjacent wall.

Τέλος, οι λευκοί τοίχοι και το ζεστό χρώμα του μασίφ ξύλινου δαπέδου το οποίο καλύπτει το σύνολο της κατοικίας, επικρατούν χρωματικά ενώ την παλέτα συμπληρώνουν οι παστέλ τόνοι των επίπλων. Στο παιδικό υπνοδωμάτιο, μία σύνθεση με λευκά, ροζ και ξύλινα ράφια, σε σχήμα σπιτιού, διακοσμούν τον έναν από τους τοίχους ενώ οι άλλοι δύο είναι ζωγραφισμένοι στο χέρι από γνωστό έλληνα εικαστικό, δημιουργώντας το κατάλληλο περιβάλλον για τον νέο χρήστη του δωματίου. Στο κοινόχρηστο μπάνιο χρησιμοποιήθηκαν ορθογώνια πλακάκια σε διάφορες αποχρώσεις, ξύλινα έπιπλα και ένα μεταλλικό frame με κρυφό led φωτισμό. Το υπνοδωμάτιο ακολουθεί τις απλές σχεδιαστικές γραμμές του υπόλοιπου σπιτιού, με ένα χτιστό κεφαλάρι επενδεδυμένο με κονίαμα Kourasanit όπου πάνω του κρέμονται χειροποίητα custommade φωτιστικά, ενώ μια μεταλλική συρόμενη πόρτα οδηγεί στο ιδιωτικό μπάνιο με τον χτιστό τσιμεντένιο νιπτήρα. Μια κατοικία που καταφέρνει να εκπέμπει θαλπωρή μέσα από έναν εκλεπτυσμένο μινιμαλισμό.

The wide hallway hosts a working desk along with an oblong bookcase and a fitted wardrobe. A composition of pink, white and wooden house-shaped shelves cover the right wall on the kid’s bedroom, while the other two walls are hand painted from a Greek artist to achievea playful look, suitable for the young resident of this room. The guest bathroom features white, grey and green herringbone tiles, wooden furnishings and a black metal frame window with hidden LED lighting is used instead of a common wall. The master bedroom follows the simple lines of the rest of the flat. Kourasanit filler coating is used. A shorter wall is built behind the king size bed to act as a headboard, where custom designed pendant lights are hanged on each side. A metal sliding door leads to the en suite bathroom where instead ofa typical porcelain fixture we find an elongated handmade cement basin. White walls and warm timber floors feature throughout the space while pink and mint pastel colors are introduced throughcoffee tables, dining chairs and furniture details. 66

ο «Άξιον εστί», στους πρόποδες του Πηλίου, είναι ένα στιβαρό πέτρινο συγκρότημα που αναπτύσσεται σε τρεις ξεχωριστούς πυρήνες - εκπαίδευση, ψυχαγωγία και φιλοξενία - καθώς και σε έναν υπαίθριο χώρο. Η διαμόρφωση του εξωτερικού χώρου στοχεύει στην εκπαίδευση μέσα από την επαφή με τη φυσική βιοποικιλότητα και περιλαμβάνει το «μονοπάτι ρεφλεξολογίας» - που συνδέει τα διάφορα «γεγονότα-παιχνίδια», όπως βοτανόκηπους και τοίχους αναρρίχησης -, και την «ατέρμονη πορεία του νερού» που ζωντανεύει τα φυσικά φαινόμενα και μετατρέπει το προαύλιο σε ένα ανοιχτό εργαστήριο. κομβικό σημείο αποτελεί το υπαίθριο αμφιθέατρο με φόντο την πόλη του Βόλου και τον Παγασητικό κόλπο. he «Axion esti» education complex, at the foot of Mount Pelion, is a rugged stone complex that consists of three separate cores - education, entertainment and hospitality - as well as the open air area. the design of the outdoors area aims at education through contact with natural biodiversity and includes the «Reflexology path» - linking various «game events» such as botanical gardens and climbing walls - and the «endless water course» that animates natural phenomena and turns the courtyard into an open-air workshop. the focal point is the openair amphitheater on the background of the city of volos and the Gulf of Pagasitikos. With sensitivity and love for the natural environment, water-permeable materials were used in the majority of outdoor configurations and rainwater collection was provided in a reservoir for use in the watering and the toilets. the classrooms function in a multidimensional way with the free placement of student and teacher’s seats and the work-benches and shelves in the perimeter. the multi-dynamic physics-chemistry-cookery classroom has

a secure experiments area, the open library and art gallery enhance the relationship with the book and the artistic creation, which also continues in the dance and music classrooms. inside, there are elements that stimulate the children’s imagination: hiding places, secret passages, dark galleries, vaults, arches, and a pool in the «dark underground». Halls with all modern technological equipment for thermal, visual and acoustic utilities ensure the alternative coexistence and the grouping of students.

Who is who o αρχιτέκτων - μηχανικός Δημήτρης Φιλιππιτζής αποφοίτησε από το Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο και ολοκλήρωσε το Μεταπτυχιακό του στον αστικό σχεδιασμό στο τορόντο.To 1985 εγκαταστάθηκε στον Βόλο και επικεντρώθηκε στη μελέτη και στην επίβλεψη ιδιωτικών έργων ενώ με το γραφείο «σύνθεση ο.ε.» ανέλαβε και δημόσια έργα, με χαρακτηριστικά το τμήμα αρχιτεκτόνων και την κεντρική Βιβλιοθήκη του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας. από το 2000 διδάσκει στο τμήμα αρχιτεκτόνων Μηχανικών του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας και συνεχίζει να αρχιτεκτονεί για μια περισσότερο ανθρωποκεντρική πόλη αντιμετωπίζοντας την αρχιτεκτονική σαν χώρο κοινωνικής δράσης. | Architect-engineer Dimitris Filippitziz graduated from the Technical University of Athens and completed his Master’s Degree in Urban Design in Toronto. In 1985 he settled in volos, focusing on the study and supervision of private projects, while with the «Synthesis G.P» office he undertook public works, such as the Department of Architecture and the Central Library of the University of Thessaly. Χαρακτηριστικό στοιχείο η στέγη σε σχήμα Υ - από όπου προήλθε και η ονομασία Ypsilon Villa - η οποία λειτουργεί ως προσβάσιμη προέκταση του εδάφους, με οπτική επαφή εσωτερικού χώρου και τοπίου. Παράλληλα, οι τρεις αυτές διακλαδώσεις - διαδρομές ορίζουν και ισάριθμες αυλές η σκιά στις οποίες εναλλάσσεται ανάλογα με τις θέσεις του ήλιου. Τα 150 τ.μ της εσωτερικής επιφάνειας οργανώνονται σε δύο βασικά μέρη, με μια μεγάλη βιβλιοθήκη να λειτουργεί ως χρηστικό διαχωριστικό. The roof’s bifurcating pathways define three courtyards that form distinct hemispheres with specific occupancy depending on the course of the sun. ΗΟΜΕ The interior spaces are organized in two main parts: A more private area containing three bedrooms and two bathrooms with views towards the east and a more common area towards the south containing the kitchen area and the living room which provide continuous access to all three courtyards. The circulation through, around and on top of the house forms a continuous promenade comprising indoor and outdoor activities. The form of the concrete shell coupled with the planted roof and cross ventilation strategy provides an environmental response which prevents the need for mechanical cooling systems. The remote location of the project in combination with the limited budget and non-standard geometry induced a construction strategy that called for a large amount of off-site prefabrication and self-assembly which allowed to reduce the construction time to 7 months without compromising anything in terms of quality or exceeding the budget. “We decided to buy a CNC machine that allowed for extensive prototyping and the production of non-standard elements. This included the concrete shell formwork, the livingroom lost formwork/acoustic ceiling, custom window frames, interior furniture and partition systems as well as landscape and pool formers.” Theo Sarantoglou Lalis This ‘hands-on’ approach allowed for a minimal use of commercial ‘off-the-shelf’ products while instead favoring locally sourced materials such as concrete, terrazzo and marble.

Η γεωμετρία του τσιμεντένιου κελύφους, η φυτεμένη οροφή και ο διασταυρούμενος αερισμός συνιστούν έναν βιοκλιματικό αρχιτεκτονικό σχεδιασμό που δεν απαιτεί μηχανική ψύξη. Επίσης, η καμπυλόγραμμη ξύλινη οροφή στο καθιστικό δεν ενσωματώνει απλά τον φωτισμό αλλά παρέχει και ηχομόνωση ενώ τα σταθερά παράθυρα - που θυμίζουν φινιστρίνια - εξασφαλίζουν φυσικό αερισμό και ατμοσφαιρικό φωτισμό. Η απομακρυσμένη τοποθεσία του έργου σε συνδυασμό με τον περιορισμένο προϋπολογισμό και το μη συμβατικό σχέδιο δημιούργησε την ανάγκη να προκατασκευαστεί και να συναρμολογηθεί εκτός του εργοταξίου ένας μεγάλος όγκος στοιχείων. Μια διαδικασία που μείωσε τον χρόνο παράδοσης του έργου σε 7 μήνες, χωρίς να επηρεαστεί το επίπεδο κατασκευαστικής ποιότητας. Επίσης, η τεχνολογία έπαιξε σημαντικό ρόλο με τη φόρμα του κτιρίου να έχει σχεδιαστεί σε 3D πρόγραμμα διαμορφώνοντας τον ξυλότυπο της οροφής, της πισίνας και των αυλών. «Χρησιμοποιήσαμε μια μηχανή CNC που επέτρεψε την παραγωγή εκτεταμένων πρωτότυπων, μη τυποποιημένων στοιχείων με ακρίβεια και οικονομία» προσθέτει ο αρχιτέκτων Theo Sarantoglou Lalis. Στη Villa Ypsilon, η «πράσινη» αρχιτεκτονική μοιάζει να ανοίγει νέες διόδους συνεργασίας με το φουτουριστικό ντιζάιν και από κοινού να παρέχουν μια κατοικία φιλική προς το περιβάλλον και τον χρήστη.

he iconic hotel Makedonia Palace was recently renovated through the REMAKE project - the largest in the history of the hotel and one of the largest investments in the tourism sector. The changes that took place in the historic building of Thessaloniki transformed it into a real gem, a refurbished hotel with a multifaceted character. The combination of simple luxury with a contemporary and simultaneously timeless design, are the dominant components of the radical refurbishing. Μέσα από την αναβάθμιση της λειτουργικής και αισθητικής οργάνωσης των χώρων του και την πλήρη ανακατασκευή όλων των δωματίων επιτεύχθηκε ο κύριος στόχος του εκσυγχρονισμού του ξενοδοχείου. Το Μακεδονία Παλλάς στην πραγματικότητα επαναπροσδιορίζει την πολυτέλεια χάρη στην μοναδική τοποθεσία του που προσφέρει ηρεμία ή ζωντάνια μέσα από τα δωμάτια και τις σουίτες που «βλέπουν» τη θάλασσα ή την πόλη αντίστοιχα. Ιδιαίτερη έμφαση δόθηκε στην ενίσχυση του συνεδριακού και κοινωνικού χαρακτήρα του ξενοδοχείου ώστε να παρέχεται δυνατότητα φιλοξενίας μεγάλων εκδηλώσεων. Έτσι, δημιουργήθηκαν ένα λειτουργικό συνεδριακό κέντρο 2.000 τ.μ. και ένα ballroom 900 τ.μ. - και τα δυο με εξοπλισμό υψηλής τεχνολογίας και υλικά υψηλής ποιότητας. Ωστόσο, η πιο σημαντική αισθητική αλλαγή πραγματοποιήθηκε στη ρεσεψιόν, η οποία κατέχει πλέον κυρίαρχη θέση στον χώρο του λόμπυ. Παράλληλα, το κεντρικό εστιατόριο - μπαρ έχει μετακινηθεί προς το παραλιακό μέτωπο - η ανάπλαση του οποίου είναι πολυβραβευμένη - με αποτέλεσμα να δημιουργηθεί ένας νέος χώρος με εκπληκτική θέα προς τη θάλασσα και τον Λευκό Πύργο. This is the suggestion of the people of Mr. & Mrs White’s hotel in Naoussa, inn Paros, and their offer is this hospitable, with sophisticated aesthetic and substantial luxury space. A hotel complex built in 1980 that was completely renovated by Dimitris Tzitsos’s architectural office with a modern design creatively and balances with the traditional Cycladic elements, thus bringing the visitor to an intimate and yet distinct landscape. Για τον ανασχεδιασμό του συνεργάστηκαν με τον διακεκριμένο σχεδιαστή και σκηνοθέτη Αντώνη Καλογρίδη, ο οποίος έδωσε έμφαση σε έναν ρομαντισμό που πηγάζει μέσα από την προσέγγιση που φέρνει την τέχνη, τον μινιμαλισμό, τις απρόσμενες φόρμες και την προηγμένη τεχνολογία στο προσκήνιο, σε μια συνύπαρξη με απόλυτη ισορροπία. «Οδηγός μου» μας είπε ο σκηνοθέτης, «στάθηκε ο ήλιος, ο ουρανός, η θάλασσα, η άγρια ομορφιά της Ίου, με τους γκρεμούς και τους βράχους, με το πέτρωμα του γρανίτη να κυριαρχεί ανάμεσα στη χαμηλή βλάστηση - τη ρίγανη, το φασκόμηλο, το θυμάρι, το φλισκούνι. κοινόχρηστους χώρους. Να μεταφέρω αυτόν τον συνδυασμό των αισθήσεων από τον αδόμητο χώρο στον δομημένο. Η αφαιρετική διάσταση σε αυτό το άγονο κυκλαδονήσι με τους λίγους κατοίκους με οδήγησε στη μινιμαλιστική επιλογή της εσωτερικής διακόσμησης. Αντιμετώπισα τον χώρο - καταλύματα, δωμάτια και σουίτες - ως δοχεία ζωής στα οποία η πολυτέλεια εκφράζεται μέσα από τα στοιχειώδη και απαραίτητα στην υψηλότερη αισθητική και υλική τους απόδοση. “Τράβηξα” μέσα στα δωμάτια τα χρώματα και τα σχήματα, που από τα παράθυρά τους, έβλεπα να κυριαρχούν στο εξωτερικό περιβάλλον. Θέλησα να εντείνω αυτήν την ιδιαίτερη αίσθηση, άχρονη και υπέρχρονη, που βιώνει κανείς στην Ίο. Έστρεψα το βλέμμα των ανθρώπων προς τα έξω, στις εικόνες και τις αποχρώσεις της ημέρας και της νύχτας. Επέλεξα το λευκό ως

ικρή, περνούσα τις καλοκαιρινές μου διακοπές στο Porto Capis, ένα ξενοδοχείο στη Χαλκιδική περιτριγυρισμένο από πεύκα και ελιές και κρυστάλλινα νερά. Όταν, χρόνια αργότερα, είδα στο μέρος αυτό να έχουν μείνει μόνο ερείπια, ήξερα ότι έπρεπε να κάνω κάτι γι ‘αυτό. Μίλησα με τον πατέρα μου και αποφασίσαμε να αγοράσουμε το παλιό κτίριο. Εκείνος ήθελε να καθαρίσει τον χώρο και να τον αφήσει όπως ήταν - ένα απλό ξενοδοχείο. Ωστόσο, εγώ είχα στο μυαλό μου ένα άλλο σχέδιο...». Αυτή είναι η σύντομη περιγραφή της Αλεξάνδρας Ευσταθιάδου για την αφετηρία του Ekies All Senses Resort, στη Βουρβουρού της Χαλκιδικής. Ένα ξενοδοχείο που σέβεται το φυσικό περιβάλλον, βασίζει τον σχεδιασμό και την αισθητική του σε αυτό και συσχετίζει κάθε χώρο με αυτό. Σε αυτό το πλαίσιο πραγματοποιήθηκε και ο επανασχεδιασμός μιας υπάρχουσας ημιυπόγειας πτέρυγας, βοηθητικών χρήσεων, ώστε να ενταχθεί στο δυναμικό του ξενοδοχείου με τη μελέτη δημιουργίας 10 δωματίων connect-suites με οικολογικό χαρακτήρα και άμεση σύνδεση με το τοπίο.

ΗΟΜΕ Κάθε «υπόσκαφος» εσωτερικός χώρος εξελίσσεται προς τα έξω, μέσω διάτρητων μεταβλητών ορίων, σε ιδιωτικό φιλτραρισμένο υπαίθριο χώρο με πισίνα, άμμο και καθιστικά διευρύνοντας τον ιδιωτικό ζωτικό χώρο κάθε δωματίου με καδραρισμένη θέα προς την πλούσια βλάστηση. Οι ημιυπαίθριοι και υπαίθριοι χώροι προέκυψαν μέσα από την αναδιαμόρφωση της εξωτερικής στάθμης και την ανάπλαση των προσβάσεων και των επιπέδων με όλο τον περιβάλλοντα χώρο να επανασχεδιάζεται και να αξιοποιεί το ευνοϊκό νότιο-ανατολικό προσανατολισμό και το πυκνό πευκοδάσος προς το οποίο έχει μέτωπο η πτέρυγα. Η εφαρμογή φυσικών και αδρών υλικών συνέβαλε σημαντικά ώστε ο χρήστης να βιώνει την εγγύτητα με το φυσικό περιβάλλον. garch+ architects were commissioned to design the addition of 10 new eco-luxury suites at Ekies All Senses Resort in Vourvourou, Chalkidiki. The construction began in January 2015 and the whole complex was completely renovated in July 2016. The main purpose of the study was to redesign an existing wing with storage rooms and transform them into a new group of suites for the hotel. Our goal was to create functional spaces for long-term accommodation and all-day hosting during summer time. The initial idea was based on creating a branch of suites that integrates with the landscape, adhering to the eco-barefoot philosophy of the hotel that lies between Mount Itamos and the beach of Vourvourou. The design was orientated towards a sustainable concept incorporating the surrounding woodland to provide a holistic approach for the guests. In order to increase the private living area of the suites and establish a dialogue with the landscape, outdoor private and semi-private spaces that link the open-plan living rooms to the forest and the artificial

Φυσικές βαφές (ασβεστοχρώματα), τσιμεντοκονία, δρύινες επιφάνειες και εμφανές μπετόν χωρίς επεξεργασία διατηρούν στην πορεία του χρόνου μια φυσική πατίνα, διασφαλίζοντας έτσι και το μικρό κόστος συντήρησης. Μαύρη λαμαρίνα και χαλκός με φυσικό βερνίκι - ως αναφορά στα μεταλλεία της περιοχής - χρησιμοποιήθηκαν για τα τελειώματα και τις λεπτές κατασκευές-όρια των χώρων. Ημιδιαφανή

φίλτρα (κουρτίνες, τζάμια αμμοβολή, καλάμια) λειτουργούν ως ελαφρά όρια προσφέροντας ιδιωτικότητα χωρίς να εμποδίζουν το φυσικό φως. Οι περιμετρικές διαμορφώσεις και φυτεύσεις σε συνέχεια με το φυσικό πράσινο καθώς και η ένταξη των δέντρων ολοκληρώνουν την τελική αίσθηση «συνομιλίας» του χρήστη με το τοπίο. Ένας αρχιτεκτονικός σχεδιασμός που δίνει στην παρότρυνση «επιστροφή στη φύση» ένα νέο υπόβαθρο.

Custom-made furniture and fittings were designed for each suite according to functional needs, following, though, the standardized form that could adjust to each room with a focus on sustainable production

SCAPING & OUTDOOR SPACES landscape were created. The private part of the suites, including the walk-in closet and bathrooms, is located indoors, while the views gradually open to the scenery through large extruded framed windows or semi-covered patios that concoct a beach atmosphere with hammocks, sand and plunge pools. The outdoor transitional spaces enlarge guests’ private space and encourage them to interact with the landscape throughout the day. The use of natural materials was proposed so that the suites would blend seamlessly with the environment and age naturally without maintenance costs. Textures prominent in the local tradition such as herringbone, pebbled floors, mosaic motifs, natural paints and raw metals were used. Semi-transparent filters, curtains, bamboo pergolas and glass doors let the light in and define the borders while at the same time they provide privacy when the users need it. Surrounding green areas were defined by discreet raw metal details while the elaborated plant pallet referred to the natural environment of the area. The reinterpreted implementations of the above traditional practices enhance guests’ experience and add to the interconnection with the natural landscape and the local context. Lighting design aimed at accenting textures’ matiere. Linear led fixtures create indirect lighting underlying the borders in the interior part of the suite while glass and raw lights add to the atmosphere. ξενοδοχειακός εξοπλισμός είναι ένα ιδιαίτερο project που απαιτεί μια προσέγγιση υψηλής αισθητικής που θα προκύπτει μέσα από έναν λειτουργικό και άνετο σχεδιασμό αλλά και μια ανθεκτική κατασκευή. Με λίγα χρόνια, απαιτείται μια υπογραφή που θα εξασφαλίζει ποιότητα, συνέπεια και ιδιαίτερο στυλ - την υπογραφή της εταιρείας Casa Due Καπουσούζης. T Materials such as wood and metal painted elements create the appropriate atmosphere. πραγματοποιήθηκε σε ενιαίο κομμάτι το οποίο διαχωρίζεται διακοσμητικά ώστε να προκύπτει μια ενδιαφέρουσα οπτική και λειτουργική εναλλαγή χωρίς αυστηρά όρια και αποκλεισμό των παρευρισκομένων. Έτσι, με τα διαφορετικού στυλ έπιπλα και φωτιστικά διαμορφώνονται ένα καθιστικό για φαγητό, ένα άλλο για όρθιους, πιο νεαρούς θαμώνες και ένα ακόμη που παραπέμπει σε bistro και μπορεί κανείς να απολαύσει τον καφέ και το γλυκό του. Κυρίαρχα στοιχεία στην όλη σύνθεση αποτελούν το μεγάλο μπαρ στο οποίο έχουν προστεθεί μόνιμα, σταθερά σκαμπό αλλά και οι ειδικές κατασκευές από μέταλλο και ξύλο που παίρνουν διαφορετικές μορφές σε όλο τον χώρο. Στη μελέτη του φωτισμού δόθηκε ιδιαίτερη προσοχή ώστε να τηρηθεί το ενδιαφέρον στοιχείο της εναλλαγής. Τα φωτιστικά που επιλέχθηκαν αλλά και η τοποθέτηση τους εξασφαλίζουν διαφορετικό φωτισμό κατά τη διάρκεια της ημέρας και της νύχτας. Την έμμεση φωτεινότητα της στον χώρο χαρίζει και η λαμπερή κίτρινη απόχρωση σε καρέκλες και φωτιστικά. Denkfabric σημαίνει «δεξαμενή σκέψης». Μια ταιριαστή επιλογή για την ονομασία ενός μαγαζιού όπου το φαγητό και το ποτό - βασικοί παράγοντες έμπνευσης - συμπρωταγωνιστούν με μια ζεστή και ευχάριστη ατμόσφαιρα - ιδανική για την απόδραση του μυαλού από τα περιττά και τη συγκέντρωση στα ουσιώδη. 136 ελληνικόσπίτι | mustdesign

he second bar-restaurant of the Denk Fabrik chain, in Karlsruhe, was once again designed by the Gruppo Decorativo architectural studio, with different decorative and structural elements. “This time, the challenge was to come up with a proposal that would suit a wide range of ages and requirements as this all-day restaurant is in a multi-member sports club. The design was restructured, “upgraded” compared to the first Denk Fabrik as the available square metres were in this case more “, comments interior designer Dimitris Hadjichristos. The development of the site took place in a single area which is decoratively separated in order to produce an interesting visual and functional alternation without strict limits and exclusion of those present. Thus, with the different styles of furniture and lighting, a living room is created for food, another for younger clients who prefer to stand and one that looks like a bistro where one can have coffee and cakes. Dominant element in the overall composition is the large bar where they are permanently added, fixed stools and specific structures of metal and wood that take different forms throughout the whole area. In the search for appropriate lighting, particular attention was paid to the observation of the interesting element of alternation. The luminaires chosen as well as their fittings ensure different illumination during the day and night. Its indirect brightness in the room is also provided by the bright yellow color in chairs and lamps. Denk fabric means “think tank”. An appropriate choice for naming a place where food and drink - key inspirational factors - co-exist in a warm and pleasant atmosphere - ideal for taking the mind away from unnecessary things and concentrating on the essential.

ο αρχιτεκτονικό γραφείο τoυ Αθανάσιου Κυρατσού επιμελήθηκε την πλήρη ανακαίνιση του εστιατορίου Principote στην παραλία του Πάνορμου, στην Μύκονο. Η μποέμ πολυτέλεια, η ανεπιτήδευτη γοητεία και ο τυχαίος σνομπισμός που χαρακτήριζαν την προκάτοχη κατάσταση, λειτούργησε καταλυτικά στην ανάμνηση και τη συνέχεια του χώρου με κυρίαρχο όμως στόχο την αναβίωση του ελληνικού κυκλαδίτικου πνεύματος μέσα από μια πολυεθνική κομψότητα και μια τάση εκσυγχρονισμού, που άλλωστε χαρακτηρίζουν το συγκεκριμένο νησί. Σκοπός των αρχιτεκτόνων ήταν η διατήρηση του φυσικού κάλους και των οικολογικών απαιτήσεων του τόπου σε συνδυασμό με την επιμελημένη και προσαρμοσμένη σε αυτόν αισθητική. Η οικολογικής συνείδησης, μελέτη διατήρησε στο ακέραιο τον υδροβιότοπο, την παραλία και τα βράχια ενώ προέβλεπε απλές τεχνικές επεμβάσεις με στόχο το δέσιμο και την ομοιομορφία των παλιών και νέων, φυσικών, σχεδόν ακατέργαστων υλικών όπως το ξύλο, τα βότσαλα και τα σχοινιά. Οι εσωτερικοί χώροι είναι περιορισμένοι και έτσι σε μια μεγάλη έκταση εξωτερικών χώρων διαφορετικών χρήσεων και απαιτήσεων έπρεπε να αντιμετωπιστούν τα φυσικά φαινόμενα του κλίματος των Κυκλάδων με τις έντονες ηλιοφάνειες και τους δυνατούς ανέμους. Με απλά μέσα και υλικά καλύφθηκαν οι διαφορετικές ανάγκες σκίασης για κάθε σημείο του χώρου και κάθε ώρα της ημέρας ώστε να δημιουργούνται κατάλληλες συνθήκες θερμικής άνεσης και παράλληλα να εξασφαλίζεται η εσωτερική κυκλοφορία του δροσερού αέρα χωρίς να δημιουργούνται δίνες. Δόθηκε επίσης προτεραιότητα στον σχεδιασμό και στη διατήρηση της οπτικής άνεσης από οποιοδήποτε σημείο. Η όλη κατασκευαστική φιλοσοφία του

The boheme style luxury, the unpretentious charm and the random snobbery that characterized it previously, functioned catalytically in the past and the future of this place, but with the main aim of reviving the Greek Cycladic spirit through a multinational elegance and a trend of modernization, characteristic of this island. The aim of the architects was to preserve the natural beauty and the ecological requirements of the place in combination with the elaborate and customized aesthetics, the coexistence of the project with the environment and the local climate and the exploitation of the facilities by taking advantage of the benefits of this relationship. The ecological awareness of this project kept untouched the wetland, the beach and rocks while introducing simple technical interventions aimed at the bonding and uniformity of old and new, natural, almost raw materials - such as wood, pebbles and ropes. The interior spaces are limited and so in a large area of outdoor spaces of different uses and requirements, the natural phenomena of the climate of the Cyclades with the intense sunshine and the strong winds had to be addressed. hree years ago, ioannis Solomozis took the initiative to combine his parents’ heritage: his mother had a fabric store and his father a car repair shop. How would you characterize Solo? “The objects we design express by themselves what we are, our philosophy. Our design focuses on subversive constructions and motifs and we are very pleased that all this creative process takes place entirely in our unit, having thus overall control of quality and aesthetics. “ Is creativity consistent with practicality? “The truth is that many see usability and design as distinct concepts. For us there are no such dividing lines. I believe that this is ensured by our great productive capabilities that can ultimately support all our inspirations and ideas. “ Is this something that makes you different? “Quite so, but also that we live to create, our own creative, design and manufacturing experience gives us feedback. Στον αστικό ιστό της Άρτας, τέθηκαν ορισμένες προκλήσεις για τη δημιουργία ενός κλαμπ, οι οποίες απαντήθηκαν με έναν έξυπνο και ευφάνταστο σχεδιασμό | In a central location of Arta, the challenges of designing a modern club were met through intelligent and imaginative design

ασικά στοιχεία του concept υπήρξαν η σωστή διαχείριση του φωτισμού, καθώς αποτελεί ενεργό στοιχείο στη διαμόρφωση της ατμόσφαιρας τέτοιων χώρων, όπως και η δημιουργία επιπέδων για τη λειτουργική οργάνωση του μακρόστενου χώρου και την επίτευξη οπτικής επαφής από οποιοδήποτε σημείο του. Η μακρόστενη κάτοψη του μαγαζιού αναδείχτηκε από την ιδιαίτερη σύνθεση της οροφής, από κυλινδρικά φωτιστικά στο χρώμα του χαλκού, η οποία και συνδέει τις δύο στενές πλευρές του χώρου δημιουργώντας ταυτόχρονα δύο πόλους στα άκρα τους: Ο ένας αναλαμβάνει τη λειτουργία της μουσικής και τον χώρο του dj ενώ ο άλλος τον χώρο των prive τραπεζιών. Τα δύο σημεία υπερυψωμένα από τον υπόλοιπο χώρο αποκτούν τη δική τους σχεδιαστική προσέγγιση.

he main design concept principles were appropriate lighting, which is vital for creating the right atmosphere in such places, as well as the construction of different levels for achieving not only the best possible functionality of the long and narrow space, but also a good visual contact from any point within it. It was chosen to emphasize the club’s elongated floor plan by a special composition of cylindrical, metal lights in copper colour which were placed on the ceiling. This composition links the club’s two narrow sides, thus simultaneously creating two ‘poles’ at its edges, which are raised from the central space creating two platforms. The first is dedicated to the DJ, while the second is used as a small lounge area and either has its own design approach. Ο χώρος του dj οριοθετείται από ένα εντυπωσιακό έπιπλο που θυμίζει παλιά συρταριέρα με πλάτη από μεταλλικά φωτιστικά, των οποίων η στιλπνή επιφάνεια δημιουργεί ένα πρωτότυπο παιχνίδισμα με το φως. Αντιδιαμετρικά, επιλέχτηκε μια κλασική διακόσμηση με μοντέρνες αναφορές. Το μπαρ, απέκτησε τη δική του ταυτότητα και σημασία στη διαμόρφωση του σκηνικού και αποφεύγοντας τις φλύαρες φόρμες ακολουθεί ένα απλό και κλασικό ύφος που ανατρέπεται και προσδιορίζεται από ποπ αναφορές, όπως οι έντονοι χρωματικοί τόνοι του πορτοκαλί, το καπιτονέ ύφασμα και τα χαρακτηριστικά φωτιστικά οροφής mirror Ball, του Tom Dixon. Η κάβα παραμένει και αυτή σε λιτό ύφος επιτρέποντας στην ανάγλυφη επένδυση του τοίχου να τραβήξει την προσοχή και να αποτελέσει το ιδανικό φόντο για τον χώρο του μπαρ. Ο σχεδιαστικός διάλογος συνεχίζεται στην απέναντι πλευρά μέσω ενός ασύμμετρου, γεωμετρικού κανάβου που συνδιαλέγεται με την έντονη γραμμικότητα της εξωτερικής όψης συσχετίζοντας το εξωτερικό με το εσωτερικό περιβάλλον. Η θεματική του χώρου συμπληρώνεται από την προσεκτική χρήση των υλικών, των υφών και της χρωματικής παλέτας. Διαχρονικά και οικεία υλικά στις επιφάνειες και τα έπιπλα προσδίδουν πολυτέλεια μέσα από μια σύγχρονη οπτική. Η ευρεία χρήση του ξύλου σε συνδυασμό με το μαύρο μάρμαρο και τις χρυσές και μπρούτζινες επιφάνειες συνδιαλέγονται με υφάσματα με δέρμα και βελούδο ενώ η επιλογή ουδέτερων και γήινων τόνων στο σύνολο αφήνει τις σχεδιαστικές λεπτομέρειες, τις ιδιαίτερες χειροποίητες κατασκευές καθώς και τις έντονες πινελιές του πορτοκαλί, του κίτρινου και του μπλε να κατέχουν κυρίαρχο ρόλο στη δημιουργία του σκηνικού. Όσον αφορά την εξωτερική όψη του μαγαζιού οι αυστηρές, κατακόρυφες γραμμές των σκούρων, μεταλλικών στοιχείων και η διαφάνεια των ανοιγμάτων προσδίδουν την απαραίτητη ισορροπία μέσα από τη δημιουργική αντίθεση κενού και πλήρους.

for the platform on the opposite side, which is perfectly combined with modern features. The bar is centrally positioned and plays an important role in the overall design of the club. It acquires its own aesthetic identity applying a simple, classic style, which is complemented by elements of pop style through the bright orange colour of the quilted fabric used to cover the front of the bar, and the ‘mirror Ball’ pendant lights, designed by Tom Dixon studio. Similarly, the furniture behind the bar follows a minimal design, allowing the wall paneling to draw maximum attention and become the ideal background for the bar. The construction of an asymmetric grid on the opposite wall creates a strict geometric canvas, smoothly connecting to the design of the club’s façade, creating a unique dialogue between the interior and the exterior. The concept of the project is complemented by the imaginative use of materials, textures and colours. Classic and familiar materials offer a sense of luxury, using a contemporary design approach. Wood, black marble and surfaces of gold and bronze paint are combined with textiles such as leather and velvet. An earthy colour palette forms a neutral base to feature the design details with special custom-made constructions and bright colours of orange, yellow and blue. As for the club’s facade, strict vertical lines using metal elements in dark grey colour create a clean and intense result, while the transparency of the large glass opening adds appropriate balance through the creative contrast between the ‘empty’ and the ‘full’. ελληνικόσπίτι | mustdesign 153

Η Μαρία Κοντογιώργου (nickname MaRik), με τον γλύπτη και χαράκτη Φώτη Κοντογιώργη, αξιοποιώντας τις γνώσεις που αποκόμισαν από την οικογενειακή επιχείρηση μαρμάρου, δημιούργησαν το Marma design.
