Virtual reality at Bundoora ■ Bundoora Secondary College opened Australia's first Virtual Reality Innovation Centre on campus on Monday (Mar. 7). High school teachers from across Melbourne were able to learn about results and potential of virtual reality for student collaboration, education and career pathway planning. The teachers had the opportunity to try a range of virtual STEAM career scenarios such as performing open-heart surgery, scuba diving and studying the oceans, composing music, dissecting a frog in a lab, even experiencing life as an astronaut on an International Space Station.

The Centre has a number of specific purposes including: ■ Student collaboration centre ■ A place where students (both from BSC and other schools) and other collaborators, such as subject matter experts and academics, can bring new ideas and work with Mindflight7 on new VR (virtual reality), AR (augmented reality) and MR (mixed reality) content. The Professional Development Centre will be qaplace for education and career professionals to learn about VR, AR and MR (mixed reality) and their use and emergence in education, training and business / commerce.
