ANZAC MUST GO ON: McLEISH
■ Local RSL sub-branches are still in the dark on what requirements - if any the Andrews Labor Government will impose on local Anzac Day services, says Eildon MLA Cindy McLeish. Planning is well underway for April 25 commemorations, but country service clubs remain in the dark on how, or if, the Government expects them to comply with restrictions on crowd limits, social distancing or mask wearing. Ms McLeish said Anzac Day was too important to local people for the Government to wait until the last minute to provide a way forward. "Anzac Day is a historical day of remembrance that is incredibly important to our country," Ms McLeish said. "Each year, extensive planning by RSL members and Presidents, local communities, florists, schools and the RSL's Women's Auxiliary take place in the lead up to Anzac Day. “It is unfair to keep them in the dark as to what restrictions will need to be implemented and how,” Ms McLeish said.
