MP calls for fuel reduction burns ■ Eildon MLA Cindy McLeish this month called on Premier Daniel Andrews to immediately lift his ban on vital fuel reduction burns which were imposed in a letter from the Country Fire Authority to brigades. "Fuel reduction burns are critical for bushfire prevention as we lead into the summer period,” Ms McLeish said. “Whilst our region was spared from devastation in January this year, bushfires raged across regional Victoria. Andrews' ban on vital fuel reduction burns in the lead up to this year's fire season could endanger regional communities again,” Ms McLeish said.
