Forest Friends claim a win
■ Kinglake Friends of the Forest say that Vicforests have agreed to temporarily halt certain logging in the Central Highlands. The Friends and Forests were due in the Supreme Court yesterday (Tues.) afternoon, after an injunction was issued against VicForests. Until the trial, logging will not be allowed within 20 m of any roads and tracks, they say.

Victoria recorded 177 new cases of Coronavirus in 24 hours, in the daily statistics released on Monday. Within Victoria, 25 of the new cases were linked to outbreaks and 151 were under investigation. One new case was detected in a returned traveller in hotel quarantine. To date, 24 people have died from Coronavirus in Victoria: ■ 641 cases may indicate community transmission, ■ 1612 cases are currently active in Victoria, ■ 72 cases of Coronavirus are in hospital, including 17 in intensive care, ■ 3552 cases are from metropolitan Melbourne, while 293 are from regional Victoria. Meanwhile, a number of Yarra Ranges families have been upset that their regional towns have been affected by the State Government’s decision to categorise the entire shire as metro.

Two cases at Healesville homes
● Aurrum Aged Care, Healesville ■ Two separate Healesville aged care workers each tested positive for Coronavirus late last week. One staff member was from the Aurrum Healesville, and the test result was announced on Wednesday last week (July 8). A staff member at Holmwood Aged Care, Healesville, was found to be positive on the same day. The Department of Health and Human Services said the two cases were not linked to the same person. Diagnosis for both was advised the previous day (Tue., July 7).
