■ The final count for the Bayside City Council election was announced on Friday afternoon (Fri., Nov. 8). ■ Beckett Ward: Debbie Taylor-Haines ■ Bleazby Ward: Robert Irlicht ■ Boyd Ward: Kylie McIntosh ■ Catlefield Ward: Elli Murray ■ Dendy Ward: Hanna El Mouallem ■ Ebden Ward: Geoff Leigh ■ Ivison Ward: Andrew Hockley Fiona Stitfold ran third in first preference votes for Boyd Ward. There were 18 candidates in Dendy Ward.

REECE WINS LORD MAYORAL ELECTION

■ Nick Reece has been returned to the position of Lord Mayor at the City of Melbourne. His running mate Roshena Campbell will become Deputy Lord Mayor. Other contenders for the top civic position were Anthony Van Der Craats, Eyelm Kim, Jamal Hakim, Gary Morgan, Anthony Koutoufides, Mariam Riza, Arron Wood, Roxane Ingleton, Greg Bisinella and Phil Reed. The nine successful candidates are Kevin Louey, Owen Guest, Olivia Ball, Gladys Liu, Philip Le Liu, Mark Scott, Rafael Camillo, Andrew Rowse and Davydd Griffiths. As at Friday, some 89,606 formal votes had been counted, of the total enrolment of 136,502 in the municipality.

■ The announcement of most local Council election results was due to have occurred after this edition of The Local Paper went to press. Boroondara Council results were due to have been declared at 3pm on Monday (Nov. 11). The Glen Eira Council, Stonnington Council and Yarra Council for 2024-28 were to be revealed at 2pm Tuesday (Nov. 12). Almost simultaneously, the outcome for Port Phillip Council was to be announced at 3pm Tuesday.

■ Kingston Mayor Jenna Davey-Burns was unsuccessful in her bid to be re-elected. ● Melbourne Magistrates’ Court ■ Detectives from Moorabbin Crime Investigation Unit have charged a man after executing a search warrant in Caulfield North on Monday last week (Nov. 4). Investigators executed the warrant at the Wanda Rd address, where they located and seized significant quantities of alleged methylamphetamine, cocaine, ketamine, prescription medication and an amount of cash. The 37-year-old Murrumbeena man has been charged with attempt to pervert the course of justice, traffick methylamphetamine, possess methylamphetamine, possess ketamine, possess cocaine, and deal property suspected of being proceeds of crime. He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on November 5.
