FEAR ON ‘48’ TRAM
■ Detectives have charged a man after he allegedly threatened passengers on a tram with a knife in Melbourne’s CBD on Saturday morning (June 17).
It is alleged he entered a business on Collins St holding a weapon and stole items.
He allegedly fled the scene and boarded a nearby tram where he threatened passengers. A woman received minor injuries.

Police used a taser to safely take the man into custody. The 57-year-old man, of no fixed place of address, has been charged with armed robbery, false imprisonment, threats to kill and assault.
Break-ins across SE
■ Detectives have arrested an alleged serial thief responsible for breaking into more than 50 cars in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs over the last few months.
The alleged thief broke into 52 cars between March and May this year in Brighton, Carnegie, Murrumbeena, St Kilda and Toorak and stole various items from the vehicles.
Detectives executed a warrant in Oakleigh East on Friday morning, uncovering power tools, identity cards and various stolen property.
A 42-year-old Oakleigh East man has been charged with 10 counts of theft from motor vehicle as well as obtain property by deception, deal in the proceeds of crime and disqualified driving. It’s expected he will be charged on summons.
He was due to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Saturday night (June 17).

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate Tom Singleton.
The 33-year-old man is wanted on warrant for theft, drug possession, cultivate narcotic plant and driving-related matters.
Singleton is Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall with a medium build, brown hair and blue eyes.
He is known to frequent the St Kilda, Prahran and Hampton East areas.

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate Warren Jennings.
The 58-year-old man is wanted on warrant for burglary, possess drug of dependence and contravene a court order.
Jennings is Caucasian, approximately 170cm tall with a medium build, brown and grey hair and blue eyes. He is known to frequent the South Melbourne and Port Melbourne areas.
