■ East Beaumaris Kindergarten at 60 Wells Rd, Beaumaris, has been awarded $12,500 towards the installation of solar panels. The grant money comes through the Federal Government’s Community Energy Efficiency and Solar Grants program The grant application was supported by Bayside Council and was one of only two grants awarded in the Goldstein electorate. Bayside Council also supported installation of the panels and contributed funds for the project. The 20 panel, 6.6 kilowatt solar electricity system installed using the grant funds will reduce electricity costs for the kindergarten by
