● Cr Simon Brooks, Mayor
■ Mornington Peninsula Shire is launching its 'Local Connection Points,' with three sites rolling out over the past week. “This initiative aims to transform community interaction with Shire services, providing more convenient access and ensuring a positive, supportive experience for all,” said a Council representative. These hubs are strategically located within smaller townships alongside existing community and visitor services, offering greater convenience and improved customer experience through personalised face-to-face interactions. They complement the main offices in Mornington, Rosebud and Hastings. Cr Simon Brooks, Mayor, said: “These hubs cater to locals who value personalised assistance and prefer one-on-one interactions.” Local Connection Points are located at: ■ Somerville Library: Extended service, open Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm. ■ Dromana - Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre: New service open every Wednesday, 10am to 4pm. ■ Sorrento Community Centre: New service open every Friday, 9am to 5pm. The Shire plans to expand to more sites in the future, including Red Hill later this year.
