Fence deteriorates
■ Frankston Council is acknowledging that the fencing has deteriorated along the foreshore at Keast Park, Seaford.
“Unfortunately, the existing fence has deteriorated from harsh coastal conditions, strong winds, shifting sands and salt corrosion,” said a Council representative.
The Council says it is going to upgrade the fencing “over the next few months”.
“The new fencing is made from long-lasting timber (iron bark), and is plastic-free. Aiming to reduce erosion and promote the regeneration of coastal dune systems and allow the habitat to re-establish and thrive.
The work will be completed in stages “to minimise impacts as much as possible”. Some pedestrian access will be closed.
