Police chase across South-East

■ Police arrested three people following an extended follow through the south-eastern suburbs on Tuesday morning last week (June 6).
Officers responded to reports offenders were breaking into a Mercedes sedan at a Mount Waverley home about 3.30am.
It is understood that the offenders were disturbed when the victim came outside to investigate.
The offenders, believed to be armed with weapons, took off in an allegedly stolen silver Commodore Public Order Response Unit officers spotted the Commodore speeding through side streets before Air Wing picked it up a short time later.
Stop sticks were successfully deployed on Ferntree Gully Rd but the Commodore continued driving on its rims.
The vehicle came to a stop on Fulton Rd, Blackburn South about 4.30am.
The occupants gave themselves up and Critical Incident Response Team officers arrested the trio. All three were assisting Police with their enquiries.

Cran. carjacking
■ Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three people following a carjacking in Cranbourne East on May 23. Investigators allege a taxi driver picked up three male passengers on Barnby Grove just before 5am.
It is alleged the males, armed with a knife, threatened the driver and made him get out of the car.
The offenders then drove away in the stolen taxi, which was later found dumped on Bruin Street in Clyde.
?Frankston Council has spoken with Administrators of the Lloyd Group about a number of projects which are due to re-commence over the next few weeks on multiple sites.

■ Healthy Futures Hub. The Council has secured the services of selected subcontractors so they can return to site and complete the remaining works considered priority for occupancy of the site. Priority works have recommenced onsite and will be completed over next the next two to three weeks.
■ Council Officers are also in regular contact with St Kilda Football Club, and other tenants, and expect early access to the building will be available shortly. ■ Jubilee Park Stadium. A builder has been appointed under a Construction Management Model to manage subcontractors to facilitate completion of remaining works and subsequent project completion. It is expected works will recommence onsite in the next three to four weeks.
■ Eric Bell Pavilion and Lloyd Park Senior Pavilion. Both contracts are now out for tender.
✔Cardinia Council will host a World Elder Abuse Awareness Day event on Thursday (June 15). There will be a special guest speaker from Seniors Rights Victoria to talk about elder abuse, risk, prevention, and where to get suppor and assistance. Afternoon tea and take-home information will be provided. The event will be3 held from 1.30pm – 3pm at Cardinia Cultural Centre, 40 Lakeside Boulevard, Pakenham
Dromana Habitat was held last weekend. It was a collective of 13 makers and artisan businesses located within the Dromana Industrial Estate. Dromana Habitat received $9,343 in grant funding from the Shire.

Tree canopy grows
■ Greater Dandenong City Council is working to increase its tree canopy.
“It is only in extreme circumstances that trees are removed. When a tree is removed Council endeavours to replace it with an appropriate species,” a representative said.
The Council manages 55,000 street trees and a significant number of park trees. Every year 1700 street trees are planted across Greater Dandenong, and more are planted in local parks and reserves through community planting days.
