■ Former Greater Dandenong City Mayor Cr Angela Long has been returned to Council. With 26.61 per cent of the primary vote she won the Cleeland Ward seat from opponents Dalibor Saula (18.78 per cent), Solange Ardiles (12.57), Lidia Paul (16.34), Hayat Rahimi (9.57), Reza Andesha (5.24) and Madhu Warnakulasuriya (9.89). The 10 other Greater Dandenong Councillors will be: Jim Memeti (Dandenong Ward), Rhonda Garad (Keysborough South), Tim Dark (Keysborough), Lana Formoso (Noble Park North), Sophie Tan (Noble Park), Richard Lim (Springvale Central), Sean O’Reilly (Springvale North), Loi Truong (Springvale South) and Eden Foster (Yarraman).

Diversity at The Drum

● John Bennie ■ Greater Dandenong City CEO John Bennie has welcomed a diversity event, Unwrapped, at the Drum Theatre. Mr Bennie said the event will provide pathways that lead to social change through the creation, development and delivery of a diverse and inclusive arts and culture program. Local LGB’ TIQA+ artists and communities will connect and celebrate through a range of virtual activities as part of Unwrapped from Novembert 18-30.

Councillors for Briars Ward for the next four years will be Steve Holland, Despi O’Connor and Anthony Marsh. Lisa Dixon will represent Cerberus Ward. Sarah Race and High Fraser have been elected as Nepean Ward Councillors. David Gill will be the Red Hill representative. The three Seawinds Ward Councillors have been named as Antonella Celi, Kerri McCafferty and Debra Mar. Mornington Peninsula had a high voter turnout for the elections, with results announced by the Victorian Electoral Commission.Briars Ward and Watson Ward each had a turnout 84.9 per cent turnout of the total enrolment. ★ Nathan Conroy, David Asker and Suzette Tayler will be the North-East Ward Councillors at Frankston City for the next four years. There were 13 candidates for the three vacancies in this ward which includes Carrum Downs, Sandhurst, Skye and Langwarrin. Steven Hughes, Kris Bolam and Sue Baker will take the three North-West Ward vacancies. There were a dozen nominees. South Ward representatives will be Brad Hill, Claire Harvey and Liam Hughes.

● Police want to speak with this man. ■ Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives are seeking assistance from the public to help identify suspects for an armed robbery in Endeavour Hills earlier this year. Investigators were told three men approached the two teenage victims on Hallam North Rod near Thomas Mitchell Drive on Sunday, September 27, about 6.45pm. It is believed the men spoke to the victims while one man produced a hammer and demanded the victims’ hand over a Bluetooth speaker and a bike. The victims handed over the speaker and the men fled on foot on Thomas Mitchell Drive. The victims were not physically injured during the incident.

■ Greater Dandenong Highway Patrol officers intercepted the driver of a Holden HG Kingswood on Thompsons Rd, Lyndhurst, alleging that he was travelling at 160-kmh in a 90-kmh zone. Victoria Police says the 31-year-old Berwick driver allegedly claimed he was “baited” by another car, prompting him to engage in a drag race. The car is set to be impounded for a month at a cost of $1038. Police expect to charge the man with speeding offences, and for hm to front a Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
